  1. Importer? Where do you find that? Do they give you an idea as to milage on the used part? The local trans shop gave me a quote of about $1300 to R&R the trans and rebuild it. Zack
  2. Hi everyone, The floor boards under each of my rear seats are totally gone because of rust. Has anyone repaired that area? How did you do it? Were the results good? What about the rockers under the rear doors? And the rear wheel arch rust? Any ideas on the fix for each of those areas? I love my 1995 Path, and I am the orig owner but the fawking rust is killing me. Zack
  3. Should I just stick to the dealer for this part? Thanks, Zack
  4. Hi everyone, I seem to have a "ghost check engine light" on my 1995 Pathfinder 5 spd with 176,000 miles. About a month ago I took it a 600 mile road trip towing my snowmobile. On that trip the light would flash on and off often, and usually when the light was on the truck would buck and seem like it was way down on power. Then other times the light would stay on for a while and the truck would run great. After the trip when driving around town, etc the light was off and no issues at all. Well this past weekend I did another 600 road trip without the trailer. On the way up to VT Friday the light flased about two or three times and it bucked and ran like crap when the light would be on, each situation only lasting about 2 minutes at the max. But again that was only 2 or 3 times the rest of the 300 miles were perfect. Well on my return trip home today it did the same thing but this time more like 5 or 6 times, and the remainder of the trip was fine. At the moment the light is off and the truck is perfect. The o2 sensor was replaced about 2yrs ago. Any ideas as to where to start? Thanks, Zack
  5. Yes I did the spin test when cold, and the fan moves, but it is hard to turn. So I guess that the fan clutch is done. Any ideas as to price? Thanks, Zack
  6. HI everyone, I have a loud 5spd trans after 176,000 miles on my 1995 Pathfinder. It is noisy in all gears except 4th. At 155,000 miles my clutch was replaced, and in the first 155,000 the trans oil was never changed, so when the clutch was changed so was the oil for the first time. Of course neither my mechanic or myself realized about the oil fill hole TSB, so the trans was driven "underfilled" for about 5-10,000 miles. I assume at that point, the damage was done already but the extra oil was added. NOw at 176,000 you can hear noise in all gears except 4th, as I stated above. I don't think the noise is getting any louder, but I assume that it will at some point. So what actually needs to be done to my trans? What is a ballpark figure is doing this job in terms of price? Thanks, Zack
  7. Hi everyone, I think the fan clutch is dead on my 1995 Pathfinder after 176,000 miles. I was on a road trip this past weekend, and I noticed that on the highway that my temp gauge was staying low and the truck was seemingly not getting to the proper operating temp. Then I pulled off the highway, and I heard the howl/whooshing of the fan clutch on. The outside temp was in th 20's so there was no need for a fan clutch being on. So now it seems that my fan clutch is staying "locked" at all times. In the past the only time the fan clutch would ever kick on was in the very very hot days of the summer. So it does sound as if my fan clutch is done correct? How hard is it to replace? How much should the part be at the dealer? Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks, Zack
  8. I can't believe that the word petcock is blocked? Zack
  9. HI everyone, I need to change the anti-freeze in my 1995 Pathfinder soon. As a warm up, yesterday I changed the anti-freeze in my 1995 SE-V6 King CAb 4x4 pick up. I found the pet **** on the radiator and the 10mm air release bolt, however I could not find the 2 block drain plugs. I think there is one plug on each side of the engine? When I drained the radiator and over flow bottle, I was only able to change about one full gallon. I know it holds more than that. ANy help? Thanks! Zack
  10. Here is some great reading! Zack http://www.carsurvey.org/viewcomments_review_78984.html
  11. But the thing is that even if you have a solid frame it will rust VERY quickly! I wish that I could keep my Pathfinder, as it is perfect on the interior and it still looks good, but the underside is a mess. They not only dropped that ball, they lost the ball! Zack
  12. Well that is in fact amazing that you have no rust on the frame. If you have nothing better to do go on www.carsurvey.org and hit up the Pathfinder section. You will find over 50 reports of people with 93-95 Pathfinders that all have rotted frames in the rear. The people over there want to do start a class action lawsuit, I think they should! I would support the movement, however I don't think it would get far. I just can't believe Nissan stole my money! Zack
  13. Hey everyone, As much as I hate to say or do this, I think I am going to have to bail out on my 1995 SE-V6 5spd Pathfinder. I am the original owner, and have treated this truck like gold since day one! However the rust is so sad that I think I must cut my losses before the truck has zero value. I spent almost $1,000 on frame repair last year, and the body is just getting worse by the days! It is sad because the engine is great at 173,000 miles, but I don't think I can keep in any longer. I angers me because I took such great care of the truck, and it is still rusting so badly. And to all the idiots out there that will post telling me that it is my fault because I "didn't wash the frame out often" FU because I have always been diligent about that aspect of my truck. I consider myself more anal than most about cleaning the salt, etc off my truck! Nissan is at fault here and they should do something. I realize that they will not because it is a 12 year old truck at this point, but they are at fault, it is a huge design flaw! Zack
  14. Hey everyone, I know that 1996 was the first year for the OBD II, however I have a OBD II scanner. Can I use the scanner on my 1995 SE-V6 Path? If so where do you plug it in? Thanks, Zack
  15. This is a pain because I don't use the Path much anymore. Since July I have only put 2,000 miles on her. Zack
  16. Any ideas on what happens to my 1995 SE-V6 after it sits for a while? The deal is when the truck is not used for a few weeks, the first time you start it after sitting it runs ok but when you start driving the check engine light will go on and off. When the light is on, the truck stumbles and bucks and runs like garbage, when the light is off, all is fine. The entire problem goes away after the truck has been driven down the highway for a while. After that you have NO problems at all. Any ideas? Thanks, Zack
  17. I am a big fan of the stock sound. My original exhaust was changed at 100,000 miles with all new OEM parts. Now at 171,000 miles that one os about to go, does anyone remember what the OEM exhaust costs? Zack
  18. I have been using Mobil 1 since 15,000 miles on my 1995 SE-V6. Now at 171,000 miles she does not burn a drop of oil , and if you look inside the oil cap the inards of the engine are spotless. Zack
  19. Can someone give me a rundown of what parts are needed for a total bearing/seal replacement on the front. HOw many of each part per side, and everything else that I would need to do the job once. What should I expect to pay for all the parts? Thanks, Zack
  20. As I am the original owner of my 1995 SE, From day one I never noticed any difference with the switch in either setting!. Zack
