  1. ...i get mixed up here, reading... there is a difference between automatic and manual transmissions... auto will go 2500rpm ( with over drive )at 100km and manual will go, in 5th for 91 to 95 models up to 3000 rpm (there is no over drive )...i do not know for later models, but it seems to me that it is an important factor on a long run... not to mention the difference between american gallons and canadian gallon... ... just to mention by analogy, i use to work on ships...one of them was built in two different places... so that ship ended up with a bow built on american standards (imperial mesures) and the rest of the ship, with canadian standards (metric mesures)...the ship had to be "ajusted"...just about 3 inches... to be completed...imagine the calculation of its "displacement" in water... loaded or unloaded in salt water or in soft water ? they should have built a bathtube...just for exercise... ...Acuracy in science remains as long as we can define the parameters...and the same for everyone...meanwhile...
  2. well. ok smaller then Titans bajas ? http://www.off-roadweb.com/features/0512or...y/photo_01.html or some Dakar, Warsaw or italia baja race with Navaros...300 hp. http://palikracingteam.com/en/media/videos/?y=2008

    ECU replacement

thank you edicer2... can't for the moment, i have to wait for the insurances to terminate their report of the accident with the other Path... it is a wait a see situation, although i am shopping around... this guy sales a Path 95 for $550...with a broken ECU...i got to see if anything what is behind this... but i keep your offer in mind...
  8. ...thank you Fleurys, for the info...i found a complement of your explainations on this ...i should have read first...quite deceiving, they should have builded all 4x4 with lockers or lsd to start with... logical...
  9. ...hopefully you will excuse my ignorance...but on a 1991/95, does a T-case acts more or less like a lsd, diametricaly between the back right wheel and the front left wheel, or between the back left wheel and the front right wheel... with a lesser resistance than on the front or back differencial interactivity with their respective wheels ? ouf... i am just about a screw driver mechanic... at this point...
  10. other question that has been debated on other topics...i always thought an observed that when stocked in snow mud... on 4wd low, the right back wheel and the front left wheel synchronize... same for the left back wheel and the right front wheel... true or not true ? if true, it would mean that if you lock the back wheels, it would mean that the front wheels do also lock ? right or wrong ?
  11. ...i have seen that advertising of a Path 95 for sale (cheap and not badly rusted ! ) but ''95 Nissan Pathfinder with broken computer ''...so i shop around to figure if it is worthed to replace the ECU i got this : http://ruggedrocksoffroad.com/jet-import-e...995-p-3887.html Is it worthed or not ...? thank you in advance for your opinion !! don't know if i wrote this in the right place...
  12. ....Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh would say Paillasson ...that is exactattakly what was on my wishsshh list.... !!! ...expensive ? ... and do you plan any lsd or front locker too for the front...? cause there is a little room for another switch Félicitations !! P.S. ...might be a stupid question but where did you install the compressor ?
  13. ... fine sawdust... if any woodmil around your area...
  14. ...my hitch did not save my truck...but i surely made some architectural carving in the BMW X5's radiator and bumber... that rammed into me...that kind of consolate me...
  15. I second Alexred20 for the order of choice
  16. . it's an old trick, when your stock... i'm sure it works with an F-150 !! :hide:
  17. check in the General topics...To Garage...How to's... page 2... if ever, you have to do so...
  18. ..yes check your starter and see if you don't have one of the bolts broken which would make your starter crooked and jammed...Happen to me once...i put a new bolt on it...otherwise you can always bang it gently with a hammer...sometimes they jam... to start with !!
  19. ...Battery is dead ? i mean, low battery voltage ?
  20. .While my 1991 5 speed manuel trans Path was under repairs, i drove for few months , a 1990 with automatic transmision Path... from what i recall, is that at 100km/h (60 miles/h) my 1991 was reving at 3000rpm in 5th gear and the 1990 auto trans was reving at 2500rpm at 100km/h... mainly driving every day between 50km and 100km on highway type road... From this experience...i'd say you get more torque out of a manuel transmission but it is less economic due to the lack of a 6th speed ...as for the automatic transmission, it is more efficient because of the overdrive... thus more economic... ...coincidence ? i would get about 100km/60miles more out of a full tank on the automatic... each time... ...On low speed (offroad), you would probably get better grip (adherence), due to the smoother and constancy of automatic transmission...but with less manoeuvrability...?! needless to talk about fuel economy...offroad... i guess... to each of his own...
  21. to my point of view... should i say, the best way of feeling the ''heart' of any vehicule while driving it and controling it, is with a manual transmission...always been, and will always be... and even more with big tires... ...it does require more attention, more acuteness... a good mental exercise... and believe it or not i got no more back problems driving long hours because of my readiness posture to interact with my left foot....on the clutch... we have a tendency to bend or deviate the column using only the right foot while driving an automatic...
  22. Good idea !!! should improve night driving...never tried them... any appreciable difference ? if so make sure you are not blinding anyone coming towards you...
  23. ... if just for one day CA meant... Canada instead of California... As you say tekazgtr1984... it's the JDM turbo diesel... what a dream...i give you the wheels...i keep the truck ...''sigh'' ''soupir''
