I found my rear brake problem
Filthy Luker replied to Filthy Luker's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Yea my sliders were seizing like crazy. I took everything apart, put new boots on, honed the slut out of everything... the works. Right now it needs major bleading work hopefully tomorrow. -
Ughh.... your truck would be undrivable on the street. But other than that, go for it.

Friend gave me a kickass fire extinguisher!
Filthy Luker replied to Filthy Luker's topic in General Forums
Woooo Duffman that's sexy! :o I emptied the fire extinguisher yesterday in a big field. There was a cloud covering a huge area from it.... Now I will get it refilled to be sure it's good to go when needed. -
Get a Zook... build it up for cheap and have fun wheeling.

I found my rear brake problem
Filthy Luker replied to Filthy Luker's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
About 6 months old. This time I am not throwing out the receipt. -
Yep... rear brake pad exploded, disintegrated and ate away at my rear disc. pssd Yea.. the grinding noise was fantastic. As you can see by the thickness of the other pad, it was practically new. I only drove like this for half a day before going to the shop BTW.

This is as adorable as a fire extinguisher can get.

Sometimes crap gets into the brakes and they squeal like a virgin on a prom night. Take the wheels off and make sure nothing is caught in there. It happened to me a few times. Yea.. the squeal is horrendous.

Suspension work on R50 [no 56K!]
Filthy Luker replied to Filthy Luker's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Old vs. New Mmmm... looks like a proper truck now! Compared to my truck -
So this Sunday I got together with my friend to work on his sagged R50. He currently has the full AC 3"lift with 1" front coil spacers installed, but the hard wheeling and the weight of his bumpers caused the suspension to give out. The R50 in question is the most awesome and hardest wheeled unibody Pathy around. Everything on it is custom built for real trails and not mallcrawling bling. LOL sageriffic! OMG... Purrddyyy new parts. I wonder how long they'll last this time. :| Truck lifted! Coilover madness ahead. Old coils removed... You can see the custom 1" spacer. Here's the spacer by itself. The pair was cut by a waterjet machine in a machine shop. Spacer on a new coil. Coil installed in the truck. Mmmmmmm .. red! Look how nicely it sits now We like the ground clearance. No more saggy coils! Now it's time to get started on the butt end of things. Lifting up the rear axle and taking off the rear wheels/tires. Spring compressor in place Spring removed. Installing new rear springs

lockers in crappy IFS + IRS in aluminum housings with weak driveshafts = disaster waiting to happen.

I had my lugs replaced by the dealer the other day as I stripped ALL OF THEM (had the truck towed and the works..) It cost me less than a $100 canadian for everything including labour. It can be a lot more expensive if you neglect it. Also chrome don't get ya home. sly

Male, female? What are their weights... pics would be helpful. I don't like to make fun of fat people though, they tend to run outta breath when trying to chase me down.

I have my own special method for the alternator removal.... First I take the drivers side wheel off for easy access at the bolts and such. Then I take the rad fan and shroud off, and I remove the alternator going forward and then up. I found the method to be quite simple, especially since it saves me the hassle of lying down on the muddy trail which is when those things like to fail. Taking the fan/shroud off is less than 2 minutes.

Oh sorry. Rack usually means the cross bars. Didn't realise that you have the factory ones. The factory location of the bars is garbage, they're too far back for decent boxes, but you can still get a short box or a basket.

When I had stock shocks, I had it to comfort on the highway and sport in the city. Found a slight difference, maybe placebo effect... dunno.

I would go BFG A/T KO in 31x10.5R15 size, they're $117 at Tire Rack While not as agressive as MTs on harsher trails, they are a fantastic all round tire for occasional wheeler.

I'd say go with Thule or Yakima set of crossbars, and get a basket or a cargo box. You can probably score a base rack (Thule 400 or Yakima Q-Tower) off eBay for cheap, then if necessary get a proper set of clips/pads for the Pathy from a Thule or Yakima retailer. For baskets, there are many options, but I myself have been pimping a Thule Summit box which swallows my tent, sleeping bag, self inflating matteress, some clothing, shoes, jumper cables (25' of AWG2), foldout chairs, potatoe cannon, come alongs, spare oil/air filters, alternator, starter, and more. The box keeps it all dry and out of the view of stupid young punks.

My friend picked up a safari snorkel head on ebay for cheap about a year ago. Just a thought...

http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/produc...&cat=141&page=1 There is something that was thrown at me earlier.... since I am making it a narrow axle.
