Are those relays behind the cargo panels? If so, that's gunna be a bitch! Thanks for the layout though. I guess it's time to head to the garage & see what I can find. Thanks a million!
-
OK, I've done some searching & haven't found any helpful info. Ever since I bought the Pathy, the rear wiper hasn't worked. I'm thinking the motor is shot. I figured for a cheap fix, it it works, I bought a relay from Rock Auto for $5.00. Now, I'm trying to find where the damn relay is.....Not with the others under the hood, & not in the rear hatch behind the panel with all the mechanisms. Anyone have a clue where the rear wiper relay is located? Under the dash? Thanks for all your help. By the way, I put a new starter in my Pathy two days ago & forgot how much of a PITA it is. Starts though.

AWESOME! I'm thinking about looking into them also so I can get my 1st Pathy's frame all done up. I do have to say, this newer Pathy I got is nice. Was an Arizona Pathy. SOLID FRAME & NO RUST.

I really really appreciate all the info. With me not having any welding experience @ all, but wanting to learn & find it facinating. I'll keep everyone posted & show some of my work if I feel it's presentable.
-
Thanks fellas! I figured it should work so I can drive if not tow the Pathy 2hrs. I could always have someone later touch it up & make it stronger. I think I'll be getting myself a new welder with-in the next few weeks. Figured it couldn't be a bad buy even for getting my feet wet with welding. Thanks again for your input. I do have a book on welding also. Goes over all the different kinds of welding units.

Alright all you welding guru's.... I'm wanting to get into a little welding. I don't have the money to go out and buy an expensive welder that will do everything. I want to plug & play. So, with that said, I'm looking at a "Northen Tool" 125 Flux core welder for $150.00. "Harbor Freight" also has a 120 amp, 230 volt Mig & Flux welder for $130.00. I was reading the reviews & they both sound really good & performed better then what they are rated for. The Northern tool brand was a plug& weld, while the Harbor Freight you needed to get a few extras to be ready to plug & weld. So, I'm asking for the guru's help if I purchased one of these welders, would I be able to weld up plates for my rusted frame & possibly weld up some bumpers? I was told I couldn't & NO WAY could I use it if I'm wanting to do a roll-cage. Thanks for all your imput everyone!

WOW, Nothing like reading over your own "How to do it" posts. It's time for a knock sensor replacement on this Pathy. I cried when I went back to where my other Pathy is & it runs better then this one. Oh well, this next week I'll be doing the ol' knock sensor. See whatelse I can do. Wish I could get my BL done that week since I'm off the whole week.
-
I should also add that these will be going on my 1st '94 Pathy. Once I get things hoping with that, I'll be dropping in the 383 Stroaker. Will take time, but that is my plans for the next few years. I want to geta start on it.

Alright all! So, I'm beginning to look for components to do my SAS. I'm curious to know who all out there has done this & what you used...If I should go with a Dana 44, or a Dana 60 if I run across a cheap on? Should I look for one from a Chevy, Dodge, or Ford? If price is right & I have the extra money, do I get front & rear so they match, or just regear the Pathy rear? Thanks for all your imput & knowledge. I'm not to knowledgeable when it comes to components like these. I'll be doing some more searching, but I know I can count on the guru's from this site.

Rust Rot frame kit possibly available...
94 Pathy replied to JohnMasters's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I have a '94 with frame rust like yours. I also have some in the middle of the frame also, which I guess can be patched by some flat plates. I'd be willing to purchase some from ya. Any possible way you could get a little wider so they can be bent around & welded together from both inner & outer plates? That would solve the top & bottom of the frame. Weld the two plates together. Just a thought. -
Frame: To paint or not; To undercoat or not.
94 Pathy replied to lint's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I wouldn't use undercoating on the frame. The POR-15 knock-off you used is wonderful. I'm using a cheap version of it from JcWhitney. I'll try & find my can of it & let you know exactly what it is called. I used it on my running bars, hitch, & gas tank. Planning on using it on the frame. Make sure you paint it on while it is humid. Yes, HUMID. It will dry harder & protect better. Good luck! -
I'm I the only one confused about your post? What does undercoating have to do with greasing the hubs? If it does, I'm a complete retard & don't understand & deserve a 4x4. no offense MY1PATH, but I think you were having a

OK, I've hunted & can't find anything, so here goes...... When I installed my manual hubs on the Pathy, the directions mentioned not to grease manual hubs. I was reading an article the other day while on vacation about 4X4 maintenance. If the hubs are too hot to touch & remove, that is a sign they need to be looked @ & greased. I myself, would think you'd want to keep these greased just like axles & gears.....Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you want to keep them greased? Thanks for your help & info ladies & gentlemen.

Welcome to the life of a Nissan Pathy owner. They are known for rear frame rot. My 1st '94 has it bad....Waiting to do some welding & boxing so I can do some serious things with that Pathy. I was pretty lucky on my 2nd '94. An arizonia Pathy. Rust free frame. Getting ready to do the BL & Suspension lift on that one.
-
Well, I would say from my previous Pathy, I would sware by the Platinum 2's. Ran like a champ & better overall. Now this Pathy, they did run like crap & I'm surprised about not all like engines being able to work with them. Just got done changing them out with original style plugs & runs like new. My next goal is to get the knock sensor replaced. Hopefully with-in the next month or two, get my BL & SL on this Pathy. Thanks again for the heads up on the plugs! Time to go play in the water/mud holes
-
Thanks for the heads up on the plug issue. I figured it shouldn't really matter. Figured my previous ran awesome with them, so lets do it with this one. I'll get some standard plugs. Thanks again!
-
I know I put them back on the correct order cause I did one at a time. I suppose I could try new wires. I guess It wouldn't hurt. Good weekend project.
-
Okay everyone! I should say True Gear heads.... I ran diagnostics on this Pathy. Came out with a knock sensor code. I've replaced it on my previous Pathy, but not this one yet..... My issue is: Replaced the spark plugs with Platinum 2's. Just like I did on my previous Pathy. It ran great, but not this one. Lost HP & mileage. Runs like crap also. Wires seem to be fine, changed oil, filters, & even been using a gas additive. Would the knock sensor effect this also? The reason I ask, is cause I never had this issue with my previous Pathy. Could it be MAF sensor or the O2 sensor? Kinda lost with this... Thanks in advance for all the imput!

I purchased some JGC coils also. Used, but from a V8. Curious to know how much longer they are from the Pathy's original coils? How much lift do you get from the JGC coils?
-
Sorry for the confusion. I went ahead with the ZJ coils. Just made payment & hope the ycome soon so I can get them on as soon as I get some UCA's.
-
WOW! Didn't realize I would have to do all that. I did get the ZJ's swapped out for the XJ's. I guess I'll just save them for the future. Are you talking about upper ball joint spacers? I son't have struts. '94 Pathys have UCA's & shocks. Hey Mudd, your '99 has a complete different set up compared to the older Pathys. Thanks for the info!
