Exactly!
Sorry, but no love here. Typical Brit "look how awesome we were' crap. The Spitfire was a great plane but it was a high performance/short distance interceptor which is an easy roll to fill (they aren't meant to last). The armament was weak! 4-8 machine guns and no cannons. Nice that you can dig it up and clean it up enough to fire, but why did it take 70 years to care?
While the BF109 wasn't perfect, it had 20mm cannons and that makes a huge difference.
This is what made people pee in their pants though..

Oh boy, here we go........
I find it laughable that some of my new fellow-countrymen deride a 70 year old gun that can still fire after being in a bog covered in @!*%e, when an M16 will jam if there's 2 grains of dust in the air!
On the subject of aircraft, I will agree that the Spitfires armament was weak, the ME109's cannons were a big advantage. Also, don't forget that the P51 Mustang was a piss poor aircraft only good for low level until they put the Rolls Royce engine into it & for a Yank to comment "Typical Brit "look how awesome we were' crap" when the USA was years late getting into both world wars then claim that they won everything, is a shining example of the pot calling the kettle black.
Don't think Hollywood is true history my old son.
Having said that, I also agree that the FW 190 was an awesome plane but there were not enough good German pilots still alive (the British & Russians having shot down most of them before American even got into WWII) for it to make a difference.
Now, stop all this nationalistic arguing, if any of us were that gung ho about our countries we'd be driving Land Rovers & Jeeps not Nissan's!!!

here's a link to one thread about these issues, rocky2 has done it, if you pm him he can help.
Basically you elongate the top hole at about a 25-30 degree angle that then allows you to move the top bolt inward & outward to adjust the camber. You want the wheels to look like this I I, not / \ (negative camber) or \ / (positive camber).

Recently I made a custom cargo barrier. It was cut and welded from a rectangle grate.
And I have something special. My wife sewed for me a cargo cover. It purpose is to protect trunk from dirt when driving in off-road conditions with muddy rope or damaged wheel
Here is trunk loaded for one week vacations.
Looks great, nice work!!!
And I see a daewoo
with everything loaded up in the faithful Pathy that would give its life to protect you and get you safely where you need to go.
That's nice.
:D

I'm still scratching my head with that one. I wish I could have parked next to your rig to compare our set ups.
Well when you drive out here for some mine/desert trips...............
So, I'm guessing you took out the spacers?
Yeah, I liked the look with the spacers but until I can slot the top bolt holes I'm "Mr. Rake".

To all of these posts!

Looks like you're stuck, wedged between those rock S!!

Just kidding!
Well done bro. I've had the pleasure of wheelin' with Stioc & he has a really nice, clean rig. Well deserved win

I had the same issue (Positive camber) after I installed the NX4 spacers with the lift, camber bolts didn't help me at all as the posi camber was so bad. Without the spacers though you should be fine with the bolts, you could always slot the top bolt hole to give yourself more camber adjustment if needed.

I'm with DVW, I think I know what you're talking about but I'm not certain, pics are needed.
Do not use a regular spring compressor, it probably won't compress the springs far enough & there's a good chance it'll take your head off if it slips or breaks!
-
Ok, thanks for the correction. I had both off at the time, and it seemed really close and hard to get to. I'd still be concerned about spilling the antifreeze though.
How do you have your tranny cooler routed?
B
I left it running into the bottom of the rad when I switched the cooler. Maybe the tranny is contributing to the heating up on hills, I'll bypass the bottom of the rad when I get a chance, you really don't need it here in So Cal anyway.
-
It's really weird, it's fine nearly all the time & it does run cooler with the DEI, but anytime I get a long slow slog up a hill the temp goes up. It's just the long slow hills it doesn't like although it was a lot better this time, it was on the long climb up to Cerro Gordo that it started going up. As I said, it's better than before & it didn't get close to overheating (up to about 220f) like before but none of the others ran as hot as mine. I think the full rad is my next step, although I have my fans set to come on at about 190f & I'm wondering if that's too high?
PS. I should have my snorkel fitted this week, it's based on your design just a couple of minor differences.
-
+1 have to agree here, I think mines a 170 in the 88 but I'm using the Maxima electric fans and have had no problems out in the desert
What temp do you have your fans set to come on at?
-
Considering that the ECU monitors the temperature and adjusts things depending on the reading , I think running no themostat is ill advised. The VGs seem to run better fairly warm and stable, and as long as the cooling system is in good shape it is more than adequate for almost any desert conditions. I'd say it would be qually important to divorce the transmission cooling from the radiator for extreme hot conditions.
Sorry Bud, I can't advise you on the quality aftermarket brands. Any reason you aren't just going with a Nissan unit?
B
I was thinking of going with no thermo but what you say makes sense. Never thought about getting an OEM stat to be honest.
-
I was waiting for a semi to crush him.... "Hey Bill, was that a speed bump we just went over?"
-
I keep hearing bad stories about Stant thermostats, anybody recommend a good brand?
-
Thanks guys, I've forwarded your comments to my bud.

A friend of mine is looking to get a Pathy & he saw a black 1995 XE, manual trans, around 100,000 miles, needs tires. It's going for $2,950, is this a good price? I told him to offer $2,500.
Thanks.

My '02 is an SE and has the dead pedal...
Couldn't you "fab" one out of wood or something and cover it with some matching carpet? Like a stereo cabinet? Is it that big of an issue? ahahaha
If it's not that big of an issue, give me yours!
Like a lot of things, I guess it's all down to personal taste.

I have to admit to liking something to push against when I'm screaming in terror on a 50 degree camber!

So, what good did your bookmark do for ya'? Maybe the cat got a hold of it. (that's all bookmarks are good for around our house.
)
Computer bookmark my son, computer bookmark
Actually I don't think I did bookmark it, but the ones I've seen are all $40-$60!!!!
I found a home made one that I think I'll be fabricating or something like it....... http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f37/built-myself-dead-pedal-foot-rest-303612/
-
There's just a lttile thin rest which is practically useless. I've been wanting to add one for a long time, I found a cool Heep one that would fit but I lost the bookmark. I'll see if I can find it again.
-
I have a small "clunk" when turning & I've replaced a lot of the same things you have so here's my thinking........ I've never thought about the steering rack itself. Sure we've all done the rubber mounts but as you mentioned last of all it could be the bushings or the rack itself that's the culprit. When we lift our vehicles we all think about the CV joint angles but the same thing is happening to the steering rack joints, so I'm thinking at least in my case maybe it's the rack itself.
Just my 10 cents worth

You might want to get a center bash plate if your oil pan is taking a beating. The grease just means you've put a little too much in there, just wipe it off & carry on my friend. If it keeps leaking grease you may have a grease seal gone.
I would have the rust spots underneath sandblasted or something then a heavy coat of underseal. You probably get slightly rougher winters in Poland than here in California!

Ill make some tshirts. Hahaha. Is there a place to buy stickers here?
That would make a great slogan for T shirts!
If you want decals hit up fleurys, he has a lot of cool stuff. Most of us have at least one or two of his decals, someone has to keep him out of the poorhouse

No need to apologize B, we're all just having a laugh
My dad was a long range spotter for the Canadian artillery in North Africa, Sicily & Italy, didn't talk about it much but did tell me some stories that were pretty funny. I don't think the guys liked to talk about the bad stuff, too many horrible memories. I think that's so cool that your dad was in Normandy with the German army, in lots of ways I think they had it worse than the allied troops. Did he tell you any stories about the war? We don't hear much about their side of the story.
I used to have a WWII website that had some really cool photos (my wife's dad was with the 5th Air Force in the Pacific & has tons of pics that he took), you've just given me the inspiration to revamp it & get it back up & running. Kids today need to remember the sacrifices made by people of ALL nations so that they can be the spoiled, arrogant little bastards that they are today
