  1. You need to check your wiring harness. IIRC the injectors get power from the fuse box and the ECU ground them to spray. If you harness is shorted it will just remain fully open and spraying as much fuel as it can flow. James
  2. I like the license plate holder, might have to build one for myself. Are those mag light clips? James
  3. Is this the V6 or the 4 cyl with 8 plugs? James
  4. The Japanese build some nice sturdy vehicles but they can't solder worth a crap! James
  5. My XRC8 came with everything needed, except the bumper to put it on! Lol The relay box can be mounted over the spool or over the motor. Over the spool would have looked more centered but I figured it would be in the way when respooling the cable. It had more than enough battery cable since our battery is on the same side as the relay box, the hand held remote, fairlead with rusty E clips, and even a canvas cover that faded to gray in a months time. Still keeps the winch looking new though. James
  6. Yes I know what you mean. Some guys on clubtitan put a 90mm TB on their titans, they came with a 70mm or 76mm IIRC. Yes it snaps your neck when you take off but it doesn't yield much more acceleration. I'm just figuring that if I'm going with a 3.3 with aftermarket cams I should at least have the same size intake the 3.3 came with. In the project pathfinder article they never mentioned changing any of the intake parts other than a pop charger. James
  7. You should be able to turn off the traction control. My 04 titan had that, it was called VDC. Toyota might have a different name for it though. It scared the hell out of me the first time I made it fish tail on a gravel road! James
  8. I knew the TB from the VG33 wouldn't fit on the VG30 plenum, I was thinking of using the whole intake setup from the VG33. Is that what you did? That is what it looks like from all your pictures. How did everything fit? James
  9. I was planning on porting out the intake to match the TB. I know it has coolant passages but not sure how close they are to the TB area so I'm not sure how much I could take out. So you also think sticking with the VG30 intake on the VG33 motor would be better for low end? James
  10. Does anyone know the throttle body size on a VG33 pathfinder intake? Also does the air plenum have more volume than the VG30 plenum? I've been searching the web for this info and cant find it. I searched Z31.com but don't want to post the question because they insult almost every question asked! I'm putting parts together for my 3.3 build and was planning on using the 3.0 pathfinder intake with a 60mm throttle body. In the pick a part I compared the 60mm from a 240sx to a VG33 throttle body and the VG33 looks the same or larger. I found one site where a guys stated the VG33 pathfinder had a 70mm TB but it didn't seem like he knew what he was talking about. Now I'm not sure which intake I should use. If the VG33 intake has more volume won't that affect my low end power? Also anyone find a knowledgeable VG forum that is friendly like this one? I don't feel like getting insults instead of answers. James
  11. Or for the really lazy (efficient) americans we just use our Iphone app. James
  12. How was it to replace with the poly ones? Don't they make a two piece poly bushing that you just press in from each side? I've heard the poly bushings make the rear tighter than the stock bushings, this could be a good thing as long as they last. James
  13. The vent going to the intake tubing is for fresh filtered air to go into the crank case as the PCV pulls the vapors out the opposite side of the motor. It is explained in the FSM on page EF&EC 143. James
  14. Yes these cans work great as long as you keep the hoses a short as possible. James

    Rookie Move

That ratcheting noise was the parking pawl trying to engage the parking gear. The parking gear is basically a ring on the output shaft with a bunch of slots in it and the pawl is a rod that just goes into one of the slots to lock it. The pawl rod is spring loaded and rounded on the end to help it engage so as long as you aren't going to fast when you put it in park it will be ok. Also as long as it doesn't happen to engage a slot while rolling to fast. It could bend the pawl and jam it in the locked position or possibly crack the case. Usually it just makes the ratcheting noise. James
  16. Of course one for you too, the guy thats giving me guidance with my fuel injection project. If you fly down here and help me swap it out I'll give you like 100 positives! James
  17. +1 They must have been making some noise too! James
  18. With all the things you take apart inside your truck and your sentra you pay someone to change your timing belt? I don't blink an eye when it comes to taking apart the engine but I won't take apart my A/C switch until it doesn't work at all! James
  19. Great new, I'm glad you got it fixed. The dual pumps is a good idea too. James
  20. Aw come on B Like I said I'm a nice guy it bothers me if I offended some one that didn't ask for it. So that little positive and negative above the multiquote button is how you give rep points? So when someone doesn't like what I post and they give me negative rep it will show in the corner of that post? Ya I'm up to a +4 now! Positive to everyone in this thread James
  21. Did you get this fixed up yet or are you waiting for some warm weather? James
  22. I hope everyone knew I was joking about the tittle of this thread, I didn't think anyone would take it the wrong way. Might not be this thread either but someone left me a negative one on my reputation! I just noticed it after posting this thread. If I offended anyone I'm sorry I didn't mean to. I don't argue with anyone so I don't know why someone would X me like that! I'm a nice guy! James
  23. In less your locks are really worn out a lock smith could just repair them. I had a lock smith rekey 6 fleet trucks for a company I used to work for, ignitions and doors. Some crack head broke into the office and stole a lock box with the spare keys. I had to take them all out for him though. Unless the body of the locks are worn out he could put new wafers in them and they would work like new. I don't remember the cost but he was charging by the hour and I had him sitting in our yard till after 9 o clock waiting on the last truck, so it probably was alot. James
  24. I was thinking about the hardened spacer I talked about making and think it might not be a good idea to harden it because if it can't flex a little it might just break the bolt off. So I took one of the old Nissan factory washer type shims to work and had the inspections department test the hardness against a regular SAE washer. The SAE washer was close but actually a little harder than the Nissan washer so they should work just fine as shims. I'll just have to run a few on the surface grinder to get different thicknesses.
