  1. patrols are RHS drop, as our pathfinder are LHS drop. if you have the skills, you could always do tube swap. Basically, cutting it all up and changing sides of the differential housing
  2. make sure you get all the bolts out, and put a pry bar on it. I've had mine off a few times and it was no drama at all.
  3. I run the old ford f100 disks, and 11" drums in the rear. I have to keep up on my rear drum adjustment, but it works fine normally.
  4. why would it run lean on one side and rich on the other? its fed from the same source. I can only see this happening if you had an intake manifold leak.
  5. clicking, is probably valve train slop.. try topping up your oil or changing it.
  6. dude, i told you the same stuff on FIBC.. didn't believe me did ya?
  7. thornturds are OK, as long as you have a grooving iron to cut them up as you see fit.
  8. IROK are a wheel speed tire. If you are crawling rocks and barely turning tires.. yes they beat swampers. overall swampers are the best all around tire
  9. i just use an extention on a spark plug socket
  10. a bad distributor cap or rotor could cause this. your fire is taken of a plug wire. and if the spark is jumping inside the cap, it could give you a bad reading. other than that the problem could be pretty serious. distributor shaft. or computer problem
  11. I don't have a problem with it as long as your not @!*% FACED I'll be the first one to crack a beer on the trails Guess none of you guys want to go wheeling with me
  12. FACT Heli coils are stonger that threaded holes. I would not hesitate to fix nearly any stripped hole with a heli coil. BUT, make sure that the wall around the whole isn't too thin. Normall i think, about 25% of the diameter.
  13. my first year pathy (86.5) NEVER had a heating problem, that was until the radiator plugged. I got a replacement (all steel instead of the plastic tanks) and it fixed th problem. Now, i don't have a shrowd, rad is blocked off with a winch, and i wheel the piss out of it in the dead of summer in california and have NEVER had an over heating problem.. My rig is the same as yours. I bet your water pump or rad is jacked.

    Idle speed

1200, but thats cause i like it that way, i take it down to about 800 for emission testing.
  15. I wouldn't with it in neutral, there is no way for your output shaft bearing to be properly lubricated.
  16. if you just pull the drive shaft in the rear, all your t-case oil will drain out. you need to find a way to plug it, or just disconnect it from your rear end, and strap it up and in somehow.
  17. Blue smoke is BAD!!! rings, and all kinds of bad news. I have found that black / black blue smoke is oil in the cylinder.
  18. get somebody with another rig, to go down the road at 70 mph, follow him.. see what your speedo reads. this will at least tell you if your speedo is correct or not. and i would contest it if your sure its right.
  19. no it won't. if you get coolant in your combustion chamber, you "could" mix cooant with oil. Hence, water passing your rings, , but you won't get oil in your coolant through the combustion chamber (unless his head gasket is virtually none existant, and its leaking oil and water into the combustion chamber). I vote head gasket. But, black smoke is not a symptom of water in your combustion chamber, white smoke is. Black smoke is generally oil in your cumbustion chamber.
  20. I'm wheeling all the time. I'm actually going out this weekend.. again.
  21. fskc sythetic I have been running dino GL4 for years.. NO problems.. well, its nearly impossible to find Dino GL4 these days, so i went with redline as everybody has suggested. a month later, my tranny starts screaming at me.. when i get home, i pulled the plug and only 1 quart came out (max). come to find out, that my t- case was holding it All. I pull the T-case, check input shaft seal.. its all good. but my gasket on the front of the t-case housing cover was.. how do shall we say.. in poor condition.. I changed it, resealed, put dino back in.. and its all good. thumbs down for synthetic in a manual transmission!
