  1. haha... yeah.. I am specifying friends... but when she is ready I am waiting. She doesent want to date anyone at this point in time... and yes.. she does love to offroad... ahaha... lets see here, It was the 3rd time we went out together we went up a local trai and managed to get stuck ontop of a mountian, about 1 hr out of town and it was 1 in the morning. Bad manuver on my part... well lets just say it was blizzerding and the police didn't have a 4x4 on duty, and they just said good luck, so i called all the people I know, and got ahold of one of my friends dad's that lives 30 miles away, so he came and picked us up in his excusion... But he only went to the turn around... about 5 minutes walk... and lets just say, the next day when we went to go get the truck out every one got stuck, before the even made it to my truck. One guy and a winch, but he couldent get close enough to pull us out.... ahah... so a cat saved my butt that day... ... but yes.. she is an amazing girl...
  2. also try and stay out of fifth gear... when towing 4th is a 1:1 ratio, and it is straight thru the tranny box, it allow a lot of unneeded stress to be eliminated in the tranny. (the mechanic that rebuilt my tranny showed me)
  3. Also, I found a set of barly used Cooper STTs (32x11.5) for 450... I am also going to snag those... (i love those overtime hours )
  4. oh, and today, I got my CB installed. I'll try and get some pics up, and I also priced the rear axal out of a 89 pathy w/ the 4 wheel disc... and I am lookin at about 250 ... so after my bl is installed and tires, I think I am going to snag that...
  5. Thankyou 94. But actually, I still have access to my old one at the salvage yard and it has it, but from what I am told it is a major pain in the butt to do the conversion. Especially the brace behind the tail lamp... so I was thinking just getting one attached to the rear bumper when it get's built... so I dunno yet.. but I may go back out there and take a look at what it would take again... thanks!!!! But, no my new one doesent have the mounts, but my old one does... -Ben
  6. I feel bad for all you guys... here in eastern oregon we don't even have to smog test...
  7. probibly not, only because the standered is held for the year of the vehical no matter the engine... I would recommend getting a really good cat just to put on for the smog tests. Then put the orig back on later... but yeah, I am looking at the shop manual now... and yeah, I see here they also run a completly different set up on the ecm. They programed in a complete diagonstic set up for the EGR system (lots and lots of uneeded sensors), and all the other crap that's on cali's ... so don't know what to tell ya man... just hope that a really good cat does the trick...
  8. My first 1990 had the 5th gear whine in it, and it was getting worse. So I got it rebuilt (worth every penny... shifted perfectly, and smoothly) but it did cause a cramp in the wallet for a while. (and I work a KFC so it was a big cramp) but still worth it. Changeing the oil viscosity will only prolong the enevitible, falure, and not by long. I would recommend having it rebuilt if at all possible, and by a respectibly tranny place. They are complecated little bugers, and it has to be put together perfectly or you will be in a @!*% load of trouble. But rebuilding the tranny in my first pathy was by far the best thing I did to that thing... (oh and I still have the main rear bearing out of it, and it is SOOOO pitted, it is insane... and the first one was basicly destroyed... so yeah... get it rebuit!!!!)
  9. I couldent tell you for the autotragic, but I had my Manual rebuilt, (my first pathy) and it cost me 1500 dollars... but it worked empecable... but what I think is you should pick up a 91 or below, bucause of the possiblity of the rusting frame problem... so yeah... But heck do what ever you like... I just like pathies... that is why I bought another one...
  10. NIN... BAD ASS RedPath88!!!! One of my fav bands... though right now it is Linkin Park - By Myself

  13. Finch - With out you here Lost Prophets just ended
  14. I have found a little bit of rust, next to my rear wheel well, but over all really clean and my 90 had nothing at all. Mabey they changed there rust treatment in 92 or somthing. I dunno. But from what I know, most or all car companies treat the mettle for rust prevention... oh and you aint see nothin till you see a neglected 1966 IH Scout... I had on an ti was insane.. the bed completly rusted out... haha.. any hoo...

Next project to tackle is installing the BL.
  16. also another conversion set up I found... hmmm another audi/pathy owner... http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic....der=asc&start=0
  17. I have to say I like the idea of the conversion. I have been toying with the idea for a long time, I am just not sure how good it will look on a pathy but I have an Audi 4000 that I am actively working on upgrading... and on guy I know already did the projector style hid lighting set up on it... and from what I can tell it is quiet amazing... Me Likey... but intill proper cash flow allows, what improved my pathy is: 1. Relay set up 2. Replaced Light housings. (old ones were fogged) 3. Silver Star Lights 4. Proper alignment (can affect light a ton) and this works for now, but at some point (depending on cost, I am going to do a hid set up). If and when you do it, you also have 2 options. you can go with a single style, which runs a cylenoid in the projector lens that actually modifies the light beam, so there isant a 2nd eliment inside or another light needed... or you can go w/ a duel set up to where it, runs an actual bright, and dim light... also you and or me will have to figure out a good way to replace the DOT light lense to something clear so that you have a guard against rocks and crap for the light, and make it look good at the same time...but anyhoo here is a linky to what I have found, and what I want to do... http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic....p=117968#117968 just my 2 cents....
  18. oh, and it is just one more reason to love pathys...
