  1. For me, changing my own oil gives me a piece of mind that it was done right. Plus I get the personal satisfaction of doing something constructive that day. Beer + chore =
  2. Replaced the radiator with some cheap "made in China" unit. Fits like a glove, however, had to trim some plastic molding flash off of the filler spout so the cap would screw on it properly.
  3. I could understand if they started with a beater. What a wasteful shame.
  4. +2 for the AC's. We do a lot of tailgaiting during college football season and haul some fairly heavy gear (tables, chairs, tv, sat., stereo, coolers, canopy, etc.) and four large adults. In fact, the whole worn our factory suspension on "game day" led me to lifting my Pathy and hanging out here with you guys. My brother occasionally borrows my R50 to haul his fiberglass fishing boat to our local lake and he claims he has no problems "bottoming out" on bumps and pot holes.
  5. I am truly amazed at the amount of rust you guys and gals get. Even the springs are rusted!
  6. When you select 4wd in the cabin you should have a "dummy" indicator light on your instrument cluster. Does the light go off after you disengage the 4wd?
  7. Wow ... Very clean R50 indeed! Nice action shot of the "peel-out" as well.
  8. Is there any information on the Titan wheel back spacing?
  9. Weird? Are you experiencing any HP loss (noticeable) on acceleration? My timing jumped a couple of months ago and I recall that my plugs on both banks looked extremely "carbed up". I can't recall, however, if one bank was worse than the other though.
  10. I thought that excessive swear words were part of wheelin'? lol!
  11. With the engine idling, loosen the distributor cap and gently nudge it counter clock wise to advance the timing and clock wise to retard it. Of course, this is under the assumption that the dizzy on the VG30E spins in the same direction as my VG33E.
  12. And a new tensioner pulley. I had to go into my TB twice within a month.
  13. Welcome to the "happy" Duratrac family. Admit it, you wanted them all this time!
  14. Very informative first post! Good call on the socket extension sequence as well. I wish that I had thought of that before mine came apart under the plenum. Thankfully the plug had already came out and I was able to use my mechanics magnet to retrieve the mechanism.
  15. Have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor? There is a write up in the "How To" section somewhere. Also, when was the last time you did a tune-up? Changing the plugs could make a world of difference. Make sure to check the #6 plug as it is pretty difficult to replace and is often "skipped". Probably not your problem but,
  16. Yep. My Duratrac's have the snow emblem. Now, if we could just get some snow down here I could contribute to this thread.
  17. Nice side-by-side pic. That "newer" Pathy is the same as mine. I need to find a stock R50 and take some pics.
  18. lol! I said I want to see pics. No flameage intended.
