  1. Haven't worked on the Pathy in a while, but did manage to change out my motorcyles fork seals yesterday!

  2. Had a guy come up to me in the parking lot of my college, to ask me where I got my NPORA sticker. Does anyone still make them?

  3. Just got back from camping. The same camping trip that killed my automatic transmission a few years ago. Happy to say the 5 speed survived without issue.

  4. Both my pathy and my motorcycle were born in 6/1995...

    1. Karmann

      Karmann

Cool, my bike and pathy are 31 years apart.

  5. Damn drivers side tow hook holes stripped outoday. Guess I get to drill and tap them to 14mm tomorrow. Not much fun driving around without the new bumper on. :(

That sucks, but it might be cheaper/easier to with 9/16-18 tap and bolt instead. The are very close in size...

I already have the M14x1.5 tap. *shrug* Local places give me a good deal on metric bolts too.

Will keep that in mind, we should have a 9/16-18 tap at school.

    3. Precise1

      Precise1

Well, if you already have one, don't listen to me!

      A 9/16-18 would be a M14.29x1.41

  6. I wish I could find a front-end wrecked D21 for cheap. Want to make a D21 trailer for my WD21!

Honestly Bud, I don't think you will find anything much cheaper than that. WD21s are worth $300-400 scrap last time I checked.

    3. Slartibartfast

      Slartibartfast

That's probably why I keep finding busted WD21s on Craigslist for $300-400.

Yeah, starting to see that it may be cheaper to just buy an actual trailer.

  7. What are your favorite, or least favorite, features in a front bumper?

My least favorite feature in a front bumper is when they are essentially useless. Yes Mr WD21, my 1978 VW has stronger bumpers than you...

That is my exact reason for building a new one. Damn things are especially worthless after a body lift.

  8. Is there a source for two inch lift coils for the wd21? These three inch ac ones are too tall for my liking.

I've read countless arguments for and against, I've bought many different brands of springs over the years, and I've also cut an inch or two off many springs for myself and others and never really noticed much difference at all. People love to argue about is one, but I have done it and think its just fine. Moderation is the tick. Just trim off about half of what you would like to lose, and see where that puts it.

Seriously, this is nowhere near the big deal some folks...

Are they progressive rate or straight-rate springs? If they are PR then it could feasibly effect the spring rate or at least the range of which the rate changes, depending on which end and how much you take off. But I would imagine that they are SR springs, so the sprint rate should not be effected at all.

I think JGC springs are the best way to go. I carry about 200 lbs. of gear in the back of my pathfinder, and the JGC springs offer a really comfy ride. This should be a post.

  9. Ordered a 2" body lift. My local supply house doesn't have M12 x 150mm bolts in the extra fine 1.25 thread. Where did everyone else get theirs?

It was my understanding that you needed new bolts for the 3 inch, not the 2. But I could be wrong

Sorry, not familiar with the BL for your truck, but a 6" bolt for a 2" BL? Is the OE bolt 4"? Anyway, I get all my hardware from boltdepot.com...awesome selection, awesome service. They don't have a 150mm in that size though.

If you got it from 4x4 parts they should include the proper size in the kit. I recently put a 2" on my 95. The proper size bolts were in the kit.

  10. To those that have put an R50 console in a WD21 - When moving the emergency brake, did the drivers side e-brake hole no longer sit on the transmission tunnel?

    1. nunya

      nunya

When I did the JGC console and moved the handle I had to bend a tab so I could bolt it to the side of the tunnel

had to bend a tab when I did the QX4 console

  11. So my truck is currently redlining @ 8K+ rpms. Did I mention the engine is off?

  13. Why is a 90amp Maxima alt cheaper than a WD21 70amp?

  14. In the past two weeks, my rear defrost, blower motor, and gauge cluster have all stopped working. Time go check some ground points.

  15. Battery reads 12.7V, 14.1 with the engine running, yet the charge light is on on the dash?

    1. CO_pathfinder

      CO_pathfinder

At least your charge light comes on. One of the 8 bajillion grounds we have must have come loose / corroded away.

  16. What year/model of Ford bearing cups do people use for strut rod repairs?

You can just take the bushing into a parts store and have them find the one that fits best.

  17. Cheater bars, impact gun, pb blaster, & a jack. Not enough to remove the passenger side panhard rod bolt. :(

  18. Headed to the JY this morning!

  19. Sheena's in a goth gang now....

  20. Installing a new Sachs flywheel...and my bolts from the automatic flex plate are too short! Grrrrr. Anyone know the proper length for flywheel bolts? I know they are M10x1.0...

  21. Grrrrr, you know it's a bad day when you can't even get the RMS retainer off.

  23. Just cleaned the flame sensor in my gas heater. It's actually warming up in my house now!
