  1. Events like this bring out the best and worst in people. Some people get selfish and greedy to help only themselves, while others go out of there way and give all they can to help others. Just the nature of the human beast. Good to hear all you sheep lovers made it through this one!
  2. I would expect an "official" thread to be one started by the admin, not some part time user.
  3. Yeah, google will come back with all the people who had them crack and fall apart too. Cheapest suspension lift is to crank the T-bars and shim the UCAs and get JGC coils for the rear. If you are worried about ball joint angles, get Rough Country UCAs.
  4. It looks a lot like this hole in that pic.
  5. I thought that was on Rocky Mtn. Loop?
  6. Yep, 93 still has mechanical speedo. As far as working in a pre 93, with some rewiring it would. The plug connections on the back are different on the 93, but it still has the same square dash as 92 and older. 93 was just the oddball transition year, it had some changes, but was still closer to the 92 than the 94.
  7. Yes it is diesel, but yes a snorkle helps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr8eEWyKQHM
  8. 2 good points there . But, then there are people who do that and end up with things like this:
  9. With mine, the 2 rubber couplings at either end of the tube allow enough flex for the motor when it "torque twists". (Our engines torque twist )
  10. Why not just find a newer console, they are larger than both your original and the one you made? I swapped the one in my 88 out for one from a 94.
  11. I carry a lot of things in mine that wouldn't fit with a setup like that. It's all about what works for you though .
  12. I busted the upper platic part of the panel all up on my 88, so I removed it from the panel and reinstalled the panel on the door, I then took an outside bottom window seal and clipped it on the inside to steady the window. There is just exposed painted steel between the seal and the panel now. Tried to find a pic, but I don't have one.
  13. That's new, K9 being the stalkee instead of the stalker.
  14. Yeah, looks like the CV joint gave out. Can you move the shaft around at all by hand?
  15. Nice how they explained why they changed axles.....then poof it is done. It would have been nice if they even spent 2 minutes talking about how they made those axles actually attach to the Pathfinder, and how they ran the steering linkage etc. etc., but they didn't care about it, they just wanted to say it was finished so people wouldn't ask about it anymore.
  16. Yeah, you have to do maintenance or it will fall to pieces. Obviously your daughter (typical woman ) didn't keep up on minor repairs and now you are stuck with bigger issues. As Dowser said, you have probably less than $3000 into it now, put another $2000 into it and it could go another 250-300 thousand. Or scrap it for $50 and go get a loan on another car that will need maintenance also.
  17. I'd keep the Leaf, but wouldn't push past it until I saw how it was selling and being received by the buying public. If it became a hot item, I'd look into an Electro-Cube next. Jumping off to much into full electrics would probably be a mistake.
  18. Yeah, they were getting them fully custom made. From what I heard they were going to basically be Hummer reduction (portal) boxes slapped on the ends of a narrowed D60, guess that didn't work out so well.
  19. Actually wheel spacers would probably make them rub worse, especially on the body. They will probably rub the frame a little being that wide, but a minor steering stop adjustment would prevent that.
  20. You changed directions, auto hubs unlock and relock when you change direction, only thing I heard was them doing that. At least you weren't really on the gas when it locked back in, that can be scary loud and sometimes cause the instant grenade. You should be able to find some Nissan manual hubs pretty easily, they were stock on a lot of Hardbodys. Check the classifieds here or the local j-yards. The Nissan manuals are the most bullet proof. The Mad river up by Arcata has some good Salmon and Steelhead fishing, same with Big Lagoon further north. A few of my high school friends go to Fort Bragg to go Abalone hunting.
  21. You have to change the arm if you use the non-powered box.
