  1. Yes. But the 2.2L is only like 80hp at the rear wheels lol. I think it runs the quarter in like. 19 seconds or something goofy. That's why it's impressive something with such a high curb weight and 4WD gets such decent fuel mileage. Not to mention the added fact the VG30E (as good as it is) is a bit dated in terms of technology lol.
  2. Are pathfinders equipped with the... How do you say... p***y magnet?
  3. So i've been driving the nissan and finally started adding up my fuel mileage. Not too bad thus far. Don't do the City/Highway business since my work drive is a good mix of both. been averaging about 19-20mpg. So not bad I guess. Considering it's a 3900lb SUV with an anemic V6, needing a tuneup, and an exhaust leak. My S10 in "top" shape gets 25mpg or so.
  4. video definitely related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHqIlwChyLs
  5. I'm more worried about what the black box underneath my passenger seat is.
  6. I dunno how I feel about 2 doors. They are nice I'm just indifferent on them. I'm not big on the looks either. Just that super long back glass is weird to me.
  7. Only thing i think is on the driver's side in the WD21 is the A/C compressor. but after looking up pics on the VG33 you are right.
  8. it does too lol. that's the best part.
  9. Like the old VW vans. flowers and peace symbols.
  10. how many doors does a 4-door pathfinder have?
  11. Question. Will Thorley VG30E headers (short tube) bolt up to the VG33?
  12. My uncle and friends have had various 22RE engines throughout my life and I haven't seen much to say they aren't bad. I know they are better than the V6. But I'd rather walk than rely on it. I mean it means nothing if there's hundreds of thousands, if not more pristine examples of Toyota I4's. Just my personal experience and what I've seen with them I wouldn't trust them.
  13. Go forever? I disagree. But I agree about the V6's.
  14. I'm keeping an eye out for one currently. All i know is ALOT of VG33's gave their life so the former owner can be driving around in a POS Camry.
  15. It's a sharp looking truck but that price is WAY too high. and it's an I4...
  16. Yeah i wasn't sure cause it wasn't entirely clear to me. makes sense now.
  17. I have the 5-Speed. I'm not too big on how it feels. I don't mind truck-like transmissions. But the WD21 just feels like a 4-speed trans and the 5th is just there. And it just feels clunky and rough with a "too much" hydraulic assist clutch. I'm just so used to how smooth my S10's is. But this isn't a thread about the transmissions lol. What needs to be changed out on the VG33? The link wasn't too clear. it was short blurbs mostly. I only saw something about the water pump and crank pulley. But is it using the VG33 crank? etc etc.
  18. I think so. My only other complaint about the WD21 is the transmission. Now if i could find a perfect bolt-up one I liked more I'd be in business.
  19. i dont think it was really developed around that time though. I mean boring out a block isn't science (is the stroke the same as the VG30?), but i don't think it was really developed until towards the end of the WD21's life cycle.
  20. For a parts truck? I don't see why not. Dunno if there is frame rust or not. I dunno about $1k. I paid $550 for my 1994. But I dunno. Go for it if you feel it's a good deal. The others around here can probably chime in better than I can.
  21. Ohhh. And you just needed to extend the harness as well? I was considering building a VG33 with the Q pistons and what not. Just wasn't sure on all the details right now. You just swapped the whole VG33 in (Heads and all?). Doesn't sound like it's that bad though. I dunno about power increase as much. What I'm finding is the VG30E was rated at like 155hp or so. And the VG33E is 170hp. But I suppose 15hp isn't near as bad as the 3.0L. Did you have any exhaust clearance issues?
  22. the VG30 ECU worked with the VG33?
  23. You're in canada. Not sure if I can vouch for you. But in America they were made mandatory for the 1995 model year. Driver air bag at least. Passenger wasn't made mandatory until 98/99 i think.
  24. You're right. Forgot what year it started. Should be an air bag. I know in 1995 it was mandatory for all light trucks to have air bags. so the 1995 models would have it and they have the same steering wheels as the 1994's. So you may have been hosed on an air bag.
