While we are at it, one way to pull the latch and pull up on the hood at the same time while by yourself is to use a bungee cord on the latch pull to keep it pulled open, then go to the hood and pull up.

The only real change in that era was the timing belt and that didn't happen till mid model year 93 (ie in 93, not 92). My 93 is a pre switch build with the 60k t-belt.

I doubt they would, but do they list the part numbers for the studs that were put in? You should be set, they should be the better quality ones which do not break.

My money is on a coil or distributor cap issue. You said it was damp?

Basically,... when were they changed? IIRC the spec wasn't changed until the mid 90s on the replacement stud types. Until then, they just swapped the same as original in, which eventually break again for the same reason that the originals broke.

You could probably get a Yakima setup with a Load Warrior and mount the lights off the bottom tubes and the canoe carrier off the top tubes. As for the tire carrier, I think someone else on here is about to do the install, look around, maybe share notes.

There is no "conversion kit", just new hubs. If you want to remove them till you get new ones the safest thing would be to pull the autos off, then pull the guts out of it(including pulling the snap ring and removing the part on the stub shaft, replace the snap ring afterward) and bolt the outer cover piece back on to keep the stub shaft and bearings clean.

Unless listed otherwise they are sold in pairs, at least new.

They made 27 and 28 spline ones. The 27 spline ones are on all (all wi/o autos) HB 4x4 until 90, 91+ have 27 spline on 4cyl and 28 spline on V6. I know an Xterra owner who ordered a 28 spine set from Nissan,dunno what the cost new though.

Check your coil and distributor cap for any cracks. When the casing on my 88s coil cracked it acted just like my 93 did when it's fuel filter was clogged, which is just like you are discribing.

Mine are the same, and someone said that using a non backflow filter would even eliminate that short tick at startup.

When I was in high school I remember hearing about a test the CHP did (this was before the limit was dropped to .08) where they did a driving test after drinking. They did the test sober, then did it with 1 beer in the hour before driving, then tested with 2 beers, then 3 beers, and stopped at 4 beers. When sober the patrolman drove fine, with 1 beer he actually drove better than sober, with 2 beers he was back to about the same as sober, with 3 he started to make mistakes and with the 4th he did terrible.

Well if you put it like that then, I'll drink, but no more than I would if I was going to drive on the road. If I've had less than 2 in the last hour I'd drive. (I'm taking beers too, anything hard and I ain't driving.) I've been on club runs where I had too much and then everyone decided to go back out, I just took a passenger seat.

3 washers stacked with a standard weld bead around theoutside and they won't snag, a nice pretty bead will just be like a chamfer on the edge .

At least you are aware of your flaws..... Really, it's not hard, support the botom of the door with a jack stand (about 2-3 inches below door, more a saftey catch than support) and roll down the window and ratchet strap the top of the door off to a tree limb or the roof rack, etc. Knock the bushings out with the drift and a hammer, tap the new ones in, repin, clip and done.
