  1. Hehehehe, muffler bearing... The only things that cause pipe gaskets to fail are improper mounting of the exhaust(which allows it to wobble around and physically break the joints), a broken motor or tranny mount(same thing), or excessive backpressure due to a clogged cat or smashed muffler or exhaust tip.
  2. That's my rock bar. I made it out of a 1.25" thick eight-foot utility pole anchor. It can be hammered into the ground or sand for a tow point, stuffed inbetween rocks or behind a tree, or used to pry rocks out of the way when offroad.
  3. Sounds like your brake calipers are sticking slightly. Take the calipers off, remove the slide pins and make sure they're in perfect shape with some new grease and all before putting them back on. Get a 6mm hex socket wrench and use a ratchet to take the bolts out, they're really tight to begin with from the factory.
  4. You guys need a breaker bar and some more muscle, heh.
  5. Ebay or a local parts store. Pick up a Maxima MAFS adapter plate, oval out a couple of holes so it bolts on, a 3" cone filter and you'll have the same thing as the expensive kits, only about $25-45.
  6. It's on top of the transfer case.
  7. Dude, I don't know why you're even considering it. If you can find someone reliable other than the dealership to install new gears in your stock diffs, I'd be surprised. You're not going to get your money back on that one AT ALL. It'd be amazingly cheaper to go back to 30 x 9.5 tires and just leave it at that. Bottom line is, you can't have your cake and eat it too on this one. $2500 for two R/P sets and install with an ARB rear? Nice. Two sets of gears from NISMO: $1000 One ARB rear air locker: $690 One ARB air compressor: $225 Install cost for both front and rear gears, run-in, install of ARB locker and air lines: ?????(I'm thinking along the lines of another $1000 with all the work that needs to be done) Total: At least $2915. Ouch.
  8. I'd say if it runs allright, doesn't smoke and still passes emissions after fixing any problems, leave it alone. Just give 'er some love in the form of a new timing belt, oil change, water pump, etc. Find out if any previous owners have had anything else done to it, too.
  9. If they rock side to side by hand and/or are visibly puking grease out of the boots, then they're probably on their way out. Try this: have someone move the steering wheel back and forth rapidly while you watch the tie rod ends for play or looseness.
  10. Um, shocks don't have anything to do with load carrying capacity, only shock absorption. It's a unibody mommy-mobile, what do you expect?
  11. The M90 intake port is directly in the rear of it, so it doesn't really matter which side you use...
  12. You don't even want to consider it unless you have major $$$ laying around and nothing better to do with it. The only place to get different gears is NISMO parts from the dealership. The ring and pinion gears for the rear alone are $500. By themselves. Not installed. Try going from 31's to 33's sometime, it's even better I tell ya!
  13. The full HB kit doesn't, but the UCA's themselves are the same.
  14. Probably in the neighborhood of $200 or so. I don't really know for sure.
  15. It's more likely that the battery cables are corroded and need cleaning or replacing. With the problem appearing shortly after changing the battery, I'd start looking at the battery connections first.
  16. Ow, dude. Ask for an electric fan instead and put that in. Mine works great. Came from a Quest minivan.
  17. That one in particular isn't US-legal cause it puts out 5 watts. FCC regs say the max you can have is 4 watts.
  18. Ditto on the HP numbers, and nope on the cost effectiveness. A wet nitrous kit is the cheapest way to increase HP reliably. ...but forced induction is a nice, renewable, reliable setup that will effectively add power without requiring refills on a tank of compressed gas...
  19. Yep, it's possible. Lots of people have done it, but it still doesn't work as well as a solid axle up front.
  20. I don't think he ever got around to it, but I made my own. BEFORE: AFTER:
  21. Yeah, leaking manifolds can make for poor gas mileage too. Cool beans.
  22. They are the Superlift arms, just repainted and repackaged for Rough Country.
  23. Yup. Easy stuff. Remove the lower panhard rod mounting bolt, pull the bar off and let it droop down, then unbolt the shocks.
  24. I live in Oregon, not Washington.
