  1. I think you may be used to driving sports cars or something, but braking has never been good on Pathfinders. Pads won't give you much results and they definately won't make you satisfied especially since you thought the slotted rotors weren't working out... with those slotted rotors you probably have some of the best brakes on this forum. The next step is stainless steel brake lines. I hear they make a huge difference. Here is a link: http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...07153099725d778 Or if you have a lift: http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/i...07153099725d778
  2. Do they make Chilton's manuals for this new of a vehicle? That would be your best bet. I don't understand why he would try to keep it a secret, there's already about 5 other guys that have done this already.

As far as tires go, it depends on how often you go off-road. The BFGoodrich All-Terrains are awesome off-road compared to the Duelers. I have the BFGoodrich All-Terrains and it was my worst investment I've made because I put many miles on in a year. Like 25,000 of them. BFGoodrich rubber is way too soft for mostly road tires like I've been treating them. So it's almost been a year since I got my tires and I'm already shopping for new tires. I should of gotten the Dueler All-Terrains. And whenever I go off-road, it's tame enough that the Duelers would work just fine.
  4. Like this guy? Looks sweet. I emailed him (not enough '05/'06 owners yet so I'm trying to help out).
  5. See, I told you body lifts were for off-road guys.
  6. Oh. And my XE has power windows. So maybe this poll should be power windows vs. manual windows that you literally 'roll up'.
  7. But really guys, who would find out?
  8. Sure it is. You'd be surprised at how many off-roaders refuse to outfit their truck with a body lift. Actually, now that I think about it, it's the truck/SUV owners that never take their vehicles off-road that don't like the body lifts... off-roaders will usually combine both.
  9. 1.57480315 inches? Doesn't anybody else find that kind of worthless? I have 1" rubber boosters on my stock springs and they cost me $8. Or $12 I can't remember. No it was $8 plus some tire shine which came out to $12.
  10. 40mm? That doesn't help me at all. Might as well be speaking Spanish to me. Or I guess I could go to an online converter. Yes. Yes. That's what I'll do.
  11. Old Man Emu is really just a kit for people who want to keep everything stock except the ride height and don't like the look of a body lift. What's this Ironman business? I've never heard of them and couldn't find how much lift their kit provided. I'm actually interested in that company as I am on the lookout for good torsion bars and haven't made my choice yet. I've heard that Calmini is your best bet for a 3" lift. Their kit includes everything and isn't missing components. For example, with 3 inches of lift in the front, you need upper control arms but Ironman doesn't make those. You could try to mix and match parts such as getting the Ironman kit and then adding Superlift UCA's.
  12. A firefighter? Those guys are my heros. I always look at a firefighter and think 'That's a job I would enjoy doing.' I would like to drive the truck at 70 mph through traffic legally.
  13. You have to admit, our search function sucks. I type in the exact thread title and it won't pop up until 5 pages into the results.
  14. I think that if you put a good enough driver in a new Pathfinder, it could stomp a WD21 into the dirt. While a capable rig helps, I think that as close as this call is it's more up to the driver. Geo Trackers are sometimes refered to as capable not because they have big tires or a bunch of clearance but because the owners could care less if he broke it... so he's more aggressive.
  15. Yeah, thanks to punks like you our neighbors have had two extremely expensive full-scale windows busted out and another neighbor has had his mailbox done in 2 or 3 times I can't remember. Our's has been busted up once. I probably did worse in other places though so it never hurt my feelings too much. Actually, the Pathfinder isn't getting fixed quite yet. It was supposed to go in today but the guy at Cottman is an ass. I asked 'Worst case scenario... say I need a whole new transmission. What kind of a ballpark figure can you give me?" That smartass says "Worst case scenario is that we replace the transmission and that wasn't the problem." Okay, smartass, I know what a failing transmission does... our old '92 Accord had a bad one and my Prelude's clutch slipped like all get out. Bastard thinks I'm just some rich tool just like you guys do. :X Did I say that out loud?
  16. I started a thread sort of like this to help me get ideas (and to show off my own). It has a few little doodads that are simple to do: http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...t=0entry47325 I get my ideas from looking through pictures on CarDomain and other sites. Even looking at Supras and RSX's can give you good ideas on your Pathfinder... or at least that's the approach I take.
  17. I'd say we don't fit into our environment very well. So I figure I'll turn out okay. Our neighbors are stunned that we mow our own lawn and cut up our fallen trees with chainsaws after ice storms... usually they pay to have that stuff done.
  18. I just remembered that I live in a different type of area than most of you. I have friends with Escalades. My neighborhood has an ordinance that states if your vehicle has a dent in it, it has to be parked in the garage (which is why I get the garage). My Pathfinder is the POS of the neighborhood. And easy about those speeding tickets... I enjoy speed and deserve the tickets I get. I don't complain.
  19. Has your transmission gone out yet? I keep mine up for the most part... I've had to get the brakes fixed twice, bushings, ball joint, CV axles, spark plugs and wires, new battery, new tires (which I seriously overpaid for), plus a few modifications here and there. I also dumped about 700 total into my Thorley headers. Are you a senior?
  20. Are you guys serious? I thought it was the parent's responsibility to maintain the kid's car. I'm still in high school. I think since my job requires a car and with that job I've been able to pay for all my gas, insurance, speeding tickets, most of my food, etc. he's probably still not losing money by helping me out with my transmission. It's not like I have that kind of money laying around and he realizes that I'm sure. Anyways, it's going into the shop tomorrow and I can't wait to get it back. Delivering in the Suburban and Accord have been fun but I'm ready to get in the Pathfinder again.
  21. Well. Lucky me. My dad paid for a new transmission and installation behind my back for Christmas so I'm good to go. I was sort of looking forward to a manual transmission though.
  22. Calmini will have a lift out soon enough. And I'm sure Runnerman will have some skidplates out for your truck soon enough.
  23. So your pictures aren't really your pictures? They're somebody elses? Aren't they the professional website's property? Nice pictures though.
