  1. Try swapping springs. I have been fighting same problem and I have 4 link , so the panhard bar is not going to change any thing . I believe the problem is the jeep springs and the pigtail that will not let spring sit flat on upper perch the way stock spring's do. When I reinstalled my Cal-Mini springs back in, it sit's level . That is my theory . I ended up putting jeep spring's back in since they are 8" lift coils and ignoring lean since I tried everything else. Good luck.
  2. Thanks. I figure I will keep looking for the next couple day's till my new clutch get's here. Then I will have to make a decision on making my own worst case .
  3. No I do not want a monster truck. 37" is as big as I would like to go anything bigger and I think I will start breaking axle parts. I have found that we continue to hit harder trails with bigger rocks and the 37" makes them a little easier.
  4. I have done it. It is not to hard. You will want to make a jig to hold front axle.Trust me on this. I was in a hurry and did not take enough time to set up caster angles properly and it is alot of work to fix it. You have to cut the front part of the axle housing off.(where the 3 rd member would fit in). I used a 8" x1/4 pipe cap. Yes a 8" pipe cap. Then you will need to cut axle tube toward knuckle with large pipe cutter. Do not cut all the way through pipe.I then used a large bar to turn knuckle's 180 degree's. This is where your caster angle will get screwed up if you do not take your time. If your caster angle is not right . THE TRUCK WILL NOT! Drive down the road very well. Once your pipe cap is installed you will need to drill out one top and one bottom hole in the 3rd member larger. After that the 3rd member will slide right in. I went with trail gear high steer arms and there tie rod, drag link set up. They use a fj 80 tie rod end. I found that you can use the FJ 80 tie rod end in the nissan steering arm , but it has to be put in upside down(from top). It has worked well for me I have not had any problems. FYI Sky manufacture makes the shortest steering arms . You do not need to use Cal Mini SAS kit.You can use one for toyota.I can tell you more about that if your interested. I will dig out pic's if you would like to see it. I can probably post Sunday or Monday. I am not sure if you can see it very well on you tube. Hope that help's www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM-MeBodpq0
  5. HI everyone. I have about 7- 8" of suspension lift. Check out video on you tube . It's listed as nissan pathfinder 4 link. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM-MeBodpq0 It has SteveO's 4 link. He has double cardan on his pathy,he is also using an atlas. His 4 link would not normally need a SYE,but most people would not go as high as mine. The four link work's GREAT. My limit on suspension right now is the driveline. I moved my axle back more than an inch from stock and with lift it starts to bind. In full droop it will get very close to falling out. I know I could lengthen the D.L. but that won't stop binding. There are also different joints I could add.The problem I have is I try to carry a spare D.L.just in case I am in the middle of no where when I twist one on rocks. I am experimenting with suspension. I am hoping to fit 37" tires without cutting my fenders. This is my work in progress and I am looking for the limit's with different set up's. Thanks everyone.
  6. Tap the brake and it should engage. The factory LSD is not that great. It will never work like a locker.
  7. Does anyone know where I can get a slip yoke eliminator? Cal Mini no longer carries them. I talked to Tom Woods driveline,he said he could probably make me one but it's going to be expensive.I thought about taking the slip yoke and cutting it in half, then welding a 1310 yoke on it.Then drilling hole in shaft to tread bolt into it to hold yoke in. Not to sure if I could get it perfect, which would cause bad vibration.Crude I know. Any thought's or suggestions would be appreciated. Waiting for new center force clutch to come in,so have a few day's to figure it out. Thank's
  8. I live at 6200' and drive over a 9500' pass often. It is pretty gut less at high alt. It's funny when you get to sea level, and it feels like a sport's car.
  9. Extended my wheel base by 1" to try too fit 37" tires. Nice to have adjustable 4 link.
  10. You could pick up a dana 44 wagoneer axle from J.W. auto wreckers in Sacramento. They only do jeeps and are pretty reasonable.(916)723-3950 I would not bother with dana 30 you would be wasting your money.Dana 60 is to big unless you are only going to be using it on trails. Good Luck on what ever you choose. This is for mauitrailguy
  11. The patrol front axle is passenger drop.I believe the transfer case in your double cab is driver's side output.I might be wrong on this but you should check. I only know this because I was going to have my brother in law ship me a patrol axle from England and found it would not work. This is for austin316
  12. Thanks for info. I have one now, my buddy still had my old one from my 4runner.Pretty good since I rolled it 4 years ago. It looks identical to nissan's. I imagine it was made by same company. I like the install above the radio. It looks very clean. Thank's nunya yes I remembered after I wrote the post it was an altimeter not a compass.
  13. Depends on what you want.Cal Mini has after market stuff. It's good quality ,but they do not have very good customer service either. Try Steven at Rugged Rocks.com/ He has been good to me and can get most after market and is very knowledgeable. Not many places carry Nissan. Trail gear has alot of good parts, but mostly toyota and suzuki. I am running a toyota front axle and used alot of there parts. The customer service was top notch. Good luck.
  14. WOW! I think everyone that suggests the 3.3 swap have the right idea, add 4.90 gears you are done. How driveable do you want your P.F.? My experience is the more you change the more tinkering you end up doing to get everything working right. Is cost a factor? If it is think of what it will cost and double it. Trust me look at my truck. If you want V8 power buy a new pathfinder. If you want reliability keep your 100km 3.0 and change gears.Of course that's just my opinion.I am sure some will agree some will disagree.
  15. Thanks I am going to get one from ebay and fab something up.I want it on top of dash so I will figure something out.
  16. Thanks for all the info guys.Yes, I know dam rounded dash. I have found them before for square dash,I just did not want to spend money to see if I could modify to fit round dash. I am debating on ones on ebay though.Last time I looked they were $200. Leave it to U.S. to not option some of the good stuff.
  17. Hello everybody.I was wondering if anyone knew where could get a hold of the gauge pod on dashboard.I believe it has a compass and degree for up and down slope and side to side.I used to have one in my 4 runner, but have not had any luck locating one for my 1995 pathy. Thanks guys
  18. Wow you guys are bored.I run 10W-30 castrol with Fram filters and what ever else gets what is on sale.It gets changed so often it does not matter.150k of abuse and no leaks.
  19. I get about 12-14 mpg all around.I have a lead foot and like to drive 75-80 on highway.Pathfinder has 10" of lift. So I can't complain.
  20. Maybe you should look at your axle gear ratio first. It would be alot easier in the long run.If you only have 100k on engine it would probably make more sense.4.90's would work great.
  21. Scouts are great,I had a 1978 scout II just got bored with it.The 345 and 727 are pretty bullet proof.Anything Scout have alot of parts. There are other companies that also have parts. Have fun with it.
  22. Hi Mark, I am not to sure on R 180 to R200.Why don't you SAS ? It would be better in the long run. You will need to do a body lift and have your arms cranked all the way down for 33" not to rub. It also puts a lot of strain on the steering, C.V.s and boots. The only reason I mention this is I also had 33" with IFS. I finally did SAS.It would of saved some money in long run doing SAS to begin with. The rear third member does not matter if you are going with ARB or detroit locker.I just did detroit swap into L.S.D. went just fine. You unbolt ring gear from L.S.D. and bolt it to D.L. or ARB. Make sure you get back lash set correctly. You want to make sure you get new bearings and seals before you start. You might want to get axle seals at same time.Mine was leaking onto parking brake just enough to where I could never get it to work properly.Axle seals are a bit of a pain to change also. Good luck hopefully this helps.
  23. I don't know if this helps, but Toyota lines will work also if you can find the same ends. That's what I am using and they were easy to find. Good luck
  24. Thanks for info.One in Stockton,Ca. shows 10 pathfinder's in stock.Unfortunately it is a premier store,so no half price.
