Found out today the lower end had to be almost cut in half to get the ball mount out, is there an easier way??
-
I was thinking today of trying to modify the hardbody grille to fit the PF's headlights, have to get it out of storage and look at it next to the PF No the grill in my above pics was not custom, there was a company years ago that sold them, the lights are nice they can be adjusted by turning 2 phillips screws, I got the grille from my old job but no idea who made them or where my boss got them from

swapping maxima dual cooling fan to pathfinder?
ahardb0dy replied to ahardb0dy's topic in General Forums
what year Taurus? is it a single or double fan? I figured the dual fan would be good, wire the main one to a thermostat and than wire the second one thru a relay to come on when the AC button is pressed in. Saw one at the junkyard today but it looked like it saw better days (maxima fan I meant) -
I would think you would also want to test it to make sure it is flowing ok, guess that's wy they used to sell test pipes to see how the truck ran after you removed the cat.
-
Ok, went to junkyard today (2 actually) it was a rainy day but at least it wasn't 90 + degrees, not much found from the "list", no 4wd hardbody's so no transfer case shifter, all the AIV boxes I did see were rusted to hell, no intact consoles, the rear trim for the window is no problem, broke the first one taking it off but there were plenty others, unfortunately didn't have enough money today to get it, but I will when I go back this coming weekend. Wish I had more money today, they had a pair of BFG mud terrains 31/10.50/15 that had to be at about 85% of their tread left, they looked almost new, and were the newer style, they were mounted on some 5 lug wheels but the junkyard would take the wheels back after the tires were unmounted, they would have cost $60 total (wheels and tires) than $30 when the wheels were returned but didn't have enough funds to get them, pisses me off will probably never see aa pair or set of tires that nice again and 2 mud terrains for $30!!! Oh well Finally found a set of the rear window struts from the 99 (thought it was a 98) pathfinder, oh the 99 was an auto so no manual console, wanted to ask, anyone ever swap one of those consoles into a WD21? looks like all that may be required is moving the E-brake over a little, but no idea if it is too wide for the WD21's interior, I'm sure the 99's are a little bigger overall?? So the struts I bought may have been aftermarket as they had the metal clip on the bottom end, Didn't know I would have to cut the bottom ends in half to get the "ball" out of the factory struts, what a pain in the butt!! well that was about it for me today, got the rear light base from the 99 and installed that, the rear door panel trim cover (where your arm would sit), and a few small toyota parts for free for my buddy. There had to be about 6-7 pathfinders in the second junkyard a few hardbody's all 2wd, first junkyard had the 87 2 door pathfinder and a few 2wd hardbody's but that was about it, also found a 125 amp alternator in a 96 maxima that I will get next time to put in my pathfinder, didn't feel like pulling it today in the rain so update my "list" and next weekend I'll keep my eyes open for anything you are looking for.

K&N or similiar air filter onto MAF question
ahardb0dy replied to ahardb0dy's topic in General Forums
did you make the adapter or where did you get it from? -
My 94 is doing the same exact thing, although I just had a JDM engine put in so no idea what year it actually is, I have a brand new battery all the connections are tight, when I changed my oil for the first time I knocked 2 wires off, one was for the oil pressure sender and the other went to the starter solenoid, The starter solenoid wire someone cut the factory plug off and put a crimp on connector on it but I crimped the end a little to make it have a tighter connection, also tye wrapped it to a wire near the fender opening in case it comes undone again it will be easier to get to. Question is, by adding the new relay the way it has been described here previously, doesn't the starter already use a relay from the factory? this is the starter diagram I just took out of the 94 FSM, where does the new relay get spliced in on here? thanks
-
No, didn't think it was hard just such a mix up of parts, what do you mean he cut the HB hood to work with the pathfinders headlights? thought the newer hood was a bolt on?
-
Was wondering if the dual cooling fan assembly out of a Nissan Maxima could be used on the pathfinder? Since they both use a variation of the VG30 engine the radiator should be about the same size, I know a thermostat of some type would have to be used but the fan for the AC could be wired thru a relay to come on with the AC anyway. What do you all think?
-
that's what I had in my 87 hardbody Hella headlights with the 80/100 bulbs
-
was just thinking that would look a little mixed up, 94 pathfinder with 87 hardbody style headlights with custom grille or 97 style hardbody grille and 97 hardbody hood (when I find one)
-
nice thing about those headlights is I had 80/100 watt replacement bulbs in them, nice considering a legal high beam is 65 watts
-
too bad this one won't fit with the pathfinders headlights:

going "shopping" tomorrow, LOL will print out "the list" tonight so I am ready, too bad they don't have coupons like supermarkets!! Anyone think of anything else they may be looking for let me know before 8 a.m and I will look for you
-
junkyard tomorrow than when I get home, (and it's 90 degrees out, I always seem to do stuff outside when it's the hottest!!) I will attack the window, have to pick up some more WD-40 just ran out, will let you all know how it goes, thanks for all the suggestions!!
-
I hear you, you'll get those bots out, took me a while on the last one that was stuck but it's out now and replaced the bolt already.
-
could have sworn it was a 7MM, have to check my socket set, when you do try to get them out, try to get the allen part in as far as it will go than smack the ratchet handle with your hand really quick or a hammer, if it still spins try the American sized equivalent to the metric it fits a little tighter in the head of the bolt your daily driver?? you should still be able to drive it with a torn boot since it's not in 4 wd anyway
-
also make sure if you use the socket type that you hit the end of the socket so the allen part is in as far as it will go, it helps, you can also spray them with lubricant a few days before you try to get them out
-
than you do what I just had to do, 3 of the 6 came right out the other 3 were stripping, used an American sized Allen, key the type in the socket and got 2 more out, oh what helped too was using a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter and using my impact gun, one quick shot with the impact gun and the 2 stuck ones came right out, last bolt wouldn't budge, tried using an easy out, left handed drill bit, a sears craftsman screw extractor, nothing worked, ended up cutting the head off with a dremel tool, than once the hub was off I unscrewed the darn bolt with my fingers !!! it must have been binding inside the hub, junkyard trip provided a few extra bolts for free
-
that's the messed up part, my buddy that I bought the truck from took the rear window and wing from this truck and swapped it into the 93 he bought, guess cause it had his club sticker and stuff on it, so I got the crappy tinted window that matches the rest of his 93 and he got the un tinted window that should have been in my truck!! He took the side steps off too!! BASTARD !! lol
-
they shouldn't rub since the pathfinders came with 31's from the factory. You may have to adjust the torsion bars slightly if your truck originally came with the smaller size
