  1. You can run shocks for a stock suspension but when you lift it, you would want longer shocks so you can get more travel. If you keep the stock shocks after you lift it, they won''t "extend" any extra until you do swap them out with longer ones.
  2. Bwahahahaha...that got me rolling good. I'm in too! Maybe Fueler and I can get each other and it'll be a nice surprise there.
  3. Thanks you guys! Definitely had a few tonight...took me like 10 minutes to write this post...lol!
  4. Nice update. I'm in the midst of replacing the restrictive pipe to my JWT Filter with a straight pipe and will post pics once its done.
  5. DEAL! When do you anticipate that will be?
  6. Yeah I've got the newer SE roof rack on my 98. But I've been searching for cross bars for them. Anyone want to sell theirs?
  7. I didn't realize that they quit making the Geolandars?! Hmmm...I was planning on getting those next. I have had the Revo's for over 3+ years now. I agree with Pezzy that they have done great. I've thrown everything at them, mud, rocks, snow , ice. Except that last month I lost one to a small pebble between the treads.
  8. With my experience with my REVO's, mud and AT does not mix well for the same exact reason you mentioned.
  9. Not only does the rear spoiler help with that but it also gives you 25+hp and if you go fast enough you can even catch flight!
  10. The one you linked to is for an OEM replacement. For that kind of money, you're better off ordering a FlowMaster or MagnaFlow and have that shipped to Canada and then find a local shop to install it.
  11. Yes the dobson fly! Those things are pretty freaky looking.
  12. Thanks for the id on the spider! I was able to take some better pics with the camera this morning with the full sun providing great lighting. Check out these close ups of the same spider. Looks like it was getting ready to have some lunch. This sucker is getting bigger and bigger by the week.
  13. Yup I replaced the plugs with NGK Iridiums along with ngk wires and also the cap and rotor too. Have no complaints! I'll be putting the same set up on the 4runner soon also.
  14. Hey great post man! Nice pics too! Maybe someone should sticky this?
  15. I've had this spider in my garden all summer and have watched it grow to quite a healthy size. The only thing is I have never seen anything like it. Its got some yellow, almost neon stripes. Its about the size of a ping pong ball. Its been sitting amongst my tomatoes taking care of all the pesky cabbage moths. Anyone know what kind of spider this guy is? Sorry for the blurry pics.

    What Am I?

Yes thats a hobo. Those are some nasty buggers. There tons when I was living on Spokane and now in MT I'm seeing my fair share as well. The thing that tipped me off is the two fangs hanging from the front. Definitely a hobo. I would put spider traps out ASAP as these guys can definitely EFF you up and can kill small pets. They are very common in the Northwest. I have killed a couple of dozen in the past year I've lived in this house.
  17. I'm not so sure...the stock tires on that are 265/70/16, which is 30.6" and on the rear there are 31's on there. So I'm not sure if the better acceleration is due to the tires since they are pretty much the same in size. Well you go from stock suspension to aftermarket coils and shocks, OF COURSE its going to be alot stiffer. The point of that statement was an observation between a stock rig and a rig with aftermarket suspension.
  18. It drives completely different than my pathy. Its got a 3.4 and it seems that I can feel the extra 100 cc's it has over the Pathy. I'm also used to the stiff ride in the Pathy that when I drive the 4runner over washboard and dirt, it does a good job absorbing all bumps. You should have seen it when it was first rolled over. It has had some major body work to it and a crappy paint job. The a$$ who worked on it didn't even tape anything up when he painted and there are little white specks everywhere. There is some major cracking of the bondo on the roof...I'm taking it to a real body shop in town that does the amazing work and have them do it all the right way.
  19. Well turns out the tranny fluid was like 3 qts low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I checked it before I left Seattle and I recall that it was fine. I ended driving about 1000 miles before filling up the tranny to the proper oil level. But the problem has been solved and she drives like she did when she was new. Tons of power now and no hesitation whatsoever!
  20. Hey man. There are lots of people in the Puget Sound area on here. I'm from Lakewood but have moved away. I'm sure others will chime in.
  21. Any ideas on the culprit causing it to slip?
  22. Went to Seattle this past weekend to go pick up the folks' 1997 4Runner. It was rolled about 3 years ago and got some major damage to the hood, fenders and rear quarter panels. They had some shade tree mechanic work on it and they've had it for about 3 years and did a $hitty job on it. Didn't even both taping anything up when they painted it. Its going to need a need paint job and some body work on the roof. During its 3 year jail sentence at this $hitty mechanic, the wheels somehow got stolen from it also. He tried to fit 15" wheels on there but they wouldn't fit on the front because of the it wouldn't clear the calipers. So there are 15's on the rear, and a 16" spare on passenger front and a 16" aluminum rim on the driver side front. I did drive it from Seattle to Montana with no problems and on my first fill up logged 21MPG and made from my parents' house to Spokane with still 1/4 tank of gas left! 300 miles exactly. Then the drive from Spokane to Livingston, I logged 24 MPG. Ithink this was due to finally cycling out the old 3 year old gas that was in the tank. Its only got 102k and runs pretty strong. The ONLY probem though is when I come to a complete stop or coming to a stop and then decide to accelerate,. there is a pause of about 1-2 seconds where the RPM's rev up but the car doesn't move. If you keep on the gas pedal as its revving up, the tranny or whatever the culprit is finally catches and it'll clunk forward and accelerate. What do you guys think this could be? I'm afraid that its the tranny. I'm going to have it looked at this week. Despite the issues, its still a strong runner and it was free. Can't beat free!
  23. No they don't work. I've had a JWT popcharger and am pretty happy with it. It does have a little port for you to hook up the little vacuum hose to that you disconnect from the stock airbox. I've been wanting to for a long time to find a straight intake pipe to replace the lame "S" tube that is restrictive. A straight intake pipe setup like this would be nice.
  24. Hey man, I've mentioned this before but I'll tell you. When I bought my Revo's, TireRack.com had the best price I could find but shipping added about $85 to the purchase. I ended going to Costco and they had the same tire and same price but they had them order my Revo's from the Bridgestone factory because they didn't have 31's in stock. They ended arriving in 2 days and they pay for the shipping of course. On another note, I've noticed the price on the REvo's jump substantially since I've bought them about 3 years ago...I got them for $130 a piece and I see them selling for $150+ now. WTH!
  25. Looks like you managed to...LOL :tonguefinger: Congratulations!
