What people don't understand is that the walking dead cant live in the cold like where I live. The cold will kill them all do to freezing and wind chill. I will go out side and take the frozen dead and line them up in the yard and stick a bullet in all them. No mess to clean up when everything is frozen.

Welding Rear Axle
APACHECHIEF13 replied to APACHECHIEF13's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
Yes tire wear I have but not a big deal for me like it might be for others -
I have not seen any post on welded rear axles so here it is. I did a disk brake swap and when I was there I welded the rear spider gears. I hear people say don't do that if it's a daily driver but I did it anyways. Works great and no problem with my axles breaking. I don't run into many spots where I have to back up when turning in a parking lot. Just go slow and when it starts chirping and let off the gas so you don't bind your axles shafts. I've had my axle welded for a year now and I wheel the crap out of it with no axles breaking.

welcome nice pathy

I have 2 set for sale pm me if needed. 87/ 89 and 90 /95
-
Junkyard or just take it off and save some money if you don't mind a little body roll but you would not notice if any

I have no problem with people doing sub lifts but that's not for me because then your top heavy. you should not need to go with that much of a lift unless your just doing it for looks. I have warn gold hubs and stock suspension but I welded the rear end and I still keep up with the lifted Rubicons. And for the springs topping out that should not happen if done right.
-
Do the hubs need to be removed to replace the CV Axle?
APACHECHIEF13 replied to MrEviLDeD's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I always replace the axle when I'm doing a job like that. Not worth the trouble replacing just a boot. Good job knocking it out that a boy -
Nice. I have found a kit for 114 plus tax but I'm just going to spice things up and make one just for something unique and one of a kind. Ill post after I'm done with it this weekend

Check your center link also that would cause hard steering

I had another pathy with everything I needed for the disk brake swap. Only 100 bucks for the whole pathy so it was worth every cent lol and for stopping it's a lot better then the drums. You are right if you dont have the money then don't do this not much gain but still fun the do
-
Try and find some disk brake axles and remover the drum brakes for better stopping.

You can find spacers for your pathy on problem. Don't do a subframe lift do to being top heavy and where and tear on parts. Get bigger coil springs and longer shocks for a lift and run 31 or 33 on it. look up 4x4parts.com for a lift or make your own lift with parts you find off other rigs. I don't like body lifts on any rig if you ask me

Has anyone made there own center link before? I'm going to try and make my own center link using Heim joints and I hope it work out ok for me. Any feed back would be helpful if you already done this

bringing an 88 pathy back to life
APACHECHIEF13 replied to PathfinderProject1988's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
Sounds like it Check ground and wires good for any shorts or for wires touching under the hood by engine do to heat -
Nice job I need to do my timing on my 3.0l also but i don't want the bend a rod and blow my motor. I need to come up with 900 to get her retimed and new water pump and belts. I can do the water pump and belts but timing this motor is a not fun. I might need to do the distributer also

P.S. The cheapest shocks I found for the Pathy are Calmini for 198.00 for all 4 and that's with shopping. But mine have been on back order for 3 weeks and I'm still looking at another 2 weeks or so before I see them . There is nothing really cheap about a Nissan so shop before you buy so you get the best deals for the money. Look at 4x4parts.com for some ok deals to save move. If your just hitting the trails you wont need a idler arm brace. But if you want to wheel hard get one worth the 20 to 40 bucks with out braking off the idler arm
-
Don't let people tell you Nissan are a pos because there wrong and they have there head you you now where lol. You will love Your Pathy as long as you replace the parts that need it. I have a stock 87 pathy and I wheel the world out of it and it out wheels a stock wrangler. Welcome and I hope we can hope you with what you need

I'm in need of help with my left side rear end sagging almost 1 3/4. I replaced coil springs and shocks and my coil spring spacers are good and still same sag. I measured the spring set and both sides on the rear in the street and both are at 10" dead on so I think its in my body and how it was made, any ideas would help thanks.

87 twin turbo sas 1 inch lift...
APACHECHIEF13 replied to AK9849cy's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
good pic of the sas guy very nice -
Good right up guys. Dose not matter what you do in the front you will be paying for it out the rear end lol. I know a lot of people do not get the d44 up front because they brake a lot that's y steveo made the diamond axle front the front end of the pathys. I would have got an axle from him but I can find d60 for the fronts all day long so that's what I'm going to run in my buggy with a 10.5 in the rear. I will not cut the axle so i can get that buggy look. I would stay away from the d44 and get a good axle from steveo that wont leave you on the trail. Good luck on what you do for the front end and hope you like it

We can make it better, we have the technology...
APACHECHIEF13 replied to PerlNinja's topic in General Forums
I have a 87 pathy and I have 240,000 plus and I put a new 3.0l from japan and put a rebuilt trans in it. I also replaced everything in the steering and just last week out new coil spring on out of an 09 tj. I have replaced the shock in 04 but have new Calmini shock on back right now. I have 31/10.5/15 bfg km2 all the way around and one for a spare and I'm over 10k and it looks like a new pathy again. Little rust and dents from wheeling but welded rock rails off a 4 door tj to help with not denting it to bad. So is it worth putting money into a 27 year old pathy yes but that's what I think.
