  1. ...Too risky business...You risk buying a car and scraping your Path transmission... for, it is not new, and no transmission cooler...you might end up buying a car plus a transmission... and that's not counting the time, money and energy spent ...on the side of the highway, with both vehicules... play logical and safe !!
  2. Yes ...in Quebec...i don't know about the other provinces...anyway , you are better of welding (tig or mig ? i am not a welder...)... if you want to keep your truck for a long time...riveting is artisanal but not as resistant...!!
  3. What about those other magical paints that were on topics lately...for the inside ? ...like Hercule paint ?...well... you live in the desert...you don't risk much...do you ?...except those sand blasts from sand storm ...? but you stilll brought back some rust from East !! http://www.nonslipcoating.com/bodypaint.htm ??
  4. ...Just like i did (my mechano) ...lot's of cutting and welding (reeveting is not legal anymore in Quebec)... we did all the flooring , driver, passenger, under the back seat ( that was free air conditioning in winter...holes 2'x2' ),rebuilted 6 body supports on the frame, replaced both front fenders, counter panel ( under the hatch door ?) rocker panels, also around the lower frame of the back doors... then, painted and tared everything... it was a lot of work...worthed though...until the accident... at least i know, how and where a Pathfinder rusts... Happy rebuilding and lots of welding !!
  5. ...Difficult to understand, why in Canada, we win the International Rust Trophee... year after year... as if, no other country had to deal with snow, ice and slutch... simply...inconcevable !!
  6. ... 4000 miles ? isn't it the time to change the oil all together ? and you do so, why don't you go for synthetic oil (if you don't burn any) ?! ...Your engine will love it...
  7. ... not any worst than the Flintstones...as long as the frame and the mechanic are safe...!!! if your vehicule can withstand those craters in our roads... it is road worthy...!!!
  8. Did you check these ? ...i don't know how you call them ...i remember, my mechanic had to refabricate 3 of them on one side and two on the passenger side. ... support the body on the frame... the frame itself was ok but the flooring gave way... 4 on each side hein ? you must be floating under your feet ?
  9. Fixed ?? you mean cover up... mine wasn't that bad... until i started to smell burnt rubber...it was my shoe melting on the muffler pipe.... i realy hesitate buying a Path in our area...
  10. ...i certainly would... just give me a little time... i am just 15kms from you...but in order to do so i would have to get myself a 96-99 pathfinder... i don't tink you have that much time to wait...
  11. daddy rim, i did something similar, not as fancy though, that is what i call a real bumper... the oem ones are pretty decorative and smushy and easy to scrap...Bravo !!
  12. Many vehicle manufacturers call for Automatic Transmission Fluid for their power steering. http://www.pro-synthetics.com/power_steeri...r_steering.html ...from what i read here...
  13. If any vehicule remains without imatriculation for 365 days minus 1...364, inspection is imperative before putting plates on...new or old...otherwise if you renew every year, you are not subjected to do so, unless you get pull aside because your car would be to messy or falling apart...
  14. As for insurances,as they say so well in english : stfp , keep a low profile... with them
  15. pencil pushers...yes is that how you call them ? i'm sure you got some of them too ?
  16. ...des pousses-crayons !!! if they were better, they would rip you off more... for being better...get over it... there are worst governments, and if, by any chance, you find any better, let me know... they do glow and animate when they smell $$ though... otherwise, well they like paper...white paper...curious alien category....and they are not on the endangered specie's list... as long as you feed them with...paper. and paper with $$ or paper cheques... don't feed them with rubber cheques, they get easily irritated
  17. Next lesson: Progressive springs!...?? ...waiting...
  18. stfu ?? translation please... and plpd ??... wind is blowing hard...barely heard what you were saying...or am i going deaf ?
  19. ...All cleeeeeeeeeeeaaaan and shiny... lots of mud waiting for you now... are you sure you want to get it scratched, mucky and banged all over ? ...so nice i'd drive to the Ritz Carlton with it... ...mine looks like it's been to Iraq or Afghanistan compare to yours... although i am not ashame of it...
  20. ...So you had an accident with your father's jeep, and your Pathfinder is parked in your grand parent's barn... still in critical condition ?
  21. ...I must have missed a chapter ?? i thought you had engine problems and that you were thinking of rebuilding it because of bad compression ??
  22. ...Specifically in quebec, they( insurance companies )are such a bunch of organized institutionnal bandits... ( i am sure this is more than universal ) ...don't say a word... because the day they are going to bury you they are going skin you anyway... they are after money and if you show it ($) they are going to roll you in flour and cake you.., so just shut it with them . when they don't know what to do, they give you answers like you got, and when they know, they roll out the red carpet and they are out for lunch... and you are on the menu !! Average insurance companies,( the secretary)stands for the written lines of every day contracts..beyong that point ? it is going to be costly... that is what is unfortunately business is often all about... how much insurance do you need ? well you got the answer... the average person thinks that paying will cover... P.S. my sister lives in a building of 144 apartments complex in montreal on a montain edge, a heating pipe broke, 20 some appartments got flooded, including hers... she found out that she was insures for earthquake, but not for flooding... and by the way, being totally french myselfzzzzzzzz...did you telle them about your modifs.., telle meeeeeeee ? lol... y va me tomber dessus !!
