What brand & temperature thermostat did you install? Inspect the radiator cap according to this TSB and replace with a new one (preferably OEM) if required.

EC-59 has idle air volume relearn procedures.

The SilverStars have blue coating on the bulbs which actually reduces light output despite looking brighter. I would never purchase bulbs with any blue coating.

Ever done a pan drop and filter change? The pan filter is a rock catcher, so it probably hasn't caught much, but it wouldn't hurt to rule it out either. Lubeguard Red is a transmission additive that may help with your issue. Many transmission shops use it and can back it up. I also use it in my trans and it seems to have smoothed out shifts, especially in and out of overdrive.

FSM lists GL-4 only, so definitely get correct fluid. Redline MT-90 is available on Amazon, but I've read anecdotes that the Amsoil MTG provides better shift feel, especially after several thousand miles.

It's probably GL-5 rated. Get Amsoil MTG or Redline MT-90 in your trans ASAP and bleed your clutch slave cylinder too til fresh fluid comes out. Use DOT3 or DOT4 fluid.

Ah I thought you had an auto, my bad. What gear oil did you use? You MUST use GL-4 fluid, not any GL-5 stuff.

Did you check it correctly when hot?

2002 headlights are already relayed, upgrading to a harness with thicker gauge wiring will provide marginal benefits.

Matic J??? That doesn't go in the RE4R01A. Put Matic D or any fluid that claims to meet Dexron III in (preferably synthetic).

Yeah, 2001.0 models have more common occurrences of ignition coil problems. VGs have a traditional set up with a distributor, not individual coil packs per spark plug.

Hitachi ones are OK.

Yes, that's fine as long as you don't have any play in the wheel bearings.

Have you checked your power valve screws? With such excessive oil consumption it sounds like a power valve screw (or more than one) could have been ingested and caused damage.

A bottle of Techron may help lower emissions as well (not enough to pass from those numbers I think though, so absolutely check your EGR valve). Either way, it can't hurt.

I like how AutoGroan's site says "Radiator Cooling System" for the "Automotive System Application". Was it some thick stuff? Well, at least you didn't throw some Lucas snot in there. If the leak stays stopped after an oil change or two, even better!
