  1. The whole thing with the drive by wire. It's a decent system. I don't find them to be as responsive as a cable personally. But that's just me. I like how when the Camaro SS cars were breaking tailshafts on he transmissions people were quick to blame GM (despite the transmission manufacturer owning up to it), when the real problem came from people abusing the transmissions and launching like morons. But everyone quickly blamed GM as if they made them. Toyota blames the pedal companies and everyone says "aww poor toyota. that's alright". I just don't get it. Also even Steve Wozniak is saying there is a problem with the Toyota computers lol
  2. Can't imagine the changes between 08 and 09 being THAT big honestly.
  3. Cables do stick as well. But drive-by-wire is also a more fuel efficient throttle body. The problem lies mostly in their computers. The computer also freaks out when you slam on the brakes while the accelerator is stuck. I like how Toyota shifted the blame everywhere on this. First the floormats, Now it's the pedals. Their current recall is installing shims on the pedals. They are just full of themselves.
  4. Dealer told me that as well for my WD21. Although a quick swing around to Advanced Auto Parts I got the sensor for half the price. Be prepared. If it's anything like the 94-95's the sensor isn't sold with the gear that is attached to it. The gear is seperate.
  5. Don't worry, at least facebones thought your screen shot was "kewrl"
  6. Edit: YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMTR2wDcsHg
  7. So are you associated with this guy?
  8. So how much did you pay for those swirly license plates?
  9. That's what I'm thinking. Most the OD i've seen on transmissions is the highest gear on the transmission (like 4th gear in a 4-speed auto)
  10. Nope. As far as I know caR50's only had 4-Speed slushboxes.
  11. They are extremely old. The original Mercury Cougar had them. and i think the 1965 style T-birds. Been an aftermarket kit available for cars for years. They were real big on the last 2 body styles of mustang.
  12. Gotcha. It's been so long since i've had my truck I've honestly forgotten. Pretty sure it's a CAI though. I know it's at least a cone filter. Is it bad my truck has sat longer waiting for a speed sensor than i've owned it? This is what I get for asking family for help *facepalm*
  13. $6 cone filter? they don't exist around here. Even the tiny oil breathers are $20
  14. They are on ebay yeah. But there is no way it decreases your HP. Have you compared an aftermarket CAI to the stock intake tube and such? I know there's such a thing has having too big of an intake. but anything is better than that tiny intake.
  15. Yeah im just looking for something different for now. I do want some Volk TE37X but Volk doesn't have an order thing up right now.
  16. See mine was under the assumption of it being an electronic speedometer. I don't own the mechanical speedometer so naturally it's going to vary.
  17. Eh. Rather would admit it than come up with a story. When you just look up "wheel" or "rim" you get so many different results it was easier to start a new thread. Price isn't as big of a concern. I just like some of the Nissan wheel designs. So was looking at those. That and I'm not big on alot of the aftermarket wheels that fit our trucks
  18. For the normal tire size the gear is a 19-tooth. but if you buy the gear from Nissan it's the whole gear and shaft. It's molded onto it. That's for my 1994 at least. The gear for the 31's I think was a 21-tooth. They are like $20 a pop from Nissan though. edit: just noticed OP's is a 1990. I dont know when Nissan started the electronic speedos. I think 1990 was mechanical (don't hold me to it.)
  19. Sorry I didn't search. But when I do it pulls up every thread that has the word "wheel" in it. Just would've taken me forever. Thank you though. I just want something different than what I got now and can't find anything I like aftermarket. I'd probably go for a 16" wheel though.
  20. What rims will bolt right up to the WD21 no problems? Like what other pathfinder/xterra/frontier years will fit? I'm looking for something new and don't want to go aftermarket. Sorry if it's been asked before. I didn't feel like spending 4 months trying to find the thread.
  21. DO NOT run your pathfinder in FWD by disconnecting the rear driveshaft. It's a good way for a pathfinder to be killed. the CR-V was only okay simply because it's a car based platform and isn't Full-Time AWD. It's mostly FWD until the rear tires start feeling some slipping. Then some goofy low number is transferred to the rear wheels for added traction. THAT is why you ran fine on the CR-V. The engine in that is also transeversely mounted. Much like a normal FWD engine.
  22. I imagine if you bore/stroke a motor it'll need slightly bigger injectors to compensate for the little bit of added volume but that's stretching it. I think the stock injectors would be fine to handle anything you throw at them in terms of internals.
