Do you guys have AVM hubs in the US if so are they any good. There isn't too many options for me as shipping from US is expensive but then again the hubs are $200?
-
But then he would also have to add in a transfer case and get both drive shafts which would cost more then doing a SAS on a 4x4 pathfinder

Seems like its a common problem for these vans. Do a quick google search on the coolant leak a few others have a problem with that too.
-
Try burping the coolant. 1.When the engine is cold remove the radiator cap 2.Fill it to level then start the engine with the cap off 3.Put the heater on full heat 4.Let it burp and fill accordingly. 5.You can also try moving some of the hoses up and down whilst the engine is running

Here is an example of a pathfinder that was 4wd but the cv's cant handle the stress with the longer travel arms so its just 2wd now Link.
-
Or a prerunner, most of them are 2wd
-
Interesting. Do you think it would be worth swapping any of these components over like the diff or cv for added strength? or are they just the same parts.

wd21 Terranos have a reservoir for the rear nozzle

If he were to change to a newer box would he need a custom drive shaft or are all the boxes the same length?

Do-able but it would take allot more fab, time and money. Im sure right now you just want to enjoy your sick bumper/winch combo -

No, like cutting some of the actual bumper bar and mounting the winch more into it (So it moves more back or towards the vehicle) with some of the winch sticking out. If possible -

Is there any chance of cutting up the bumper bar and pushing in the winch to help increase your approach angle? Just an idea but it still looks BOSS -
Sorry to bring up an old thread but how did it go? and did he end up sending you more pictures? Cheers.

No worries, Basically im trying to educate my self as much as i can on 4x4 suspension systems as they're my weak spot. I generally work on engines.
-
The way I see it is this is basically how all 4 links are and perhaps a better way would be to have a bar that can extend not necessarily use shocks in the linkages like in the first video but to use a hollow tube bar with another bar on the inside similar to a shock with some kind of stop so they don't just flex all the way and come undone. This way it wont arc like you see in the third link.
-
Heres another video abit over exaggerated but yeh im guessing this means that most 4 links move back and forth as the suspension flexes? Link
-
Found this on youtube, seemed interesting so i decided to share Wouldn't this be better than a solid link as it actually has room to move where as a solid link (from what i see) would move more foreward when both wheels flex down? Edit: This might explain what im trying to say a little bit better
