So now having my bumper on I am in the markt for a good winch, just looking for one that is dependable bt also not going to put a huge dent in my pocket; I like smittybily xrc8 as 3 of my buddies have the same winch and it is very reliable and good for my wallet which I have found for $299.99 and it comes with a cover and free shipping from 4wheelparts.com; warn seems to be very expensive but I know they are also good ,but still and the same with superwinch and mile marker...... And I don't know about some offbrand winch although some of them are really good from what I hear every so often. Any ideas?

Well everyone has opinions and I am not holding yours against you, I am going to be able to see better both on and off the road since losing my fog lights with this bumper also. Thanks for liking my build and as for the other people on the road.... sorry.

Just went to ddmtuning.com and got the raptor 8000k hid kit, it was only $68; HB2/9003 HI/LO bulbs and ballast with ballast brakets shipped.

I ordered some Rancho RS5000's for a 2000 F250 with a 2" lift and had to modify the bushings to fit and love the way they handle

So I finally got the bumper mounted, we had to take the brush guard off which came off pretty easy and pull the bumper off and do a little cutting. Then we got some brackets fabbed up and fit the bumper on and tack welded them in then had to pull the bumper off and weld it all together then put back on with some grade 8 bolts. It is 3 contact points on each side so 6 in total, should be plenty strong. Now I need to get my lights on and my skid plate mounted but it seems the holes the bolts go into are filled wiht mud. It is something I will have to do next weekend as it is going to snow here tomorrow again i think. So my future ideas are to cut the bar off thats on it right now and put a stinger on; smittybilt 8k winch with optima batter, I am going to have to cut my grill a little to get it to fit. Will take more pics soon.

UPS says about $48 and yes the bottom bar is bent inward a little, caught a rock coming down a hillclimb thats why I said it has taken some abuse.

I run a front sway bar with upgraded stronger links, and no rear sway bar for the last 3 years. Yes in order to get the kind of travel you see in these flexed out pics you must have longer shocks but no too long so ur spring comes out unless you want to make a spring retainer.

I just got done building my new bumper and am hopefully going to be instaslling it this weekend; so I am taking my brush guard off and selling it; figured I would offer it on here first. It has definitly save me from ruining my pathy and has a bunch of life left in it. It will come with the mounting brackets but most likely going to have to cut the bolts that hold it in so you would have to get new ones. I paid $400 for it when I purchased it but I do not think I will get anywhere near that as it is used and has taken some abuse but is still good. I was thinking maybe $120 plus you pay shipping which I am also guessing to be around $40-50? I am keeping my offroad lights.

I as looking more for the home built type of bumpers, I do not want to order one; and have a bunch or sheet metal and some rectangular tubing and just looking for ideas.

The bumper weighed about 98lbs when I bought it then we have probably added about 20lbs to it since then with reinforcing it.

I was going to try to make some brackets kind of like these: and incorperate somehow like this one: Plus it is welded to the factory tow loops and it connects directly to the frame right where the rail opening is with 4 bolts, 2 on each side: There is a local guy who customizes doors and here is his sample of what he does, I wonder how doing something like this would look at pathy's:

So I just got done with my front bumper and now I want to make a rear bumper.... I was using the search tool to look for other members rear bumpers and have not been able to find too many pics; I am looking for ideas. Any help?

Me and a buddy have been working on my bumper for the past month; I originally bought it from another member on here jwbehm from AL and had it shipped to NH. It initially looked like a homebuilt bumper from someone who was learning how to weld; as he bought his pathy off a buddy who originally built the bumper and i bought the bumper off him. So we had to to refinish it and weld in alot of support and gussets for the winch plate to be able to take the stress along with a new skid plate made from thicker steel. Well when he came out with the intial kit it came with a spacer you had to weld in which was not that hard at all....

Saw this on my Facebook this morning and I don't know if Shift220 has posted on here about it yet but it looks awsome and should help ease those wary about the SFD when it comes to the steering linkage even though its not that hard to make.

Yea I keep bending and snapping tie-rods while rock climbing.... the joints are fine its just the rods are not thick enough to handle what I do. I would definitly be interested in one of these kits though.... anymore pics?

It looks like some modification was needed, from the pic it looks like he cut some of the sheet metal to make room for the stabilizer....

ARB locker rear and weld the front.... sounds cheaper than 2 lockers....
