  1. Phasing as stated above has nothing to do with axle or tcase and are pretty ambiguous as far as removal and installation alignments as they were mass prododyced and not 1 offs... Visually inspect the shaft for dents missing weight's etc...most slip shafts/yokes are keyed to eliminate errors in phasing if u pulled the shafts apart
  2. Forgot the most important...reinstall my muffler
  3. Efan is on my list to do but not for gone I have 3 altys inmy trail spare box right now with 2 starters...radiator is brokenly but good for a trail spare and if I fix it before then it'll be 100% road worthy...we are dragging a trailer with at least 10 33's in it...I'm driving out on some stock xterra wheels and my buddy is driving out on his current 31s I've got my rock lights and Control box just haven't had time to install it For the CB/radio I'm gonna get creative with the welder and some steel...maybe some fiberglass and bondo but will take pics those r low on the priority list
  4. oh i've got most of my spares part list...i've got 2 sets of 28 auto's and maybe 1 set of 27 auto's plus parts and a body to rebuild a warn all i'm lacking is some TRE's i believe...i'm going to straighten 2 of the ones on my truck currently and probably beef them up with some welding
  5. Well I've been needing to make a list for my preparations for GONE Moab so I figured what better place to post it than on NPORA...i bascially can't do anything during the week...I need 2 or 3 weekends wheeling and i'm moving this coming up weekend so that leaves me with about 6 weekends or 12 days to tear thru this list...i think i'm gonna have to leave some things out but we shall see what i can get done In no particular order: 1. more tires currently have one leaking 2. finish wiring the lights and get my rock lights installed 3. install rear bumper 4. cut off sliders and reweld them 5. finish front bumper 6. replace both TRE's and get an alignment 7. finish repairing compression rod bushings 8. test winch again (hopefully get my synthetic lead and installed) 9. relocate radio and install CB overhead 10. weld up spare tire carrier, flag holder, jerry can holder, high lift holder 11. test wheel it...test wheel it...fix what i break 12. make sure i have trail spares List of spares 1. TRE's (about 4 of each) 2. Ball joints upper and lower 3. idler arm 4. center link 5. auto hubs and manual hub parts, wheel bearings 6. starter 7. altenator or 2 8. radiator 9. belts 10. hoses 11. lower rear links 12. all fluids
  6. i bent mine on a trail..unbolted it at behind the cat and jacked up the body/frame a lil bit to get some room between the rear axle and body and fished it out
  7. baby and momma r home...yum neighbor gave me a jar of strawberry shine...yummmr

  8. Just basically rear quarter panel to rear quarter panel...just want to make sure the pathy isn't wider than the 4 runner for the wrap around corners on this bumper...but if u want u could measure from frame to bottom of sheetmetal vertically
  9. Anyone want to measure width at the rear for my rear bumper? I need to know the difference in gens on 4 runner and pickup
  10. they are off of a 2004 X...now i'm finally home from work i'm going to google as much as i can
  11. Basically i found a set of tires and wheels off an xterra (look like first gen) and I need to know if I can run them on my WD21 as I need driving tires to get to and from MOAB. The price is right and I don't want to buy something that won't work... Don't tell me to search...I don't have time to fight with it on my phone but need an answer ASAP. Thanks
  12. Yep...I initially thought a swing out with the 4 bar but a swing out with the rotational features may be nice...I don't load and unload frequently and if I do its spare parts or camping gear which I usually do through the window
  13. Thanks James...I satole it from an after market Jeep accessories manufacturer that I saw 2-3 years ago and can't seem to find them anywhere...there's used a 12v arc winch and actually loaded it on the roof in one option...ill see if I can start working out the links but I'm busy at work and the baby will be here any day now
  14. a 31 weighs about 55lbs...a 33 weighs about 75 lbs and a 35 weighs about 100 lbs also with a 33 on the stock carrier you loose ground clearance on your departure angle... i don't have a stock carrier on my 87 and don't want to hack up the body to install it...i'm planning on installing a new rear bumper soon that will move my trailer hitch up and increase my departure angle and beefing up the fuel tank skid b/c that becomes the next skid to hit... with a 33 in the stock location it would be dragging here or close to it...i drag my hitch/bumper all the time with no hitch and a spare tire it would drag here: going back up daniel at URE would drag a stock mount: in hte next 12 months i plan to be on 35's so my thought here is i can have a mounting location that allows me to not break my back to change the tire...lets me put it up high offroad hwen i really dont need to look out he back glass and when cruising around town down a little lower so i can see out the rear glass...i think a twin 4 bar link would be the least complex and simple... and heres my deall...75 lbs on a 2' moment arm is 150 ft-lbs or torque on the corner of the bumper so you take a 3-4 g load offroad which is 450-600 ft-lbs that i've got to react back out in the bumper on one side...i'd much rather distribute that load evenly into both frame rails symmetrically I could get super elaborate and do a roof mount lift like i've seen for jeeps but thought that was a little exaggerate
  15. this is more complex than what i'm taking about but gives you an idea...it rotates instead of using a 4-bar link
  16. alright...lemmie see if i can elaborate... this would work but would be difficult to lift with a larger tire... and would not help any of hte following problems that i identified problems with a typical tire mount: 1. difficult to get tire on and off 2. blocks drivers view on daily driving if mounted too high 3. can drag when off roading causing hang ups and/or damage 4. tire weight on a cantilever swing out carrier can be pretty substantial and i dont want to go that route
  17. Basically I want to add a tire carrier onto my truck and i don't want a swing away...I want ot do a twin 4 bar link with strong arms or another means of setting it in 3 positions... position 1: daily driving [middle] position 2: wheeling [top] position 3: loading and unloading spare/opening rear hatch [bottom] below are some images of what i quickly sketched at work...i need to take some time and cut out some scaled pieces of what i have in mind but I was curious if anyone had any 4 bar link tire carriers I'm pretty sure the link that connects to the wheel will have to be some varient of an "L" Sketch:
  18. bad idea...use either aluminum/steel or ASB (or another form of hard plastic) On the other hand I have Calmini UCA's and they did squeak quite a bit but they have quieted down quite a big...I also have their panhard drop brkt (needed a lil love to get it to fit right but i did install it while camping an hour trail time from any paved road and of course i have their torsion bars...they're UCA's are way beefier than any other UCA i've seen except for maybe hte rancho ones i've seen on here a couple of times out of all honesty tho if you're going to get the calmini stuff new...save up a little more and go SAS...i hope to be sas'd in the next year I got a set of long travel rancho shocks and it gives you more flex the A/C rear coils i have dropped out on the trail...my calmini's haven't ever fallen out
  19. everything should be grade 10.8 no matter the lift...i've put one on my 87 and one on my gf's 95...hte lift for the 95 isnt available yet but i did some modifications to make it work...hopefully Steevo from RROR will soon have a 3" BL for the 4 doors off the shelf...but anywho i used hte same kit for both my 87 and 95 (4013 i think) theres a good bit of work involved...def a weekend project by yourslef
  20. usually a pry bar between the engine and tranny gets it moving for me...make sure you have all the bolts out of the trans i think 6 from trans side and 4 from engine side...a motorcycle jack works wonders but i typically use an engine hoist thru the passenger side door....
  21. Had that problem before but the bottom end wouldn't rotate any more....pretty sure I bent a rod and it bad started smoking bad so I knew the rings were going
  22. Had that problem before but the bottom end wouldn't rotate any more....pretty sure I bent a rod and it bad started smoking bad so I knew the rings were going
  23. I want mud tire track pin striping...or RROR pin striping with mud track included...

  24. put air in the RF again for hte 5th day in a row...i gotta swap it with the spare this weekend but for now its nice to have onboard air...
