  1. the ride height is different from side to side by one full inch. heres some pics. drivers side sits lower. passenger side is higher. driver side measure 9 1/4 from top of tire to top of fender well. passenger side has 10 inches on the dot from top of tire to top of fender well. this is the side that is lower (looks seated nicely) this is the side thats higher, i can see it denting the rubber where the end of the spring sits high side. low side. maybe it's just an illusion but the coils seem compressed more on the low side? looks like its sitting more flush with the spring perch and the high side seems like its still going on an angle upwards and is denting into the rubber more, why is that? i think that is where my issue lies...
  2. okay I just double checked the springs looked seated properly. the only thing i can tell that looks a little different on the two is this... The upper coil seems like it is squishing down more on the side thats lower... like it seems like it looks more like the bottom as in the coil is flattened more parallel to the upper spring mount. the side that is higher looks like the upper coil is on more of an angle and didnt flatten out as much? as in the end of the spring hasnt flattened to seat around the spring mount as much as the other side. the edge of of spring coil is kind of still angled up and pushing hard on a spot on the rubber. did the spring bind into the rubber isolator when i put the weight back down ? i would think it would still flatten out and adjust itself to where it should be ... hmm hard to describe ill see if i can get a picture of it that u can see what i mean....

  4. dowser when you say undo the panhard bar. you mean undo it and then re tighten it right? lol will it shift position a little ? or is this just to diagnose...?
  5. see thats the problem.... its the passenger side that is higher. by close to an inch
  6. also i remember in the junkyard the one spring was unloaded and sitting free and the other spring still had weight bearing on it from the shock being attached. maybe the one spring still needs to settle(the one that was unloaded) ? just a thought...
  7. the springs are definitely same diameter i pulled them off a jeep and they still had the yellow paper tags with the part number on them and they were the same. hmm.. it seems to have levelled out slightly since driving it but its still off a bit. i believe the springs are seated properly i did line the bottoms of the springs up to where the oem springs where i could see the marks in the dirt lol so i put them back to the same spot on the bottoms... hmm one sec ill go double check the tops are seated the same... i noticed when i jacked up the rear to take them out one side flexed more than the other as in when my jack maxed out one tire was off the ground and the other was still touching and i could visibly see it was extendding the shock further.. the ebrake cable was tight but i could move it with my hands so it wasnt THAT tight i doubt it was holding the weight of that wheel off the ground... but the shock was extended more on the side that *didnt* lift off the ground. is there supposed to be more flex on the passenger side wheel? or am i just tripping and it was the ebrake cable holding the driver side rear wheel up off the ground...?? anyways the side that flexed more happens to be the side that is sitting higher if that matters.... **edit: i did reuse the upper spring isolator and i am running ford f350 rear shocks with much longer than stock extension travel**
  8. Hey everyone. I installed my JGC springs today and when i dropped the rear back down to my dismay it was sitting uneven!!. i checked the front clearances and they are bang on at 8.5 inches from tire to roof of fender well. the rear i have 10 inches from top of tire to top of fender well on one side and 9 inches on the other. it is visibly off. can't tell from the front but can tell from the rear. are the 2 front jeep springs different spring rates ?? could they be this uneven if i made my cuts 1/16th of an inch off??? im confused here the 2 pigtails were exactly the same size after i cut them.... was thinking of swapping the springs side for side... to see what that does... maybe try that and see if maybe it's sitting lower cause of my spare tire on the one side in my trunk?? my truck has more weight on one side or something? maybe swap the springs side for side so the one thats higher has the spare tire weight over it and then cut the taller spring bit by bit until it sits level ? just throwing out my ideas !! thanks if anyone has any insight.
  9. I just had my seats out yesterday. 93 xe that came with cloth seats. swapped in some leathers (non power) and i noticed the harness plug was right there to be plugged in on both sides. not sure about the one in the dash but there area few loose harnesses when iw as doing my stereo that i had to move out of the way, maybe it's one of them. by the way, where is the location of the factory heated seat switch ?
  10. Lol. you took off your skidplate to brake clean your gas tank? now that is devotion! closest u will see me in there is with the end nozzle of the local gas station pressure washer i tip my hat to you good sir. lol
  11. Looked at my JGC springs... looked at the rain.... decided a smaller project is in order.... so... Pulled the front leathers and sewed up the large rips in the driver seat and threw on some seat covers. all the seats look nice now! and the rips were so bad in the driver seat its actually more comfortable now.... lol sigh I really want to find some nice clean black leather heated seats....
  12. Dude the easiest way is to crack the coolant bleeder bolt on the intake manifold...fill fluid in the rad until fluid comes out the bleeder hole....put bolt back in... perfectly bled coolant system every time. that is why it's there after all.

I don't want to start a war on Toyota or anything, but it seems like ALL their cars have cooling/head gasket issues.

  18. i just ordered the generic full front end kit from ebay (but it had the lime green background in the pictures, so prob same parts just diff seller). the price was pretty much the same. i am going to install them today/tomorrow as i can sure notice my front end play with my 33x12.5 tires and 15x10 steel rims lol. the parts arrived and were packaged well and they look to be very high quality i must say. every single joint has a greasable zerk fitting as well! very nice feature to have that on every balljoint/steering joint. ill let you know how everything goes and how they feel after. EDIT:: that kit also has swar bar end links. nice one, mine didnt.
  19. also will say it went through the mud pit area with ease compared to a 91 toyota pickup with a welded rear and 31" bfg ats. oh and yes they are 15x10 steel rims that I powdercoated at work.
  20. Will do man. these tires so far are the best all around tire that me or any of my friends have ridden with all our trucks combined. they went through the local mud hole in a spot with my wd21 with the 33x12.5 duratracs with an OPEN diff, that a r50 with bfg all terrain 31x10.5 with a LSD got stuck in over and over and had to take an alternate route. the difference was not only there but HUGE. while his got stuck repeatedly, mine just crawled through without even so much as slipping. and i barely had to rev it to make it up the hill after. these things GRIP. its a deep rutted mud hole with lots of big roots throughout and a slippery hill at the end of it with a few large ruts right before the incline. kind of tricky spot. the ride on the road is also FAR better than the stock size yoko geolanders (old style) that i had on before. very little highway noise. my mileage is actually quite good (but i also just did a vg33 swap and headers/exhaust/intake so that could have something to do with it) they are also extremely good in the rain. we get a LOT of rain where i live and very large puddles gather on the highway sometimes spanning the entire 2 lane section for a good 20 or 30 feet. even up to 4 inches of water in bad spots. extreme hydroplane risk. they take it like a champion i can cruise through large puddles at 100 no problem. they never feel sketchy around corners or in bad weather. now i will just have to see what kind of mileage i get out of them. going to replace the front end parts and get an alignment to make sure they last as logn as possible.
  21. Yeah unfortunately they said they don't offer roadside warranty on off-road tires.. only passenger tires.. so I freaked out and got really mad and they ended up giving me a new one for store-cost and free balance and labour. I'm going to contact Goodyear directly to try and get them to reimburse me for the rest. Not the worst case I suppose.
  22. ya man i would suggest some graphite lock lube (or just graphite lube). it will actually stick to the surfaces you spray it on and it isn't affected by the cold.
  23. 1 inch cut in the sidewall of my brand new 33x12.5 duratrac. wow what a sweet and awesome day.... at least it can be repaired as a trail spare....i wonder if the tire shop is gunna make me buy a new one. probably!!!
