Wow! I'm not the only one... I thought it was because my bumper is smashed in and up a little bit but maybe not. I think installing a factory one and going through the trouble of getting the brackets in would still be easier than fabricating a new jeeper-type one.

MY XE has the tire rack on back... but yes if the truck didn't have it on in the first place it won't have the brackets. I hear AC sells the brackets but you still have to chop through some welds and sheetmetal to get them to sit where they need to go. That and since you have to tack weld them on (that is how Nissan did it) it may ruin your paint because you are heating it up... however I do not know much about welding and if it's just a small weld it might not do anything.

You guys rock... it was my MAF sensor being a little dirty. All of the puzzle pieces have fallen into place now and I understand why it was the MAF. I have been hitting a few trails lately, about 4 in the last 2.5 weeks (aren't you guys proud of me? I've finally after having the Pathfinder for two years have started taking it on some fairly-difficult trails...too hard for 2WD but easy enough for a begineer type of trails). I've heard of guys who clean their MAF every time after off-roading and since it's been extremely dusty (no rain recently) that must of been it. Thanks again for helping me fix a simple problem... you saved me a hundred bucks or more maybe.

I have a '95 XE and last June I had a problem of the engine dying whenever it idled. It would always start right back up. So I ran over to Tuffy and they said it was a combination of my distributer cap, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. That is when I decided to go ahead and buy an MSD 6A Ignition and do everything at once (since running an MSD requires high-performance wires anyways). So new distributer cap(isn't this also called a rotor cap), new Taylor spark plug wires and Bosch +4 spark plugs all went on. The truck ran perfect after all that. Then I put the MSD in and it ran even better. Basically, the only thing on the ignition system I didn't replace was the coil. Anyways, yesterday my truck starts stalling out exactly like it did 6 months ago. Makes the same bad smell and everything, kind of like a 2-stroke engine smell. Here's my theory: With the added spark power from the MSD Ignition, it simply wore out my stock coil. Does that sound about right? I figure I'll bump up to the MSD Blaster 2 coil as it was designed for the greater burden of a high-performance ignition system.

I'm going to have to try it now.

Sorry for pointing ot the obvious but I figured wipers can clear any liquids off a windshield not just water. The authorities in Australia or whatever are crazy.

Rain sprays onto the winshield and nobody gets hurt... if my radiator blows up and antifreeze is all over my windshield I think I'd use my wipers.

JDM MAD TYTE STYLEZ YO... arrived today!

That brought a question to mind... aren't you in Canada? Don't you guys use km? -
Shoving 31's on a Pathfinder originally equipped with 235/75R15 won't have much effect on anything. I noticed a slight loss in power so I got an AirHog filter from Wal-Mart the next day and it seemed as though I got all my acceleration back.

He owns BlackPanther Armor. He's got a link in his signature. Pretty sweet skids even if I'll never hit anything with it (my off-roading is limited). I'm just waiting for the rock washers before I get mine.

You know a friend of mine wanted a short shifter on his CRX but didn't want to pay for anything... we took some bolt cutters to it and took about 2.5" off then epoxied a new knob on. Maybe you should try the same thing... you know since everyone wants a short shifter in their Pathfinder... -
Didja seal it back up? Don't want you to turn your turn signal housing into a fish bowl.

It would actually probably be better to replace the catalytic converter with a glasspack than to straight pipe it. Remember that if you lose too much backpressure, you'll lose some low-end torque. Going from second-hand information, a glasspack in place of a catalytic converter sounds better than stock and also better than a high performance cat, but not as good as straight pipe. But it's a good balance of every aspect.

Out of curiosity, what's the update on the rock washers?
-
Mine sort of works... if I close the tire carrier with the alarm on it'll go off.

We need some frickin' pictures!

I don't think negative feedback is a bad thing. I've done a couple things on my Pathfinder that I got crap about and now that I look back at it I realize it was sort of stupid. I've also got crap about other things such as the location of my oil filter and look at it and still completely love what I've done with it. Negative feedback is a good thing, and it's way better than just lying(is that the right way to spell it) to the guy or just not saying anything. I appreciate your negative feedback V6.

Does anyone have any pictures of the Hardbody hood on a Pathfinder?
-
Yeah I've cruised through there a few times. There are only 5 posts in the entire forum... that's why I don't really check back often.
-
Yeah I've known about the VG30I supercharger for awhile. But considering the fact that they were saying it was going to be done very soon back in July, when they say the VG30E version will follow shortly after I take that as a year or two. I thought you guys had found one somewhere else.

Is there no way to get just a PA and no CB?
-
Okay, I'm not coming up with anything when I search Google. I don't really need a CB, but I really want a PA (it's always been on my list but way below everything else until this thread showed up). Can somebody point me in the right direction?
-
hahaha! That is hilarious!

I simply disconnected mine when they started cracking and do not miss them at all. If you have some decent 2-way speakers in the doors that sounds pretty good as is. I can't recommend or disrecommend any tweeters unfortunatly, I've never bought aftermarket ones.

Supercharger? Did I hear this correctly?
