  1. BTW. Welcome to NPORA kid. I agree your truck looks sweet. Again it is not my thing either but nevertheless. It is clean and looks good.
  2. Arent you the guy over on AC that has like 26" wheels? Are you going for a different look? Just curious. Post up some picks of your ride. I think Max Stryker put 37" tires on his but he has the 4.5" Subframe drop lift, AC 2" lift and probably some other things that give him lift.
  3. Looks good. I am curious if it lasts too. Keep us updated.
  4. Do you mean as far as it being "watered down" or the condition of the tank contributing to the gas? I know the U-Pump-It that I got too just got some new tanks last summer. And they do huge quantity of buisness so I am not worried. Atleast I have been using the gas there for about 2 years now. So far no problems.
  5. yeah and that is a good benefit for sure. Unfortunatley I havent been wheelin enough to really worry about that.
  6. I've heard of some people having trouble with their optima red-tops. I am not even truly sure what the advantage is of them besides that they can take a beating or are more rugged. I have a auto-lite (I think) battery that has gone dead atleast 6 times since I have owned the truck. Lasted me 3 1/2 pretty cold winters with no problems and has been bounced around quite a bit when I have gone 4-wheelin even though it has been awhile. I eventually strapped the battery down so it would not bounce so much. I dont have a problem with corrosion on the terminals or underneath the battery. Like I said atleast 6 times I have had to jump it due to either my wife or I leaving the lights on!! It just starts right up and never gives me any problems I have had the truck for 4 1/2 yrs. And when I got it I remember looking at the battery and thinking man it looks like it is atleast a couple of years old. So until I am wheelin alot more I will stick with my standard batteries and save a little $$. Just my .02
  7. True, guess I will have to start lookin more at X's for off-roading in the future. That sucks
  8. Once the "crossover" happens. All is lost. I thought that that Versa thing was a crossover?
  9. Somebody needs to send the "big wig" decision makers links to our posts. So that they can see that the pathfinder is not always just a mall-crawler (dam soccer moms). Not that it would do any good but I just am truly irritated about this. I agree my R50 is not the best off-roader by far. But It has gotten me places that I would not have dreamed it could. It has impressed some of my buddies in the passed. But the greatest thing about it all. The truck just keeps on keepin on. The reliability mixed with decent off-road capability definitely make these trucks all-around better than most IMHO. I believe if we had the aftermarket support that Heeps do. Nissan would be much higher up on the pedastal.
  10. http://biz.yahoo.com/brn/080104/24176.html...p;.pf=insurance Just a quick read about "bargain" gas and whether it has negative affects or not on your engine.
  11. Yup somebody need to have a talk with Nissan. Along with a swift kick in the nuts. Wonder what the Infinity variant of a patrol would be called? Or look like.
  12. U-joints on the driveshaft possibly. Get underneath and do a visual inspection and shake things like the driveshaft.
  13. XPLOR, seems to have a pic for every situation!! That's awesome.
  14. Just a thought. How much $$ do you think Nissan could make if they did bring the patrol over here?
  15. Ouch! 2G's. I do commend you for dishing out the cash on an older pathy. That is pathy love!! Most people would look into other options.
  16. For me it always seems to be that darned power steering belt.
  17. X2 to what 02 said! I am glad this thread is back up and running. Thanks Moderators and Administrator 88! You guys deserve a raise... I went into town the other day and i saw a white R51 pathfinder in the workmans warehouse parking lot and it was lifted on some big wheels and tires. I'd have to say it must have been atleast 4" of lift. I did not get close enough to see what size tires he was running but they were pretty aggressive with some minor bling wheels too. It looked dam good. I do not like the way they look stock but when they are lifted with some beefy tires they look good.
  18. I had the quick squelch at start up and it turned out to be my power steering belt being a little loose. Tighten them bithes up!! I now have a small annoying squeal and my belts are only 10,000 miles old so I think they stretched a little and the fact that is is getting down to like -20 around here isnt helping. I gotta get under there and tighten mine up!!
  19. Bullsh!t!! Show me heeps that last as long as pathy's do when given the same off-road punishment. And yes we consider frontier "things" and X's the best Nissan offers simply because that is all we can get. Isnt that obvious?
  20. Maybe it was a "soft roader" but it still won best new 4x4 in the years of 1987 and 1990. Since then they have fallen off the pace. I think it would be a good idea to re-vamp the pathfinder name to a contender for 4x4 of the year. I mean if you think about it what does Nissan have that most those other 4x4's dont? Reliabilty. Just my thoughts though. I am not trying to take anything away from the X. They are definetely the direction Nissan is going with their 4X4's. I have seen some truly awesome looking X's on Roninwheelers and that is cool and all I just dont like how tall and weirdly shaped they are.
  21. You all make good points, GG is right though the X is too tall and awkward and I personally dont like the styling. Pathfinder was Nissan's off-road baby, and I think it should stay that way. Obviously Nissan kinda has that intention or it would not even bother with the Best new 4X4 competition. Figures we finally get a V-8 and the off-road capability goes down the shi!!er. Maybe they should re-brand the Pathfinder as the Mallfinder then.
  22. I picked up a copy of Petersons 4X4 today and it had the 2008 4x4 of the year article (main reason I picked up the mag). I am going to make this short. The Pathfinder did not fair well at all. Except for on high speed desert tracks where it was considered reputable. They actually considered the Pathy to be on the bottom of the pack when it came to hill/rockcrawling. They consider the traction control system to be annoying, dangerous and horrible and the proof is there in the article. It shows a pic of the tires and they are shredded. Ok I'll stop now but lastly they say that the pathfinder has lost the path and found the pavement as a grocery getter. Sad Sad Sad. I hope that someone from Nissan takes this article to heart and remembers what the heritage of the Pathfinder is brings it back. I apologize for this post being so negative, but I am a proud pathfinder owner and it saddens me to read this so I thought I would share it. On a side note back in 1987 the Pathfinder (two door) won the 4x4 of the year. It did it again in 1990 (four door) it is time to bring that honor back.
  23. I love that grill!! Looks really good. Sorry to hear about the damage your other vehicles suffered though.
