im tring to get a high flow cat i get pulled over for dumb reasons and thats just one less i dont need. I have a 40 series muffler and no cat. it sounds cool but its way to loud cops hate it.
-
where did you guys get the cat and how much? i saw a highflow one on ebay for 60 i cant remember if it was flowmaster or magna flow
-
yeah defiantly a nice car but its no where near as ruggid as the wd21 or the r50
-
hmm thats defiantly werid the fiurst video makes it look like a bad sensor or something. do those havea throttle positioning sensor?
-
ha well its my parents and they dont do any of that stuff it will probably stay stock more of its life. I just figured i post it up because most people do when they get a new one in the family!
-
yeah get new plugs and stuff and go from there those are fowled out
-
my guess is hes having a bad spark problem so plugs wires cap and rotor will fix it i bet. coil might have gone out. idk i have one if u need it.
-
my 300zx has that problem lol
-
i would just spend the 70 bucks on a high flow cat. i have a cold air intake off ebay and it seems to make a dfiference. I really like it. plusi t sounds cool!
-
sticky throttle cable? idk. do those have MAF? I probably cant help much i have a vg30e
-
well i would say that you are having a spark problem. I would say new plug wires cap and rotor would hep but thats just me. if you havent done that in a long time it might be a good idea anyways
-
yeah np idk if that stuff will work but thats stuff i would check. i would wait to get the pump until after you check the plugs. if the plugs are garbage then a new pump would just do the same thing. You could just be flooding your motor out. if the plugs are all white (very white and alot of it)on the end then its not enough fuel(in that case get a new pump). if they are soaked in gas then you have a spark problem. and i would look into new plus wires cap and rotar. possibly a coil?
-
pretty sure white smoke means burning coolant, blue smoke is oil, and idk what black is. But blowing white smoke or blue smoke is normally not good. Are you sure your getting good spark? you might have flooded it out and its doing that due to poor spark. check your plugs and wires. I would also check and see if you have oil in your coolant or coolant in the oil. If so head gasket might have went. my guess is spark or fuel pump though. can you hear the pump when you turn the key to on? you should hear the pump humming.

Not to call you out but actually you can its a little spring in there you need to just get the spring rate correct... I was able to do it to mine. I would put it on and see how far it was off with a short test drive becasue i knew what speed i should be going in 4th gear so I stuck to that and it came out perfect. since i drove for 6 months with out a speedo i knew that from drivng past speed senors. (mines a manual) So if it was off then i would pull it off and stick it further down from the peg and then stick it up on top of the little peg that holds it so it there is some tension there for the spring. After about 6 tries or so i got it spot on i have driven past the speed senors they randomaly place in town to tell you to slow down and it has been on every time. you do the same thing for all the needles. the tach one is easy too you just need to turn the car on and see whats its ideling at( with the old one) then take the new clust and keep tring it until u get it to what the oringal read. thats what i did with all my needles on mine when i took it off to change the back lighting (i didnt change the bulbs i put blue plastic behind the panels). Works fine for me and is as accurate as it was before i took them off. I garentee that this method works. Plus there are no speedo shops where i live so this was the only way for it to work for me.

My parents just traded in our 92 LandCruiser (still a great car will be missed but had to get better mpg) for a 2006 Silver Pathfinder LE. Got it with 36k miles for $15,400. The sticker price was around $40,000 new I think? Was fully loaded besides navigation. It is basically stock besides having aftermarket grill inserts, bug deflector and sun roof deflector. I really like the updated ones they have defiantly come along aways from my 92 pathfinder SE lol. They seem to have plenty of power! The nissans have finally taken over my family we currently have a 86 nissan 300zx (mine), 92 Pathfinder (mine), 2006 Pathfinder , 99 vw volkwagen , and a 03 ford escape(POS! lol). Ill get better ones later but heres a few from the lot this isnt a picture of ours but here is what the grill looks like http://www.carid.com/images/grilles/precision/PG-609095.jpg

I have one of the either 87 88 or 89 clusters.....worked to my understanding but you will need to configure the needles they were taken off when my freind tried ti put white guages in but never finished so he put it back together and gave it to me. wont work in my 92. idk if u cant find one let me know its not going anywhere reads like 230k miles though. everything seemed to work in my 92 besides the cluster but ik for a fact all the needles are probably off so remember how yours is and just make it the same. PM me about it. I had to do this to my 92 after i fixed my original dash and changed the color of it

94 Pathy, slow cranking or dead starter, Not the battery!
edicer2 replied to Buddhahead's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
STARTER! I can almost guarentee it. MIne was like that on both my poathfinder before they went. they would sometimes start then othertimes be slow or sometimes notstart at all. ALl problems disappeared with a new one. -
sounds like the filter to me. I had to replace that onemy 300zx (same motor) and it made a huge difference. You might also have caused the fuel pump to start to go. isnt it hard on them to run low on gas? Idk just another option
-
when your starter is going out its sort of intermittent my guess is it is junk and needs to be replaced. Can you hear the clicking noise when you turn the key? like one click then its over. if so then its 90% chance its your starter. i dont think its your ignition if it started up before after it had quit working. Same thing happened to mine and it was my starter it did it on my last one too. try hitting the starter might help but i still thin kthats the problem
-
starter problems are intermitent. when mine went out it wouldnt click then i could keep doing it and it would eventually start again. idk then after a few weeks it quit working completly so i bought a new one
-
use a volt meter and see if your getting 12v to the starter when you turn the key.
-
yeah my guess is the alarm wasnt wired right. Plus its a viper :-p rip that out and install a compustar!

I have a manual MAF from a 93

surges/misfires on acceleration at normal running temp
edicer2 replied to 94mudrat's topic in The Garage
defiantly check the wire going to the maf. my freinds pathy the hood would make it act kinda like yours becasue it put a short in the maf connector due to years of it hitting the hood. Where are you located? If in the US and u still want a used one from my old 93 i parted out let me know. SOmeone already has dibs on it but if they dont want it i was thinking about 30 bucks +shipping
