Ramithepimp77
So this is the first time my baby has been more than a few miles away from me without me being on a trip or something. If you didnt know already "My baby" = My wonderful little pathfinder! We were wheeling today and on the first trail my buddy got stuck (in a 2000 Frontier w/a 3 inch lift and 32x11.50s BFG M/Ts) on a trail so we spent a while working on that. WOOOOOOOOOO NPORA!!!!! N-E-Ways.... He gets out.... We move on to the next trail! At the next trail I went first since I have been down it before (When I was COMPLETLY STOCK). But this time it was EXTREAMLY wet and NOTHING like the first time. I make it almost all the way and I notice that it is kinda getting really slick so I decide to turn around. WELL I started to back in to a spot and pull back up the trail but I started to slide. Every time I would move a little or try to get out I would slide more and more untill I was basicly at the bottom or the hill with my tires completly caked in some nice thick mud. My buddy with the Frontier got out of my rig (cuz he was riding with me to check out the trail) and decided to come down and try to help me out. He ended up starting to slide too so he stopped and tried to get out himself..... NO LUCK. Meanwhile my buddy with a Hard Body (3 inch lift with 31x10.50 BFG M/Ts) was stuck at a different part of the trail. So at this point we contacted a guy with a Land Cruiser to assist. He pulls the HB out. He pulls the Frontier out. Than he trys for me.... Let me just tell you that this Land Cruiser was nothing to sneeze at. It was lifted with at least 35s (M/Ts though), lockers front and rear, dual tranfer cases, and other little sweet bells and wistles. We hooked 5 tow straps together so that he wouldnt have to back so far down that HE himself would get stuck. After about and hour he gets me like 10 feet up the trial. ONLY 80 more to go GD GD GD GD!!!! help.... Rami
Precise1
DOH !!! Rami, sounds like you need a winch or serious come-along with some tire chocks to get back up and out... Try putting on tire chains ? I'm sure you'll get it figured out, but those are cheap/easy suggestions that could help... Good luck Bud, and take plenty of picts !! Pezzy
We'd come out to help, but by the time we get there -- I'm hoping you'd be already out... GOOD LUCK!
vengeful
Oh snap! I've been there before....not stuck at the bottom of a hill...but stuck overnight in a hole. I guess your next investment is going to be a winch, huh? Good luck man.
Harbinger
Yowch! I've been there before too -- Hope you get her out ok! But look at the bright side (as far as I know) you didn't get suck in a spot where the guy pulling you out has to warn you that rednecks might have shot your truck full of holes. That happend to me and it didn't make the next day anybetter. Good luck rami!
Filthy Luker
Sounds like the kind of trail i usually go solo at...... (with a winch) Good luck mang... I know what it feels like to leave the bitch behind you on the trail. It don't feel good, and the one time I had to do it we did have a winch in the crew. EDIT: WINCH... WINCH... WINCH... WINCH... Mr. Pickles
Ouch. Good luck Rami!!! I would have bundled up and spent the night in back, just in case. Hope all is well, and you can find a tank to pull you out in the morning! :Magic:
RedPath88
Oh man been there done that.. well sorta it was a friends truck. stuck in a hole. And although we were prepared top stay the night (coldest night of the winter with snow falling) we managed to get him out... two trucks and 10 buys to do it, but we got him out I once had to leave my yota on a trail for nearly a day because a hub stuck open and I did not have the Allen required to take it off. I as able to get in, but not out on my own... I was nervous as h*ll in just that short of time period. After the run we drove down the road to a buddies house (jerk would not run down there to get it when I first needed it :furious: ) took the hub apart, cleaned it, popped it back on and drove right out. *Don't bother asking about recovery equipment :X
Ramithepimp77
UPDATE!!! Today a friend and I went up to check it out and see if my rig was A-OK. Which it was THANK GOD! My fried that I went up with has a Jeep Cherokee with M/Ts (guess he got rid of the boggers a few weeks ago), 5 inchs of lift, lincon lockered up haha, and a winch on his ARB bumper. So if need be we could drive out to his farm and hook the bumper back up (since it was off so that he could work on something), install a electric fan real quick, and drive it up there and pull me out. Well while we were there a friend showed up since he heard through the grape vine that I was heading up there. He showed up with a tow strap, 2 burly chains, and a high lift. We started to tow her out little by little. We got her moved from basiclly the bottom of the hill to 2/3s to the top before it got so dark that if we kept going we would end up getting hurt. The Pathy is left up there yet another night with only a few blocks of wood holding it from sliding which really worries me..... air down? I actually did air down to 10 psi and still no luck.... But look at the bright side (as far as I know) you didn't get suck in a spot where the guy pulling you out has to warn you that rednecks might have shot your truck full of holes. That happend to me and it didn't make the next day anybetter. The main thing I AM worried about is people showing up and shooting at it. Its at a mountain where people shoot ALL the time at anything and everything. Stolen cars are found up in these parts stolen, shot up, and BLOWN up So I can only pray. I really dont care about the stuck part its WHERE Im stuck thats killing me. Anyways I have to get to bed. I have to wake up and be in Oregon City (maybe 20 mins away) at 8:00am tomorrow to meet my buddy thats gonna take his Yota up and get me out. And yes I know.... PICS PICS PICS!!! I have a few already and Ill get more tomorrow morning. Thanks for showing you all care Its good to know. Love ya all haha Rami
deej
Good to see it made it through the first night. I got my fingers crossed for ya for the second night, hopefully it's not shot up. I like that you're getting a Yota to finish the job, it'll work out fine for you Rami.

Ramithepimp77
So shes home now. Im so happy! NO BULLET HOLES AND NO ONE BROKE IN!!!! YAY!!! I thought I would share some pics though so here we go.... First off this was a trail I have been down before but BACK IN THE DAY (4-25-04) while I was still completly stock along with my buddys bone stock 2002 Ranger Edge. This was about half way through the trail Close to the end of the trail it turns left by a big stump (thats where the ranger stopped and I kept going down the hill). It wasn't a problem AT ALL. On the way back... Stopped for a few poser pics which was possibly my FIRST poser pic EVER since I bought the rig a few weeks before this... Rami P.S. Im gonna post some more pics here in a sec haha
RedPath88
Glad to hear that you got her home, in one peice and undamaged
Ramithepimp77
MORE PICS??? OK!! The main reason why I couldn't get out and why every one was getting stuck was cuz the mud was so thick and would just pack in to your tires. And because it was a hill. Hill + muddy clay type substance = NOT GOING HOME! This was where I ended up AFTER the Toyota Land Cruiser pulled me as far as he could... Now thats kinda a scary ride sliding backwards with nothing you can do to stop your self. A diff veiw... We tried to lower the PSI of the tires to 10psi BUT that didnt help. This is a buddy of mine using the high lift... After manually winching the Pathy prolly 50 feet we decided to stop cuz we were so tired and it was to dark. This morning I met up with one of my buddies with a Yota that had a winch on it. So we headed up and he pulled me out in no time flat. GOD BLESS THE WINCH!!! It was so much faster and easier than ANY other method we used haha. This is the Yota... Another poser pic... AND FINALLY my pathy is on solid ground and ready to go home Hope you enjoyed Rami
Ramithepimp77
OH YA I failed to mention that after Frank (the driver of the Yota) pulled me out he decided to drive down the hill and drive back up it BUT he couldnt even make it. I mean this Yota was pretty sweet to but he couldnt even get up the hill. He had to winch him self out. And than he had a little bit of trouble getting around the corner where I had less trouble. So I guess it was just a pretty nasty spot. Maybe you don't need 38 inch boggers and dual transfer cases and lockers..... OK MAYBE YOU DO hahahah N-E-WAYS THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED AND EVERYONE THAT GAVE ME ADVICE!!! Love ya all Rami Edited January 15, 2006 by Ramithepimp77

vidro
I see it as a blessing that you had people that you could call come help you out and they were equipped to do the job. I have a feeling if this situation were to happen to me I would have friends come out with their lawn chairs, BBQ pit and stare at the situation till the beer was gone. Then they would pull out their guns and see how motivated they could get me to get her unstuck before they start shooting at her. This is their idea of rendering aid. Mr. Pickles
Right on Rami. At least you can feel good about a really good "stuck" since that Yota couldn't do it either. That's a pretty sweet trail truck he has. Now maybe next time you'll let the Ranger go first and get stuck.
Precise1
Vidro, I don't know whether to laugh or cry... Damn Rami, now I understand why you got stuck; you have a 2 door !! *snicker* Glad you got her back in one piece !! I guess a winch is going to be the next item for the Pathy ? Cool Yota too, that thing is so ugly I like it ! B

Mark
Hi again, Glad you got her back okay. That's the main thing. I carry snow chains (don't laugh) for mud like that. I haven't had to use them yet but friends that have done it reckon that they work a treat.
MaritimeMan
Yeah snow chains will definately help, just don't expect them to last to long. Wow that sounds like an adventure and a half Rami, glad to hear ya made it out ok. So when you plannin ong gettin stuck next?
