cv joints at dangerous angle
OfftourRoadie96 replied to moreboost2005's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
"Greetings masters of the Pathy....I have a 1999 Pathy with 2"in lift coils, gr-2 struts up front and rx17000 shocks in the rear. My problem is that now i have installed the lift springs, the inner and out boots on both sides in front have ripped due to the extreme angle....any idea how to rectify this (no im not removing the lift springs)....taller tires, better cv's, etc????" Just curious, what Wheel/Tire Combo are you running?.......I'm soon to install my AC Lift as well, BUT am going to use After Market Weels and New Tires. Curious how much of an angle mine will be at? I'm ordering my Manual Hubs Today. -

Well, I've finally decided to go with some 15 x 8 Rock Crawler Series 97 Black Monster Mod Wheels with the 3.75" Back Spacing. I'm gonna get them from my local 4WheelParts Store here in Cleveland. Also, I scored 3 - BFG 32 x 11.5 x 15 Mud Terrain TA's (2 of them with 75% Tread Left, the other one with only 10% which I'll use as a spare tire) for only $75.00! Thanks CraigsList. Now if I can only find 2 more BFG Mud TA's. Still waiting for a few more things before I Install my lift.....Hopefully by next week! -
Which Suspension lift package?
OfftourRoadie96 replied to OR99.5Speed's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
Gotcha.... Thanks for the info! It looks like I'll get my lift done here in Ohio....There's a mechanic guy here that my wife tattooed in exchange for putting a new motor in here tracker! The cool thing is that him and his partner have this killer shop....But for a living they do Heating and Air Conditioning for corporate building, or something like that.....Anyway, they work on trucks "Just For Fun" or if they feel like it. Really Cool Guys! I really appreciate the help/offer....I don't anticipate being in Maryland anytime soon....but will be at Merriweather Post August 1st (Working Thou) Well have to hook up sometime in the future. -

Which Suspension lift package?
OfftourRoadie96 replied to OR99.5Speed's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
Its the 9000XL - 9 position adjustable one.....from what I was told Rancho does not even acknowledge it fitting a pathfinder....it's for a DODGE DURANGO! Go Figure -
I'll definitely keep that in mind.....And Congratulations! I work for bands that tour and I'll be in Canada..... Tues Aug 11th - The Agora - Quebec City, QUE Wed Aug 12th - Bell Center - Montreal, QUE Fri Aug 14th - Molson Amphitheater - Toronto, ONT Sun Aug 16th - The Burton Cummings Theater - Winnipeg, MAN Tues Aug 18th - MacEwan Hall - Calgary, AB Wed Aug 19th - Shaw Conference Center - Edmonton, AB When you said "Slap It On" I assume that means "bolt on" or would it have to be welded on? I have no welding skills! If it Bolts On....Then maybe I could meet you in one of these cities....and I could just throw the bumper in one of our semi trucks and install myself when I get home! Obviously, Free Tickets To The Show! I'm a little tapped for cash right now....I haven't toured since November And I too have a kid...4 Year old little girl. Money won't start rolling in until June anyway. You can PM me a price, but I am very serious. Take Care! Jose Baraquio OffTourRoadie96

relocating spare tire under rear of Pathy
OfftourRoadie96 replied to rick88ss's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Does anyone know if you can attach a "Stock" swing tire carrier if your vehicle didn't originally come with one??? I noticed that the license plate on the rear hatch is a little different but have never really looked close enough to see how they actually attach to the rear quarter panel. -
WOW! That looks AMAZING! So, would you be able to make another one without fitting it on the actual truck??? I'd be interested in one....I not to worried about shipping.....I travel alot and could possibly pick it up when in your neck of the woods. Whats the "ball park figure" in buying one from you?

I've almost got "EVERYTHING" for my lift.....So far I've got.... AC Coils KYB GR-2 (Front Struts) Rancho RS999010XL (Rear Shocks) New OEM Strut Mount Bearings, Boot/BumpStops, Strut Mount Insulator,Spring Upper Seat, Seat Spring Rubber, Spacer Camber Alignment Bolts (Summit Racing) Still Waiting For...... 1" Spacer from NX4 Warn Manual Hubs Wheels and Tires -
Hopefully this isn't a dumb question.....What does hubcentric mean? I still trying to decide what rims I want to go with, and while I was looking at 4WheelParts, they have similar rims with the 6 x 5.5 Bolt pattern and a choice of either HUBCENTRIC Yes or No??? Also, How Does This Affect Warn Manual Hubs, Because I do plan to install them with my AC lift?

Ready To Buy 5 New Rims!
OfftourRoadie96 replied to OfftourRoadie96's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I've found some 15 x 8 Cragar Soft 8's, well 2 different one's , 4" B.S. and 4.75" B.S. I have a 96 SE 4x4! Which back spacing should I get? What tire size should I get to get 32" with minimal rub if any? or they have 16 x 8 with 5" B.S. is 5" B.S. too much? -
Hi All, I'm FINALLY ready to buy some rims for my 96 SE 4x4.......I decided to go Black Steelies (D window type) and I really like the look of the 32" Tires.....I don't mind "minor" trimming of inner fender pieces. My stock wheels are 15 x 7.....which I will more than likely sell....wink wink. Here's my questions, What is the difference if I go 15" or 16"? Should I go with the 15 x 8 or 16 x 8? Like I said, I want to go for the 32" look or as realistic as possible. Should I go with more or less backspace, I've seen BS as little as 3.75 all they to 5"!!! Any place you'd recommend to get the best price for these rims? I TRUST THE FORUM 100% so I do value all of your opinions.... I plan to go with either an AT or Mud Tire.....Opinions on sizes with the 15 or 16 are welcomed too! Thanks again for all your help in getting me this far on my project and reaching my goal of getting my truck lifted...DAMN I'm getting close....Tires and manual hubs.....then ready for install! I'd love to get this done before I leave to go on tour.....

So you want to lift your 96-up Pathy?
OfftourRoadie96 replied to BigBikeMike's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
I'm slowly still acquiring all my lift parts.....I trying to figure out what stock/old OEM parts I can still use on my 96 when I install my lift....Obviously, everyone agrees to replace the strut bearings with NEW OEM ones, what about things like, the 2 strut insulator brackets (which I'll have to drill out the pressed in bolts to add a 1" spacer) should I go new? and the pieces that go under the strut bearing, the seat and rubber pieces?, what did you guys do?.....Now that I'm getting closer to getting ALL the parts for my lift, I'm getting a little antsy trying to cut corners and not replace EVERYTHING with new parts! Money's a little tight now, until I go back out on the road (touring). But then, most likely won't get it done until late summer early fall, then. -

A really cheap way of doing this and still get the same effect, although probably not as bright, is to get a piece of lighting gel....its a thin paper like film of color, put it anywhere where light shines through, I've put it in my interior lights and map lights....even behind my turn signals....I will eventually do the same with mine, and change all my interior lights with LED's too, but I'm still working on my Lift Parts! -
Don't know what they plan on charging.

I had a question reguarding the NX4 1" Strut Spacers where they had different options which I finally understand now....but the email reply I got from NX4 is what really intrigued me.... Post #35 NX4 Spacers Good evening, It all depends on what you, the customer, want. For example, the factory press in studs are 10mm, the nearest imperial size is 3/8" (9.525mm). This is more of a direct replacement. For added strength, I offer 7/16" (11.1125mm) fasteners, or 1/2" (12.7mm) fasteners, all GR8. 7/16" and 1/2" fasteners require some minor drilling in the strut mounts to accommodate the larger fasteners. The option also exists (recommended but optional) to thread the fastener. This helps secure the fastener in place to assist in installation. I will also within a week or two, be offering complete upper strut assemblies with pressed in studs already in the lower mount, of the aformentioned sizes. This will eliminate any difficulties in assembling, and eliminate the need to thread the spacer. If you wish, I will add you to our mailing list to keep you posted on product and service developments. I hope this answers your questions Warmest regards Jeff Rimmer CET Owner Operator NX4 Industries sales@nx4industries.com www.nx4industries.com COMPLETE UPPER STRUT ASSEMBLIES WITH BUILT IN SPACER!

Very Impressive!, Are there any same type modifications for the early R50's (96-98), with an early, lets say Xterra??? or Frontier (not sure if they had them back in 96?) Or, does the Air Locker System work on Early Year R50's????
