As the rear end slides out just yell "MORE POWER"!
  2. thanks guys I think i'll try the hammer trick first, I just got a new BFH (big effin hammer)!
  3. fixed the Plastic guard that protects the gas tank filler hose. while I was in there I also scraped away lots of dirt and painted over some rust that was forming.
  4. whats the best way to remove rear wheel studs, I've got one broken (right rear) and one striped (left rear). PO must have been a ham fisted boob. I was gonna rotate my wheels today but I'll have to deal with this first.
  5. very nice, very nice. watching people drive stock vehicles off road with skill and precision is always a treat.
  6. <p>the driver of the dozer who will pull you out is going to say "how the hell you get this far in?"</p> <p>good luck brother.</p> <p>might just want to sit back and listen to that Corb Lund song about the truck gettin' stuck.!</p>
  7. what do you mean crazy? I mostly just twitch a bit and only foam at the mouth when I see someone texting while driving.
  8. As far as I know '96-00 all use the same VG33 engine...after '00 they upgraded to the VQ3.5L.I could be wrong. regardless there are lots of threads detailing swapping the VG33 into older trucks that had a VG30 and also using VG30 cams in the VG33 so things should be mostly interchangeable.
  9. If it's paid for and the body is in decent shape I say fix it, when you can do the work yourself you'll save even more money. Buying another used car is always a gamble and you won't find one for under $800.00 Our north american culture is too quick to throw things away......sorry I won't rant on that. If you love your truck and you like doing the work do it.
  10. swapping tires is a good call. In my dad's shop I've seen tires balance perfectly but ran like crap on the road because of a broken internal belt. you wouldn't notice until there was weight placed on the tire.

    Help

need a little more info.... does the the door not open when you pull the handle or is it the lock? when the door is open does pulling the outside handle actuate anything on the latch mechanism? if the latch mechanism is sticking try cleaning it with wd40 or something then re greasing it. also when the inside door panel is off check out the linkages for the door handle and make sure they are all working fine... if it has anything to do with the electric locking mechanism maybe some one else can lend a hand. that stuff i'm not to familiar with.
  12. from the rust pattern it looks like that 95 was half submerged for a while....katrina car?
  13. sounds like this is a good way to justify more clearance and some mud terrains!
  14. naw, same bit of video. not sure what the point of this truck is. it just looks like some oil sheik wanted a new toy. I get that from a engineering point it is way cool but I'd never put it on "THE COOL WALL" just way to much hey look at me i've just spent millions on a new garage ornament.
  15. there is a video of it in action on expedition portal.com!
  16. I'd go KYB they have good reviews and you can find them for reasonable prices. I'd go ahead and pick up the isolator and strut bearing but would hope to re-use the originals if they are in good condition. you might also need dust boots and bump stops ( I know mine does.) as far as springs go OME...small lift and able to handle a heavier load. everyone who has them seems to like the ride. hope this helps
  17. Ya pics already! and don't forget the inside run and how it finally reaches the throttle body!
  18. hi turbo, welcome! spend a little while surfing this forum and you'll find all the answers to your questions. In fact there is a subsection devoted to the R50 (96-04 Pathfinder). have fun
  19. I may have invented some new "Bad Words". Took it out for a long highway drive today and did over 300km on just over half a tank! what a difference. before I'd only get about 200km/half tank. and it's quieter to boot!
  20. that whole episode were they drove those trucks like complete asses actually made me angry... no truck will last if you abuse it like that. what a waste. as far as which is better....even my wife likes the BBC original, and she couldn't care less about cars.
  21. things the owners manual doesn't tell you.....how much weight you can put on the roof rack....how to slide roof rack bars....what the wade depth is...what the approach /break over and departure angles are...how much suspension travel there is....etc... it does however tell you how to set the clock in the radio that is no longer in the truck...
