Are these genuine nissan starters? Or some el cheapo after market brand. My 93 starter went once when my dad owned the truck, hit it with a hammer and it'd go. Took it to the dealer, truck came back starting. Never had a problem since, and that was probably about 5 years ago now.

i think that black button is supposed to let you take the key out? correct me if im wrong anyone. And the adjustable shock switch would be one of the switches near the handbrake
-
Yeah, same thing happend to me, now I run 20w50 in the summer 10w40 in the winter. But i now have a spot the size of a quarter after a while of running. If you can't find any obviously leaks, change the oil to a thicker viscosity of regular oil. That helped me out.
-
Yeah, don't paint it like a real neon yellow, and make sure you've got black rims, shiny fender flares, anything thats black on the truck, make it stand out. Tire shine works good. Then go get her dirty, repeat.

I would've offered them a few hundred (less than 500) for it and drove it till she wouldn't drive no more. Wierd our 2000 pathy has a high pitched whine to it in the rear also, we got it at 130k km's and now at 200k kms and its still going, I thought it was normal, its barely noticable. ( i noticed every creak, whine and rattle on any car, because it annoys me.)

that blinking CEL sounds like a cylinder misfire, might need new plugs and wires, not that expensive
-
Its even more of a bitch when the guys who changed it last stripped all the bolts and used tie straps. We had to buy 12 new bolts and re tap the holes, and I made sure anti seize was put on. And we just switched to mobile 1 5-w50 supersyn oil. No consumption as of yet, and its been 1500 miles.

Hmm weird, mine doesn't look like that. Another thing, was there like a fire under the hood at one time or something? Look at that hood insulator, that doesn't look like good news, although, it might have gotten ripped.
-
I'd swear that if i didn't look at my calendar that the year is 1995, because you pathy looks brand NEW. Good job.
-
The valence is that black thing that looks bent, I'm 99% sure that its not supposed to be like that. They might have hit one of those concrete things in a parking lot maybe?
-
If the gauges goes a roughly a 1/4 of the way up during normal driving its fine, If your wheeling I think (someone correct me) it may go up to almost half because of the lack of airflow. Or at least it does for me.
-
What the hell happend to that front valence

I agree with ghostpath, my moms bf has a cavalier and the PO installed a pioneer head unit, the wiring was done so poorly that if you slammed the door hard enough it'd kill the sound and lights. When the new alpine HU went it, a wiring adapter was put in by the tech who did it, we watched to make sure

I want one that says find your path, and then the npora thing below it, on both sides!
-
So I guess I beat my dad then
-
Yeah, in theory my frame could be done right now and I'd be driving in style again, but everytime I got out to do it, I'd give up because it was too damn hot, not to mention the heat from the welder, its nice in the winter though. Also, I don't know whether you've seen pics of mine, but would you suggest I cut off the rail and weld in some new tube, or should I just try and build on whatever metal is left? I've grinded down a good portion but didn't have time to finish so I sprayed it all down with oil and parked it back in the forest.

We should have a poll on who thinks who loves their pathy the most!
-
Are patrol front axles hard to come buy?
-
I'll always try if i can to have another pathy, even if it stretches my wallet. Just the good times associated with them is enough for me to buy another one.
-
What I want to do is build it up to what it used to be, and then from there weld in additional supports and get a hitch that I'll weld into the frame, and bolt it in as well. Would the mig or the arc welder be better for what I want to do?
-
Oh it will get fixed right, whether i learn to weld or I pay someone to do it, its going to be done right. I hate half ass jobs, especially when safety is on the line. I want to really beef up the frame though, as it looks like even if it wasn't rusted, its not really that strong.
-
I guess if i fix my frame, i should throw in some body lift pucks for good measure eh?
-
Yeah, im in canada, and every pathy ive looked at around here has frame rot, so what are ya gonna do. Might as well fix it. I think I'm going to practice my welds and get good, and then do my frame. I might buy another welder too, but the 70 amp one will have to do for now.
-
Yeah I was just practicing on some scrap steel, a lawnmower, and I guess it was probably because I didn't grind it down enough. I tack welded some braces on to my pathy frame with my friends 225amp lincoln arc welder so I could move it around the yard without the frame snapping, and it seems to penetrate well.
-
I think for the amount of welding I need to do, any welder will take a long time. I've never hit duty cycle on it though, there is a light, but its never come on. Also how can I draw a good bead when it just spatters around and makes little round balls of weld?
