  1. When I had my 01 Dakota with the 4.7 V8 I ordered and installed a flowmaster cat back, single 3" with the 50 series delta flow muffler, and it was too quiet, ended up removing the muffler and getting a 40 series than it sounded just right. Does anyone know of a source for a test pipe? to replace the cat and keep the flanges? I was looking in the junkyard I wanted to take the front and rear flanges from before and after the cat and use them to make a test pipe but the junkyard cuts all the cat's off so no exhaust under the trucks.
  2. That's what I plan to get when I change my muffler a flowmaster 40 series, let us know how it sounds, I had an original model flowmaster on my 87 way back and it sounded good until it cracked but this was when they first came out they didn't even have model numbers. Oh I had 2.25 after the muffler also

  4. Did the starter relay mod May 30th and it is still starting strong, hopefully it will continue to do so, Sentra is also still starting since I took the solenoid apart and cleaned it !!
  5. thanks I didn't make it to my 87 FSM yet, oh well bedtime for me have to be up in 4 hours for work, catch you all tomorrow evening have a good day
  6. we also have no inspections down here in Florida, good thing as my 87 hardbody even when all the emission equipment was intact would never pass inspection, I had heard a long time ago that Nissan rushed the VG30's into production and that's why they had emission problems, don't know how true that is. So no inspections where you live so you can hook up the lights either way as I suggested and as others did as well
  7. They really make a nice product, I remember when I was working in the 4x4 shop and they first came out, we were selling a lot of the dual beam rectangle shaped lights, they were nice that they had a full harness and everything was all plug and play. "so simple a caveman could install them", One of the reasons I bought my Hella Rally 2000's way back was because they used a magnesium body Just would like to thank everyone for the nice words on liking my rare grille, thanks anyone ever see one of them before?? May have to call my old boss and see if he can remember who made them or who he got them from, one thing I do know is they were delivered thru UPS and not our daily delivery from Keystone so I know it was a off the wall company, probably some company he saw at one of the trade shows somewhere.
  8. When I'm driving and someone is sitting in the pass. side seat or when I go over bumps I hear a noise, my coworker and I looked at it one day and while moving the seat side to side he noticed what looked like the floor flexing under the outer rear seat mount, the seat is bolted down firm as I had just had it out when I fixed the rear window problem and I know I tightened the bolt all the way. I looked under the rug and under the truck and there is no rust. Anyone ever experienced this? I was thinking I may have to reinforce the floor under that seat mount, the noise is annoying!! Thanks
  9. doesn't the automatics have some kind of metal plate between the engine and tranny? that may be different from the manual trans trucks??
  10. the leather boot I got from the junkyard had to come out of a 2 door pathfinder as I know there were no 4wd hardbody's there, it fits the console pretty good and the snaps line up but about 2" of the front is wide open, looks better than the one I had that was all torn up.
  11. I checked on the location last night in a FSM for a 96 D21 and it shows it in the same location, will have to check my 87 FSM, but unless the condenser is different I think they will all have to be in the same place as that is as far as the metal tube coming off the condenser will allow the drier to be mounted. Saturday if I go to the junkyard I'm going to check out the lights on the BMW 525 and other models that I saw had what looked like a similar sized light as the one's in my grille, and to see how thick they are. I went thru the entire Hella catalog online and didn't really see anything that I think would work but in the PIAA catalog they have a thin light about 2.5 front to rear but I may be able to have the front of the lens stick out thru the grill a little, only bad thing unless I can fine a pair of those PIAA's used they are expensive!! this is the PIAA model the 540 http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/540.html
  12. Ok, I'll have to try the 4 low thing, I've only had it in 4wd so far to see if it was working. I knew the shifters were different I was looking for a hardbody shifter last week at the junkyard for someone on here but all the hardbody's were 2wd
  13. Just got home from seeing Shrek in 3D Imax, we had more fun watching my wife's handicapped sister reacting to the 3D stuff, LOL And I just pulled one of those 4x4 covers off of a 2 door about a week ago at the junkyard, should have grabbed it, maybe Saturday, I have to take the fan clutch/fan blade back to the junkyard as it was no good.
  14. OK, I had an idea, I removed the springs that sit between the lights and the grille and adjusted the lights as far forward as they would go, I got the grille mounted and it is sitting about right, I will leave it like this until I can find thinner lights, a few pics below, also primed the bumper as I didn't have the paint I wanted to use right now: yes the front edge of the hood is gloss black (the original paint) and the rest is primer black
  15. I was just thinking of that before & decided against cutting the light holes in the "hardbody" grille, not raining anymore having some lunch right now than may go out to work on the pathfinder, really want to paint the front bumper today, if I have any of the paint left. maybe I'll just mount my 2 Hella Rally 2000's on top of the bumper!! I used to have 6 of them but over time 4 got crunched, but I have all the different lenses, cornering beam, euro, pencil beam, think that's all of them, pain in the rear part is each different lens takes a different bulb. Or to stick with square lights I have a pair of Dick Cepek C-1000's also, the big guns with the built in vent to cool the 210 Watt bulbs!! LOL
  16. off topic sorry, Yes Norman is a good guy over there, I asked him about a "frequent buyer discount" and he said ok, so far from them I have bought (all for my 90 sentra), the 5 speed tranny, a distributor, the dual cooling fan unit (for an automatic trans the main fan is a BEAST!!), 4 seat cushions (2 bottoms 2 backs), 2 door panels and a new carpet. Currently looking at PF carpet trying to match a front and rear set. I see they still have the tranny/transfer case combo but only for the 4 cylinder trucks.
  17. Ok, my 94 is an SE, as I said I didn't even know I had them as previous owner had them mixed 1 front 1 rear.
  18. are the 4 door PF's supposed to have 4 hole type headrests? or 2 hole 2 no hole?
  19. the "Hardbody" grille is only temporary until I can figure out a way to use the one with the lights, the first grille (with lights) actually doesn't look bad in the pics, in person you can see it is not sitting correctly. It's pouring here now but I may switch them again and see if I can use some spacers across the top edge so it sits uniform across the top. The "hardbody" grill is a pain in the butt to install and remove it uses 4 metal brackets that bolts it to the radiator core, Instead of using nuts and bolts to put it in I inserted rivnuts into the holes in the radiator core. As for the markers, the pass. side one sits funny on the fender for some reason, I just got that one from the junkyard, the bottom front slot was broken off on the original one.
  20. was just in my shed throwing getting the garbage to put out and was moving some extra parts around into a plastic tote and I found the full harness I removed for the driving lights, so guess I won't be following the wires tomorrow after all!! LOL at least I know what happened to the relay now!!
  21. what r u talking about? locking it in? It may have been from the body lift not allowing the shifter to move back as far as it was supposed to, it's been so long I'm not 100% sure of the particulars, I know we had to heat up the lever and bend it slightly.
  22. if your lights only come on when the headlights are on than the relay trigger is coming off the headlight power wire, do they only come on when the headlights are on low beam? or high beam also? all you would have to do is find the trigger wire, remove it from the headlight wire and run it to the switch
  23. are you talking about the headlights? These are regular sealed beam Sylvania's I would like to pick up a set of the Hella euro headlights eventually, I had them in my 87 Hardbody with 80 watt low and 100 watt high beams bulbs, only thing I don't recall them costing $50 each back than, guess everything goes up in price over time right? think tomorrow if the weather permits my bumper may meet some flat black spray paint, it sure needs it !! LOL
  24. I still have the wiring behind the bumper have to see if I can follow it to see where it goes tomorrow, thanks for the quick reply
