  1. Or get wheels with decent back spacing/offset if you don't want to run spacers. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  2. Well, it's as done as it's gonna get before my CANVAZ trip this weekend. I will eventually put some plate up top and some additional brackets under the quarter panel for support. I've been pretty pleased with the cuts. My AZ flag apparently had some hidden lines that got cut, but I went with it. Cheapo MicTuning lights off Amazon are wired to the reverse lights...and make the OE bulbs look like garbage. I also made a new missing link and mid skid... Super pleased with the results. It slides on/off just like the front skid, and now all the hardware is matched for a single socket. ... I know this thread started off for front bumper brackets, but I've come a lot farther than expected. I'm still planning to go through with the front brackets for those interested, but still need another week or so to finalize a few things and put some numbers to things. I'm absolutely exploring options to make skids and missing link available, too. Stay tuned!

  4. 275 75 16s fit on stock wheels with high-quality hub centered 1" wheel spacers with little issue. These tires are a tad bigger than 32" tires and only required a small inside front bumper trim and removing front mudflaps

  5. Yeah - that is how a trunk should look! Sucks when it is stolen, but ready for anything. That is insane...I know it was a while ago, but I'm sure getting one car stolen and the other stripped isn't something you easily move past. Thanks for the suggestions on the tool and gear storage...I had my gear in bins, which made them more of a pain to move back and forth out of the car. I think a bag like that makes more sense, and will encourage me to be a bit less lazy. Unfortunately, we don't have any garage storage, but it's not like I'm heading out on trails every weekend.

  6. OHHHH! Ha! That would explain it. It was driving me crazy...i went to several junkyards (found a nice post-facelift rack for cheap) but never found another R50 with the same black rails as I had, even the same year. I figured it might be some weird XE quirk (I'm apparently the only person in los angeles with a manual pathfinder). When I get some time next week I'll see if I can get that stripping off. I already have the rails (assuming the attachment points are the same pre and post 1999), so after I fix the rust spots I'll be good to go. Thanks for the suggestion!

  7. If you run a skinny 33, ie a 10.5 not 12.5 section, or a 255/85r16 they'll fit better than a 12.5 or a 285/75r16

  8. For about $50 a piece (so cheaper than the average quality wheel spacers) you could get 15" wheels of the proper specs. I had great luck with ProComp PCW51-5883. To run 33's, you're going to have to do some serious trimming. A handful of people have done it on 2" lifts, and it really does require butchering the body panels.

  9. Very nice! Looks really clean. Big fan of that color.

  10. You need camber bolts to correct the suspension. They replace 1 or both of bolts that connect the knuckle to the struts. 2" or more of lift from spacers can potentially cause over extension of CV axles in off road situations so be careful.

  12. I just want to say you are awesome and I'm still interested in at least the brackets as I initially stated. The actual bumpers are a surprise welcome though, for me it'll be all about the $$. I won't be able to make it to Quartzsite this winter anyway as I was hoping for health reasons so the cost of shipping would probably be significant for the entire bumper. Unbelievable progress though, I agree softening the corner on the rear would look pretty sweet but it sticking out to be able to stand on would also be nice. Keep it up man, this is still an awesome thread to watch.
