  1. That's pretty freakin cool. I wonder what he'd do to Rachel Ray. *hahmmmmmmmmmmmm...*
  2. I don't know Cali law at all, but a bankruptcy shouldn't move too quickly through the courts, so you may have some time regardless. Its of course probably bad form to ask them, cause the "birdy" may be wrong about the bankruptcy. But I'd imagine it also depends greately on *how* (Chapter "X") they are filing. Repayment, walk away and lose everything, etc. There are a lot of angles you'll need to look at, but regardless, your should have basic tenants rights in the end saying they must give you X days of notice, I want to say like 30 days here in WA, but I'm not sure.
  3. That thing is BAD. *breaks out George Thorogood* There's a write up in Car and Driver that just graced my doorstep yesterday, and they hint that it may even be a bit more that Nissan is claiming. Something like $85K though... oy. Although I can see an $85K Nissan easier than a $150K+ Ford (GT).
  4. If you can find the spots where you want to mount the lights, and drill the bumper first, you might just loosen the bolts Simon mentioned, and maybe even those from the bracket to the actual bumper (you have to loosen nuts from behind the bumper/bracket on a 95), but not remove any of them. That should give you enough slack room to mess with things and/or put in new wiring, but you can skip the PITA job of aligning the bumper brackets back through the body, lining them up to bolt on, etc. etc.
  5. I'm just returning the favor of another member who gave it to me when I was in a pinch. *nod's in his direction*
  6. If you need, PM me your email address, and I'll send you the wiring info. from the FSM.
  7. Are you in the Seattle area (as stated above)? If the bearing replacement doesn't pan out, and you're up for trying a used tranny, there were several pretty complete Pathy's out at Meridian Auto Wrecking in Graham last weekend. Its a little drive, but I remember the hassle of trying to find junkyards worth a damn that were close when I lived in Seattle. You might give them a call to see what they want for one: 253-847-1922. If you're already considering pulling the bearings, you could just do the install yourself. If not, many places won't install used parts, but some will if you acknowledge that they won't warranty the part. I've had great experiences (and cheap- at least compared to other shops) with Central Ave Automotive in Kent. They did my clutch, among other things, when I had no place to work on it. They may be able to work with you. Good luck.
  8. Dude, where's your attorney?
  9. Mine came from mom and TV. Michael by birth (Mike these days ), and I love pickles, even as a kid. Weird, yes I know. After a while, Michael became Mickle or Mickle Pickle for my mom, then just "Pickle." Yes, increasingly odd, but whattya do. Then one day in the 90's, this random commercial came on with chimps dressed up like "Ponch" and "Jon" from CHiP's, only it was "Chimps." One of them was named Mr. Pickles, and hence the legend was born. *Looks around, sees people going WTF?!* You'd be highly entertained to have seen me trying to explain to a college prof. when she asked how I managed to pick my old Hotmail account of "slickpickle." Hadn't even thought about it up to that point, but, ummm... can you say awkward?
  10. *looked at that remote-mount turbo* Hmmm... that looks like fun. But, I guess you'd have to ban your truck from water and mud, cause I'd imagine a quck smack or tweak of the pipes, then a fresh gulp of muddy water from the bottom of your truck, pressurized and shot into the intake could, well... be a bad thing. Besides that fun though, how would one deal with fuel? Bigger injectors and such? Its interesting for sure though, we'd all love some more power.
  11. Ditto a high flow cat. Why not drop one in for a few $, and save everybody a few breaths of "fresh" air and see the same gains in power.
  12. IIRC, they used the the Eaton M90 supercharger, used on a few GM vehicles, as well as the Thunderbird Super Coupe. I remember looking around for them at the time, and you could pick one up actually quite cheap, through eBay, junk yards, and such.
  13. Never heard of anything in King Co., either accessible and/or legal, other than Forest Service roads out in the foothills. For ORV areas, the closest are most likely Evans Creek (by Mt. Rainier), Reiters (up in Sno. Co.), Tahuya (over by Belfair/Bremerton), or over the mountains by Cle Elum. Ooh, and Straddleline is now back open down on the Thurston/Grays Harbor Co. line, west of Olympia.

    Spooky

    *boo!* Happy Halloween!
  15. Happy b-day, Ryan! Hope things are good in your world.
  16. Any idea what the "hillclimber kit" upgrades?
  17. Solved. Its not perfect alignment, but tons better than before, and should be fine.
  18. Hey there, this goes out to anybody with a body lift and the stock air box intake (1990+ I believe). If you have a BL and haven't messed with it, the air box (attached to the body) now sits above the intake on the engine (attached to the frame, duh!). Its not much of a big deal since the rubber intake hose flexes, but I'm sure it constricts the air quite a bit, and after a while the rubber cracked and deteriorated at the bends on mine. I have a 3" BL, but didn't want to go with a K&N cone since I already have a K&N drop in filter, and have had water crossing & spashing issues on the trail as it is. So, I grabbed a "new" one from the junkyard, then figured I'd just fix it. I didn't get a "before" pic, but you can see from the dirty old one the angles that it bent. And here are some of the cracks. Luckily, they're not all the way through yet. The air box mounts with 3 bolts/mounts, 2 on the fender side, and one toward the engine. I just pulled that 1 mount on the engine side out, drilled a new hole up an inch or so, bent as needed to fit the countours, and put it back in. This tilted the box enough, lowering it toward the engine on that side, and making it line up much better with the intake on the engine. (the old hole is to the lower left on that part I bent away, and the new hole is above it, you can still see the burrs)
  19. Welcome! Find your way over to the Garage, and to the 86.5-89 and 90-95 sections for tons of info. on your rig. Don't be afraid to go down to the bottom of the page and change the "Show:" range to all dates, try the search feature, and don't be afraid to ask away. We won't bite. (hard)
  20. Maybe something irritating could cause them to find new residence. Pepper spray, a spray bottle of bleach or ammonia (not both! ), etc., as long as it won't get into the air inside to bug you. Or, maybe a semi-auto CO2 BB gun? My brother had one, possibly a Crossman (?) he got for like $40, and it could so some pretty decent damage quick. Hit and run, hit and run!
  21. Ditto what K9sar said, I think I used to flat washers per side, probably 1/" or 5/8" or so, and slid the hoop as far forward (toward the front of the truck) as it would go. Problem solved.
  22. Huh, doesn't look like there's much space to slide anything in there. I'm almost wondering about hitting the 2 of the "sides" of the bushing gently with a punch or something, to see if I can maybe deform it a bit to take up the slack. Seems like that *might* work as a redneck solution. I rarely open the back hatch, maybe once a month on average, so I don't mind if its a little tight at long as it opens and doesn't rattle. I dunno, we'll see this weekend. Worst thing, I might bugger it up worse than it already is which would be pretty hard, then have to grind and replace the pins and all anyways. But I'm going to a yard Sat. morning anyways, so maybe I'll see what I can scope out. Either way, wish me luck, thanks guys.
  23. If that's the case... anybody want some bushings? Then I'll be *acquiring* a new donor rack, cause mine is kinda rusty and I've already stripped it and cured its ways once in the past.

    Madness

I've had to get a driving one too, but of course for a driving job. What the heck do they need to see a criminal check on a 15 year old kid for?? Madness. Is she handling money, or something where they're afraid things might get stolen?
