YOu might want to try this place. Years ago when the tank on my 1977 620 pick up rotted they rebuilt the entire tank to better than new! And they give a lifetime warr on their work. I think they have "gas tank renew" places all over the US as franchises. BUt if there is not one in your area you can send your tank to these guys. HTH, Zack http://www.gas-tank.com/

Does the OEM NIsaan filter have an anti drain back valve? All I have ever used in my Path is an OEM filter. At 165,000 miles, it does not burn a drop of oil! Zack

What should a new o2 sensor have run me?
zack1978 replied to zack1978's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Well the labor also included time to figure out what was wrong in the first place. So there was time to check the computer, etc. I am not sure if the old o2 sensor broke off or not. The total labor part was around $170.00. Where is the o2 sensor located on my Path? I want to look at it so that if it ever does it again, I can fix it myself. Thanks, Zack -
Hey everyone, As noted in an eailer post, I was having issues with the check engine light on my 1995. Well the shop took it in and found that in fact that the o2 sensor was bad. They replaced the o2 sensor and all seems well. HOwever the total bill with tax was $407.00. Was that expensive? The part alone was 210.00. Did I get ripped off? Thanks, Zack

Did anyone else get a new engine back in 1995?
zack1978 replied to zack1978's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Well the SERVICE CAMPAIGN was done due to valve tap noise at start up. It was not a recall, you were given a new engine if you complained about the noise as I did. I think they said that the oil passages were too small in the orig engine and the new engine enlarged oil holes. But again they did it in the Path and my pick up.. So the Path has 165,000 miles on the truck but only 145,000 miles on the engine, and the PU has 9,200 on the truck and 7,200 on the engine. They replaced the entire long block. I wonder if they would still do engines all these years later? Zack -
Hey everyone, Just checking to see who else got a new engine in 1995 due to the valve tap noise? I got a new engine in the Path and my 1995 SE-V6 King Cab 4x4 PU. The Path now has 165,000 miles and the PU has 9,200 (it's my baby always in the garage never driven!). Anyone else out there? Zack

Hey everyone, My Path has been giving me some trouble lately as far as the check engine light. In the past it would go on and the truck would run kind of crappy. But the light would never stay on for that long and when the light went off the truck would run fine. Well this morning I started it and the CEL was on and the truck was bucking slightly. After running for about 3 min the light went off and the truck was fine. This afternoon when I went to start it (after no running for about 7hrs), the light stayed off however I was going at a slow speed 15-20 MPH and you could feel the truck bucking. After a few min it was fine, and there have been no problems the rest of the day. Any ideas as to what the hell is wrong? The annoying thing is that the light does not stay on! It is going to the shop on Wednesday, and tips for the shop? Also will the computer store a code? The tune up parts are good! Thanks, Zack 1995 SE-V6 5Spd

When you take the oil fill cap off, the inside on the valve cover looks PERFECT! So I assume the innards of the engine are clean. It runs great, but it is just strange that it is louder than it used to be. But again it is olnly loud when you let it sit! Well the oil will be changed soon so if the ADBV in the filter is bad I will put a new one one soon. Also I have only EVER used an OEM Nissan filter. Thanks, Zack

Hey everyone, When My Pathfinder was new (less than 20,000 miles) when you first started the engine when cold you would hear a valve tap until the oil pressure built up. At that point Nissan replaced the long block due to the valve tap. The noise still did not go away but it lessened. So fast forward to today the truck has 165,000 miles on it. I have always used Mobil 1, and it burns no oil at all. BUt now it seems that when it sits for a few days or so, when you start it the valve tap is much louder than it used to be. Any ideas? Thanks, Zack

Well in the owners man for my 1995 it states ATF for the T-Case, with a 5spd trans. Zack
-
So are you happy with the Amsoil products? Zack
-
Hey everyone, I want to change the oil(s) in my front and rear diffs, the T-Case, and the trans. My truck is a 1995 SE-V6 5spd off-road package. I would like to go with all Amsoil syn oils. I have a few quarts of Amsoil 75W90 (it is rated GL-2 through GL-5) gear oil, am I correct that 75W90 would be fine for the Trans and the front Diff? I know that I can't use it in the rear diff because it has the limited slip, so what do I put in the rear diff? Also am I correct that the T-Case needs Auto trans fluid? If it does neeed ATF, I will also go Amsoil. Also what is the capacity of the trans, diffs and the t case? The owners man does not say. And lastly does anyone have any feedback on Amsoil products? I know that they are more expensive, but if they are good it is worth it! Thank you, Zack

Hey everyone, I am attempting to check my gas milage. I usually get about 300 miles to a full tank. Does that sound about right? When I am towing the mileage gets a lot worse. All I tow is a single snowmobile, but it kills the mileage. What does everyone else get to a full tank? Also how many gallons is my tank, I forget. I want to attempt to figure out my mpg. At this point I am close to empty and I have 305 miles on the tank. Thanks, Zack

Well I am not going to be doing the repairs myself, I will be having them done at a shop. I figure that I will be spending about 1500-2000 grand on the repairs? Does that sound about right? Thanks, Zack

Hey everyone, I am attempting to post some pics of the rust on my 1995. Can you give me some tips as to how to repair it? Thank you, Zack

Hey everyone, I know that one of the leaks that has sprung up is the power steering. What is the proper fluid to refill it with? Thanks, Zack
-
I checked again today, and it is clear fluid and it feels like an oil. I am almost 100% sure it is not brake fluid. It did have an oder to it but it was not that bad. Zack
