  1. Its a great set up... I personally and not to take away from what your doing or the end use of your intake... See if possibly you can mount the filter under the hood, right where the the elbow goes down into the wheel well... I would hate to hear about road water or a parking lot puddle horror story.... I have a JWT on my 95 and I am overly cautious on puddles I will and wont go through... The choice we make in going from the stock to open intakes... DJ_Dank also has his mounted under the hood to reduce the chance of sucking in some water.... Fixed the color tags for ya...
  2. Thats a AWESOME Bumper :o I need 2 Neri33 I also sent you an email
  3. Sorry but my sucker switch is in the "OFF" position on this one....
  4. That whole section after welding can be removed with 8 bolts..... Im not seeing the challenge... so you will need a couple of new gaskets when you put it back... You will also need to make sure u get all the bolts in prior to tightening any of them...
  5. Just an odd ball idea... Usually I just go move the floor mat out of the way for the wifey, when it will only go so fast... Another possibility could be a clogged Cat and as it gets hotter it expands to a point where little to nothing is passing through.... I had this happen on a RX7 many years ago... Just another item to look at along with the MAF, throttle position senor...

    Timing Belt

Glad all it done and your back up and running:) Most of the new Timing belts do come with the marks... one of the books I have tells you how many teeth between marks also:) The Gear on my cranks have a mark, but not on the oil pump housing as indicated in every service manual I have seen....
  7. Did you permantly "acquire" that sign?
  8. This is on my list of things I would like to do.... I read it on Wheelmans cardomain and thats how I found this site....... Been playing here ever since
  9. Pics would be good....... I have not pulled mine yet... Everthing is disconnected down to just the Transmission.... And I know thats gonna be a blast.....

    Timing Belt

I tried everything in my bag of tricks for about an hour before I started calling around for a puller..... then I got to take the bolts from the Fan mount down to the local Hardware store and rummage around for the right sized threads and then a second trip for a set that were longer Once I got the balancer off the rest was cake... -bounce-
  11. Id pay $400 and drive 40 min to have it done.... Make sure Wheel buys you Lunch, Im sure he can get a discount some where lol, i would prolly drive 300 miles for $400 if I were in your shoes

    Timing Belt

87.... Mines a 91 and a 95... Tools:) You will need a Harmonic Balancer Puller, 3 or 4 bolts that will fit the threads on the HB and they need to be about 3" to 4" long.... The Chiltions and the Haynes Guides I have are pretty close to accurate other than the timing mark on the oil pump housing(its not there). If you dont have a book get one... there may be a pdf on here... Time wise depending on your Mech ability... could be 2 to 6 hours... took me 45 min to pull the Radiator, fan and all the belts... down to just the timing cover... top came off easy.... Lower section not so easy when you dont have the right tool(HBPuller) The book covers the basics... I would suggest getting 1 or 2 and reading through them before starting..... My Mechanical Backround is... USAF Tactical Aircraft Maintence.
  13. DJ, Those are 15x7?? wanna sell em? They would look Killer on my SE.....
  14. And my wife thinks im nuts -bounce- In 1986 I joined the USAF and ended up at Williams AFB AZ just out side of Tempe... They were running the Pathfinder going through the Jungles of Brazil commercials..... At the time I was driving a 1982 FJ40 Landcruiser with AC Could not get any $$$ for buying a new one so I put it on the shelf... In 1990 I was driving by a dealer and stopped to look and see what they had... Met a guy that was getting a final service before turning in a Leased 1988 SE with AZ plates on it... Turns out that we knew some of the same people and I ended up buying his lease turn in @ 60k miles.... I have been driving one ever since... Even when we need to rent a ride I ask for a Pathfinder.... the guy with the 05 that parks 2 down from mine and I are having lunch tomorrow and I know I'll get to drive it
  15. Happy birthday To bad your not in town or I could get you a beverage
  16. Poormans Breaker Bar.... pipe that fits over the end of the ratchet or a larger boxed end that will fit over the ratchet can be useful as well, I use the stock spark plug tool,.... you having a 88 I would assume it not there Soak em with PB or something similar... Heat can also be very helpful... just make sure you dont accidentally heat something that does not like the Heat
  17. I also get a similar noise on occasion.... Im guessing it has something to do with the auto-hubs... Reasoning: when I stop and reverse my direction it will go away... Monday night I was taking the wifey out for dinner and the noise was just unbearable... out in the rain with a flash light and I could not find anything loose or hitting... when I backed out of the parking spot having changed nothing it sounded like the hubs dis-engaged.... its been almost 2 weeks since I used the 4WD and I know I dis-engaged the hubs.... This morning on the way to work the noise came back... Next stop light I backed up about 5 feet and it went away.... So im guessing its the auto lock or worse case the front CV's Dunno it the only thing i can find/figure...
  18. Well............ its night time on the appointed day in your area.......
