  1. no its not how can it be? when your in low range, your speedo will be off by a factor of 2.02 your T-case is always working whether its in 2wd or 4wd. its on the output shaft right before the D-shaft connection
  2. speedo problem could be a stripped out plastic gear in your T-case output.
  3. you should see the @!*% i get....lol its all good, just remember to tell him.. Toyota. = Tow out your own truck asshole.
  4. i know on my 87 its on the T-case. makes no sence to put it on the tranny. what happens when your in 4 low? your speedo will be off by a factor of 2.02
  5. only 1st is low.. I've done all the gear calculations on them.. the others are normal.. very comparable to any other vehicle out there.
  6. 77k on an 88?.......... no way I have to let mine warm up for 20 min
  7. mine have NEVER worked.. switch is good.. wire is good, bulb and connections are good.. I just gave up.. 14 years later.. its still the same
  8. check your compression. when an engine is ust worn out, this is a first sign. how many miles on it?
  9. got any pic of this pilot bushing problem? I'm having a hard time seeing what you are talking about. are you saying.. when you put the pilot bushing in, the bell housing won't sit flush against teh backside of the block? but with it out it does? if this is true, your bushing isn't in far enough. DO NOT RUN THIS WITHOUT A PILOT BUSHING
  10. Yep, and some steve miller on continuous play. But for the pathy.. I really can't add to what others have said.. all good info. I'm to the point now with my rig.. I don't even know how it still runs so well. I just keep treating her badly and tell her that i love her and that its her job to be slammed around and beat on... That being said.. maybe my rig is a masochist.
  11. Mine does it too, this is how I handle it. Push towards first with pressure.. let out the clutch while pushing.. it slides in as soon as teh clutch starts to engage.
  12. i'd say lots of beer and PRD's for a trip like that..
  13. not sure, but if they don't, let me know.. i have a left and a right one from an 87
  14. Oh, you should hear the daily bashing I get. Last week, i was at the shop.. one of the guys was giving me @!*% about my pathfinder.. says."look what you drive, you drive a nissan".. I reply, ya.. and?.. where's your jeep? oh wait.. its broken again isn't it?.... "no, he reply's its outside. So, why don't you ever go wheeling?. he says I do... i reply again.. well, i'm out every weekend.. we wheel the same places.. so... why don't I ever see you?....... Cause your jeep is BROKEN! The onlything i've broken on my pathfinder is D44 front end parts
  15. BS.. there is now way. they won't even tell you what or how it works.. all it says is "metalics of a proprietary...." sounds like the magnets in the gas tank.. complete and utter BS
  16. I run 10-40 in mine.. but thats due to high milage and other sloppy stuff going round and round int he engine..lol

OK, stop what you are doing. I am not one to flame and or not give advice where necessary, but honestly, You are talking about doing a SOLID AXLE SWAP in a nissan truck, you don't even know what rear end is in it stock. In all good concious, I cannot condone YOU doing this swap. Make sure you get a professional to do it. Also, a H233B is NOT as strong as a 9". Its close to the same, but not quite.

an easy way to re-gear without spending too much money. 4.9:1 gears from an exterra to go into the stock rear 4.88:1 gears for the D44. There will not be any issue with the differance It would be better to go to 5.38's but for the nissan axle its very expensive. (if at all possible, i know you can get 5.13)
  19. Um, i hightly doubt you will have room for 37's. I run 36's with a solid axle, 7" of suspension lift and 3 body. I cannot run bigger till I push the front end forward

I can't remember what year is what.. but on the Waggy's its either PRE -1980 or post 1980, that they changed from Drivers drop to passengers drop. or vise versa. You want a drivers side drop Jeep waggoneer Front D44. get the leaf springs from it as well. They should work just fine. all the other stuff is fab work.

You must have not read the whole post.. I was joking about the rockwells. Unless you ar going to run 44"+ tires. OK, the jeep axle is a good boat anchor. But make sure when you throw it overboard to cut your line and leave it down there cause its not worth pulling back up. the D30 /D35 is garbage. There is a reason that everybody upgrades Jeep axles. I personnally have a HP D44 up front wich is stronger than a jeep axle (D30/D35) And i have busted 2 stock shafts, 1 chrome-Moly shaft, 1 Full detroit locker. anymore questions?

Rockwells. 2.5 ton.. there is no other. But ok. what you want is a pre80 waggy front end (LP D44). width is the same, lug pattern is the same. and you can get gears that will be close enough to match your H233B. The other option is Early bronco, but you will have oil pan clearnce problems, and they are 5 x 5.5 lug pattern and hard to find since you'll want disk brakes and that means 76 or 77. Hou could go Full width, in that case you have to change both front and rear axles.
  24. an optima is not a gel cell But ya, exide is good
