Yours brings back memories. My 2002 R50 CAN do 80, 81 , 82, 83, even 85 mph with a roof top tent into a 15mph wind. VQ is sooo nice as long as you don't have to mess with the lower alternator bolt.3 points

If you've ever wondered what the largest spare tire is that will fit in the underbody spare tire carrier, I just found out. I run 265/70 R16 and it barely fit. I had to jam the rear of it up against the back of the factory trailer hitch mount ( getting the wire loom that runs across the mount out of the way) and the tire is within 1/2 inch of the panhard rod on the front side.1 point

::UPDATE:: After closer inspection (and a trip to the dealer [emoji2961]), the issue was resolved. It was in fact a timing issue, but it was only off by one tooth. Although the engine would start every time, it would always be thrown out of time as soon as I hit idle. I feel SO lucky that not only was it only one tooth in the opposite direction, but also that it wasn’t a transmission issue (although the tranny is quite obviously giving out a little). Mine was one tooth off when I got it and as it barely staying running. I guess depends on which way the tooth was off. Mine was one tooth off between the right sprocket to the left and it started everytime. It would miss and the CEL would flash pouring raw gas into the catalytic converter'but it started everytime. When the light flashes it's time to park it utill the problem is fixedMr Cox 96R50-97JR501 point

This was way to cool to NOT share. Definitely my favorite Nissan, and the best looking of the few that frequent my area. Wasn't expecting to find it parked at Home Depot though1 point
