  1. Check with your auto parts store about "renting" the compression gauge. They will "charge" you the full price of the tool but, will reimburse you the full amount when you return it within a specific time. I had the benefit of borrowing one of my friends that happens to be a mechanic.
  2. I have the NX4 1" spacers to level out my rake and personally love the look. However, I have installed manual hubs to disengage my CV's from spinning while I'm not wheeling. No problems so far ...
  3. Odd, the clip is not listed on "my" exploded view (99-04) but, it deff has them. Huge PIA on the drivers side w/o removing the breather box.
  4. Good call on the tension pulley. I did not change that and almost lost my engine for the second time in as many weeks months. I should be punched in the face for not replacing it while I was in there. After my second timing belt mishap I am almost convinced that the VG33 engine is not an interference motor. I'm just not that lucky.
  5. I too torque them by hand. 90 lbs
  6. Double check the spare tire and the rubber "bumper stops" that should be between the spare and the body while your down there.
  7. Have you checked the timing? If its off just a degree or two it would sound fine at lower rpm's but show its ugly head at higher revs.
  8. I am running 15x8 ProComp's on mine with the exact same specs you are considering. I had my brakes, rotors, and calipers replaced since the wheel swap and did not have any issues at all. I too was concerned and warned the mechanic that was doing the break job of the possibility of clearance issues. He carefully mounted the wheels and claimed that he didn't detect any rubbing. I'll admit, the calipers are really f'in close to the wheel though!
  9. Hmmm .. I don't recall mine binding up when my hubs are locked. Have you checked the transfer case or the front diff for signs of oil leaks?
  10. It could be possible that the alternator is having difficulty keeping up with the extra electrical load. I just recently replaced my alternator and have seen significant change in power window speeds. I only replaced it because the bearing was going out on it.
  11. Okay. This is not the same issue but, I replaced my power steering belt and everything is fine now. Just throwing that out there.
  12. Changed the oil and replaced all three belts. That is all.
  13. I like this idea but, instead of turning on the flashers I'd turn on the left then right turn signals to narrow down which side the possible wiring issue is.
  14. I've got a 99.5 with the 2" AC lift. That, added with the 31" (you could easily go with 32's) gave me a very noticeable lift. Check out my build thread here
  15. I assume that you have checked the oil level? What weight motor oil do you currently use?
  16. This may sound crazy but, I've recently developed some play in my steering and noticed that the steering wheel hesitates to return to the straight position after making the turn. I also noticed that I have a lot of slack in my power steering belt and plan to change it this weekend. I'll post back here the results (if any). *i don't hear any popping though.
  17. That TLC will get you a lot of happy miles my friend.
  18. Does this only happen when you are in 4wd or does it happen all the time?
  19. Trust me, it's worth the price he's asking. I'm happy that another member here sold me his!
  20. Good luck! How long did it take to pull her out?
  21. I've been into my TB twice now. I feel that I'm a pro now!
