Just thought it might be cool if people had a picture of thier last vehical before they got the Pathy!

I had a Mazda Rx7 i loved every minute of it, but it was time for a change a bit of a drastic one! but i'm lovin every minute on my pathfinder having fun with it in a different way then i did my car. I went from spinning around low to the ground to climbing over everything on the ground. I loved the rotary engine learn't tons about the car and rotary engine. Now i'm learning more about my truck its a whole different adventure.

my dad works at mazda, it seams everyday theres an rx8 getting a new engine, the guy who does it justs drops it out with the front suspension, i just asked my dad and he said 10 or 15 that hes seen him do, which is to be expecteded, its a new car so your going to have problems, i dont care who makes, and its a new rotary engine so thats a double whamy

Just to replay to the Rx8 coment i won't take over Idon't want this to be a rotary forum or anything, but a ton of work was put into the renisis engine(4 years of enginering) and that really suprises me about the motor problems as far as i heard they are a great emprovment from a allready great concept. You hear horestories about rotaries but if they are tuned right and maintained they are "almost bullet proof". I had 221Km's when i sold the car quite a few mods and the car still had 106 and 109 on both rotors for compression ratios and out of factory they had 115, Sorry just have to defend the rotarys!

1976 Chevrolet Chevelle Laguna Type S-3. 406ci SB V8, TH350, and freeway flyer 2.73 rear gears. Still have it, in the garage under a thick layer of dust. Needs a tranny and different engine. I'm going big-block this time. :D

oh yeah its a great car and its fast to, im not sure what happens to them but mazda gets every single engine back, i think it had something to do with antifreee leaking into the combustion chamber were the rotor spins around, you know how there sandwhiched, ill check some more saturday, the next time im going in with him

I can't remember the last time I had 1 vehicle (thats not counting motorcycles), hence forth I never have a NICE vehicle (other than motorcycles)... The vehicle that the Pathy replaced is my beloved old 720 Kingcab 4x4 PU. It was the BEST vehicle I have ever owned. Period. Reliability was incredible ! Repairs were fairly easy and cheap. Drove it almost every day for 11 years and it left me stranded 3 times (minor like alternator). Slower than hell !! 106 HP is what the stock Z24 motor put out and bigger tires didn't help. Drove 2000 miles in baja on one trip without a single issue, even when I was jumping it. Wheeled it everywhere and never got stuck, I swear that thing was an amphibious lizard ! When I sold it, everything needed some attention, I didn't have the place and time to deal with it and wanted more power and lower miles. Thats one of the reasons I think the Pathy V6 is just fine. Broke my heart to sell her, but since I'm not rich, I have to make hard choices sometimes. :(

If I am ever in the position to set up a vehicle mainly for offroading, I would pick that model with that engine, and go from there. Geez, I'm getting all nostalgic now.

Hey Kn0xville, your bug is SWEET ! Even with that crappy photo I can see 1/2 the work you have done and I'm impressed ! Check out my project; it's about 1/2 done. A photo is in the off topic/silly german thread.

89 S10, got it for 100 bucks from a salvager (it helps to know him), replaced the head (thats why he had it), and the rad (thats why the head was blown), the people who had before never did anything to it, i changed the oil and ive never seen oil that bad, i think it took about 20 minutes to goop out, so anyway were driving it around (my dad), i didnt even have my permit yet, and he had his current truck, the bronco2, so we start hearing the rod knock, and this whole time were rebuilding his ford because it threw a rod. so he parks the s10 at work and gets done with the ford and drives out to his work to get the s10, so on the way home it throws a rod right out the side, but we got new tires, a bed tool box and a list of freebies for it, in the end we came out on top, and mz dont say anything the ford did it first

1996 Mercury Mystique, V6, AT, all options except leather, fog lights and sunroof. Had 4 wheel disk brakes with ABS, traction control, 170 hp. Got 36-40 mpg (imperial gallons) and was fast and quick. A few BMW 3 series had some nasty surprises from a lowly Mercury! Was sold in Europe and was named European Car of The Year 1994. But had the nickname of Mercury Mistake, was very tough to work on and reliability :X :furious: (still has its winter tires/rims on in this picture)

Hmm... ok. I swapped this: (my '92 S-10 4.3 Vortec auto with 210,000 miles on it)

I paid $8,000 for my S-10 in '95 with 125,000 on it. Never had any problems except fuel pump @ 175,000 and distributor at 200,000. Ran like new.

Buddy had the Jeep.. loved it..wanted a wheeler..he offered to swap.. I said yes..and that..my friends..is how I got my first Jeep. My S-10 KBB'd @ $5,300 and the Jeep KBB'd @ $7,500..... (we swapped in Feb 2001)
