Good luck with the swap, Slick...... Hopefully you have better luck with the new motor.

Weird Vengeful.....I heard your stick is smaller than B's.....and even Pezzy's!!

If it's anything like the WD21's, you may have something in the casing that houses the heater core. On the older pathy's it comes apart very easily, and can be cleaned out. Mine had a terrible noise as well, and it ended up just being leaves, and debris in there.
-
Hey. On your noise issue, I'd bet heat shields. Wait until she's cool, and get under and bang around a bit on the exhaust....you should hear the same noise, and be able to see where it's coming from. with the steering sticking issue, it almost sounds like some bolt in the steering has been overtorqued. Thus, the "centering" force of the PS isn't strong enough to recenter the wheels. Now, granted, I'm no expert with R50 steering components........ Struts....I have no clue.....I don't have struts.

I believe they are 93-97 FRONT JGC coils. From a 4x4

Double check your battery connections........ Other than that, could be the alternator, or battery....but if it's only reading 10volts RUNNING, i'd say probably alternator.... Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.

NICE!!! That's a pleasant surprise!!!

Thanks guys. I do have a FSM which does have an exploded view of the Pump assembly. I'll see if I can get a rebuild kit for it. I'm 99% sure the issue is with the bearing inside....as there is no leaks....but it's making noises.
-
I believe it's the bottom far right fuse. According to the FSM, it's 10A.
-
I use a couple of pieces of 1/2" plywood to get a little more height out of my Jackstands. I've never had an issue.
-
Keith, I can almost guarantee that the rear end being uneven has more to do with your torsion bars being uneven than the rear springs. Try to crank up the driver's side t-bar a touch more, and it should even out.
-
The other possibility is a bad light switch. There are instructions around here somewhere for reconditioning the contacts in the switch. Do a search. Otherwise, find a switch assembly at a scrap yard, and replace. It's pretty easy....took me about 20 minutes.
-
If you've caught it early enough, you may get away with just replacing the boot, but, if ANY dirt gets in there, it'll tear up the CV joint really quick. In other words, get that boot replaced ASAP, and hope for the best.

Yeah...PS fluid is good...........And nothing leaks. I was afraid of the price......didn't think I'd wanna know!! May be time for a trip to the wrecker.

Alright Guru's....I need some help.... My PS pump is howling like a banshee when the truck warms up. It had squeaked for quite some time, and I've greased/lubed the shaft behind the pulley for a while, and it always quieted down for a couple of days. Anyways, it's not leaking at all, and my power steering is as functional as ever, but, the pump now howls. So has anyone here ever rebuilt/reconditioned one? Or would I be better off to simply find one at a junk yard? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Do you know anyone around you with a Pathy, or even an old Maxima that you could steal the distributor out of for a while to test? At least that would save you the $85 diagnostic....

I have the same damn problem K9!!!! That's a radio problem though, bud!!!

Oh sh!t!!! There it is.....I looked all through the EM section thinking that's where it'd be......IDIOT!!! Thanks K9

Sort of on topic question, sort of on.... I want to check the spark timing on my 95......I know "how" to do it...but.....I don't know what marks on the harmonic balancer represent what number....IE... TDC, 5 degrees BTDC etc.....If anyone actually knows this, since I've checked my chiltons, and the FSM, and couldn't find the info, it'd be greatly appreciated.
-
Okay guys here's how it works.... A solid axle is attached to the frame with arms, and in our case, a panhard rod.......basically none of these parts truly reduce flex. They're all parts just to keep the axle under your truck......1 end to the frame, the other to the axle. Sway bars are linked in a 2 places on the axle, and 1 place on either side of the frame. 1 single bar, linked in 4 places. These links allow a small amount of play in the bar, for suspension travel, but due to being attached to the frame on either end, and the axle in the middle.......they don't allow the type of flex that is desireable off road.

Rarely park under trees.....found about 2.5-3" of debris, comprised of leaves, paper, dust, pine needles in my plenum, and a bunch of leaves wrapped around the fan part of the blower motor...... Not pretty.
-
15 degrees BTDC.......if I remember correctly.
-
OKAY!!! NOW it makes sense!!! I thought you had the harmonic balancer, and lower timing cover off as well........Thought you were looking at the crankshaft sprocket!!! Sorry.....I'll stop being dumb now!!!
-
Alright....there's 3 sprockets. 2 camshaft, one crankshaft........I assume by your first post that 1 of the camshaft sprockets, and the crankshaft sprocket are correctly lined up. 1 camshaft sprocket is off. Is that correct?
-
Also, for reassurance (not yours, mine) could you post up a pic of your lower sprocket? Since you've got her open, I just want to make sure that yours is lined up where mine was........as I couldn't find a mark on the lower housing to line it up with.....so I just put my new belt on EXACTLY where the old one came off.
