  1. Unncpathfinder got my vote, I have been in the same situation where I snapped and/or bent a tie-rod and it is no fun but good shot you got out of the situation.
  2. you can reuse the mount with the new bearings
  3. I mainly use 4LO havent used 4HI in awhile but will try it tomorrow.
  4. As for the wobbling thing it is your lower control link bushing on your 4 link in the rear (common problem with our trucks) easy to fix with new poly bushings you can order off 4x4parts.com. As for shocks there are many variations of what you can use it just matters what your going to use your truck for whether its wheeling or a mall crawler or a little of both; and it all depends on how much $ you want to spend. For struts I highly recommend KYB GR-2 struts which are very dependable just make sure you get the upper strut mount/strut bearing from a dealership or autoparts store as the ones that come with the struts usually fail and do not re-use your old ones. As for coils you can pack 2" AC lift coild with your SFD for 6" of lift in the front or you can run your stock coils and have just the 4" lift and as for the rear there is a kit that is sold with the SFD to either get some jeep springs to fit or you can order custom springs like me. I suggest you do some research and read this thread and visit this site.... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=23821 http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=27981 http://www.krfabs.com/product_detail.php?productID=2
  5. It does it only sometimes but not as much when I am in drive than reverse, and it mostly does it when I am in reverse but it only does it in 4WD otherwise it drives perfect in 2WD with no problems.... which is why I believe it is the transfer case; I did replace the filter when I did the flush. I think it is the transfer case just 4WD gears and not 2WD since the majority of the time my truck is in 4wd because I dont DD it and it spends most of its time on the trail.... I found one on car-part.com for $100 and it has 98k on it so it should be good. I think I am going to change it and take apart the one I have and maybe rebuild it to use as a extra; you can never have too many extra parts. If it doesn't fix the problem then I need to start eliminating something else and start with the easiest and cheapest. Any feedback is appreciated.
  6. I am moving to Texas (TX) next week, and the more and more I think about it I believe it is just the transfer case and it has finally went from all the abuse I put it through?
  7. I need to change the gear oil, I plan on changing out all the gear oil when I get to TX just not enough time right now with still trying to get everything ready for the move and working full time. I just am at a loss of what it could be but am willing to try anything at this point.
  8. So I have been having this intermitten problem with reverse with my pathy, It only happens when I am in 4WD. When I am on the trail or anywhere in 4WD and I go to reverse my engine stalls out and I have to restart, even if I rev it up before I put it in reverse it will stall out, this problem has been intermitten and I thought it was the tranny because it only happens when in reverse and when I am in 4WD, so I flushed the tranny and it still does it.... I have no clue what it could be but am going to try and run some sea foam through my engine. Any ideas? It is fine in 2WD and goes in reverse fine without any hesitation.
  9. I think I have 3 points total when including this one?
  10. did you get them with the coils from the same company? Get the ones directly from the dealer, they are alot stronger; I had mine go out on me in 2 weeks after I did it all.
  11. Sounds like upper strut mount also known by some to be the "strut bearings" you want to get that taken care of when you can as there have been some members on here who have had catastrophic results with bad strut bearings.
  12. Well lets see... -First Aid kit -Tow straps -Spare CV -Spare Wheelbearings -High Lift -4 way -3 Assorted Tool boxes -3 gallons of Water -lighter -jumper cables -Grease -Rags -Trash Bags -Toilet Paper -Anchor Shackles -Tree Saver -Spare Hubs -Random Nuts/Bolts -Trail mix -knife -electrical/duct tape -hatchet -chainsaw (sometimes) -flashlight -spade -air compressor -spare wire -zip ties -spare tire -ratchet straps -spare shirt/shorts -brake fluid -power steering fluid -fire extinguisher -cell phone charger -a pipe (sometimes) -Beer (sometimes) -S&W .38 special snub nose (sometimes) And that explains why only 3 people are in my pathy at the most, you can never be over prepared; I don't know how many times my buddies have had to ask me for stuff on the trail.
  13. Glad I can help; I do beat the hell out of my SFD every now and then. It takes whatever I throw at it, and was well built.
  14. So me and a friend decided to go out wheeling today and test out the pathy along with his new 4:10s and we had quite a bit of fun, I went to the exact same spot wherr I blew my hubs out before and made it throuh with 2 tries this time. Didn't have to use my winch once so it was a good day, the only damage was my buddy losing his tail light lence and driver side mirror and his fender flare. Just didn't get too many pics..... I will next time though.
  15. So I bought a home made trailer the other day; the frame is I-beam and it is a dead axle with electric brakes; also I do not have to worry about replacing worn out leafs. I am going to be using it to travel from NH to TX and pull my pathy. It has 7k mobile home axles under it which are very heavy duty. I got new Class F tires for it and just ordered new inner and outer wheel bearing with new raises. It even has a plate on the front of the trailer to put a winch, even though my oathy has one I could use it to tow cars on. I am tackling the wheel bearings and raises this weekend, along with putting new tires on. It is not the prettiest trailer but it should do the job.
  16. Did your pathfinder come with manual hubs? If not then you already have auto hubs. If you do have manual hubs you can just leave them locked if you do not want to get out and lock them. I find them better than auto hubs because unlocked they end up saving you money in the end by minimizing the wear on your front drivetrain and CV's along with give you better gas milage. Plus xterra or frontier hubs wouldn't fit because there CV axle spline count is different.
  17. anything is possible if you don't mind the extensive modification.
  18. These are the ones I have for $79.19, they are MM Supremes. 28 spline 6 bolt; cheapest I could find them. http://www.race-mart.com/Mile_Marker-MLM-435.html
  19. Would my skid plate that I already bought off you bolt to it? And what about a mid skid plate for the SFD? I would want to get that link and be able to use my skid plate and maybe a mid skid plate that is solid with no door? Hit me up with some prices as I would want it made out of aluminum most likely. So I put my spare MM hub on today along with new wheel bearings both sides. Got on the phone with Smittybilt and have them mailing out a new controller for my winch, seems mine stopped working.
  20. I stand corrected, they can be blown; but still a good inexpensive hub.
