  1. I have a 1995 SE-V6 5spd with 170,000 miles on it. It never towed anything until 150,000 miles. My engine is strong, but I still think the Pathfinder sucks as a tow vehicle. I can't even think how bad it would tow if you had to tow even close to 3,000 pounds. It is underpowered as it is then add towing to the mix and it is horrible, as well as the prior mentioned gas milage, which gets VERY BAD as you tow! I would say it drops to about 9-10 MPG. Again I love my Pathfinder, but as a tow vehicle it is the worst! Get another vehicle to tow with! Zack
  2. Sorry I should have added that the speaker is brand new from the dealer. As far as the wires go, I assume that they are at least good as there is some faint sound from the speaker. Any other ideas? Thank you, Zack
  3. Hi everyone, I own a 1995 SE-V6 Path that I took out the stock head unit some years ago, to replace it with a Sony CD Head unit. When I put the Sony in I used a Crutchfield interface to retain the use of the stock amp. For a while all was fine the suddenly the speaker in the drivers front door stopped putting out sound. All you hear from it is just a faint static sound. For a while the speaker would randomly start to work for a few min then cut back out. When it did work there was no corralation to bumps or pot holes, etc. Now for a long time it has not played at all. I am 99% sure that my head unit is fine, so what might I look at? Does anyone think that there is a problem in the stock amp? Thanks, Zack
  4. 5w30 Mobil 1 since she has has 10,000 miles on her. NOw she has 171,000 miles. All year long! Zack
  5. The trans sounds like it needs a rebuild at the very least! Also remember that the 5spd has an issue with the oil fill hole being too low, NIssan has an updated trans case. This WILL BE COSTLY! Zack
  6. Thats the thing, I have washed my 1995 at least once a week since new, even in the winter! It still blows my mind how bad this truck is. IMHO Nissan stole my hard earned money with this truck. It does not matter that I live in the rust belt, the bottom line is that there is no way that a 1995 should rot as bad as it has. I can't think of any other 1995 cars/trucks that are as ****** as my Path. Nissan fawked up in a big way with the quality of the metal that they used. Zack
  7. No, I didn't run any codes. I am not even sure how to do that. But it seems ok now. However the 4wd shop told me not to drive it all because the frame is VERY unsafe, so back in the garage it sits! :sniff: It seems so weird that it was just flashing on and off. Zack
  8. I would actually like to take a class in the evening to get some welding skills. Zack
  9. Just to make it clearer, the check engine light was basically flashing on and off. When it was on the truck ran like crap and when it was off the truck was fine. What the hell is wrong with my truck? Thanks, Zack
  10. Hi everyone, Yesterday was the first time that my 1995 Pathfinder was driven or started since Aug 4, 2006. It has been sitting in the garage. Well when I took it out yesterday, after about 10 min of driving the check engine light came on, and when it did the truck was running like crap, bucking and very low on power. Then the light would shut off, and the truck would be fine. After about 40 min of driving the light stayed off andf the truck has been fine since. The o2 sensor was replaced about 1yr ago. Any ideas? Thanks, Zack PS: Do you think it has anything to do with the truck sitting so long?
  11. Well I took it to the 4wd shop yesterday for an estimate. They do a lot of quality frame work. They estimated that for both sides of the frame (drivers and Pass) the bill will be about $900.00. He claims that it will be a lot of work! He also noted that he was amazed at the amount of rust my truck has for only being a 95. He wanted to know if my truck lived near the ocean or something. Nissan dropped the ball BIG TIME on these trucks!! I don't give a @!*% about road salt or not, I was VERY good about cleaning my truck since new, It is amazing that my truck is so rotted. Nissan should be sued! Zack
  12. Hey everyone, I had to take the rear tires off my 1995 SE and when I touched the rear frame, I put my hand through the frame. Now I have a few big holes in the frame on the drivers side. The pass side does not look much better. So how do I go about fixing this major problem? Thanks, Zack
  13. Here ya go!! http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...=0entry128846 Zack
  14. Is the OEM filter made by WIX? Anyone know? 15208-55Y00 Zack
  15. I doubt very much that you did any damage to your truck! Check engine lights do come on, it happens. Get it checked out, I don't thik that you will find any connection to the trip. Zack
  16. I have never run anything other than an OEM filter on my Path since day 1, or 170,000 miles. I guess the OEM filters are good? Zack
  17. I put it in and pull it out from the top. Zack
  18. NO the truck does have 15inch wheels. So I guess the the 31's will not fit then. DAMM Zack
  19. Hey everyone, It looks as if my mom will purchase the 1999.5 SE. The truck is totally stock, and it does need new tires. It seems that in the stock size, the choices are limited. So I would like to have her jump to 31x10.5x15 BFG AT's, on the stock wheels and suspension. Will they fit without any problems? I know there is another thread about tire size, however it relates to a 1997 Path. Thank you, Zack
  20. I thin kmine is out of rubber gromit on the drivers side, but I am not sure the dealer did it when I got the truck new in 1995. Zack
  21. Hey everyone, All I can add to this thread is that I will never buy another Pioneer head unit ever. I spent almost $400.00 for the Head unit in my FJ60 Cruiser. In less than 1yr the radio was dead, no sound to anything. The shop pulled it and had it repaired under warr. Well about 4mo later the same thing happened, now if you pound on the dash you get sound out of one speaker. It has NOTHING to do with the wiring, just a bad radio! I am very angry with Pioneer products. Zack
  22. So as the title states where is your rust starting? At this point on my 1995, the front pass side fender has rust bubbles starting just above the fender flare, the rear wheel well on the drivers side has got a lot of bubbles. The front pass and drivers side doors have rust starting, and the pass side front half of the rocker. And of course it has it in all the normal spots, the rear rockers, the rear floors, and the frame. I have also noticed that there is a spot on the drivers side floor that is going. All of this is on a truck that was washed often! Zack
