I started it up and it ran perfectly, I put it in drive and it moved forwards a few inches. "Tis only a flesh wound."

SEE THE PRIUS BUMPER!!! MUAHAHAHAHA!

I'll have more pics later from my digital camera of the scene of the accident. I just went and got all my stuff out of it. Somehow my iPod managed to disappear, I think it flew out the passenger window because it was sitting on the passenger seat plugged into my stereo.

That sucks about your Pathfinder, James. :(

Good to hear you're alright, though! :D

Looking at the pics, you must've been smoked! Good to hear you took down a Prius in a final blaze of glory.

Time to do some shopping, eh? ;)

Wow, that sucks! But fortunately you were able to walk away from it- that's the main thing.

Serious frame damage though! To the casual eye that doesn't look so bad but we all know better. Yikes!

What did his car look like?

Yeah the picture of the back cargo area with the bend in it is the shape of the bend in the frame. Lol.

His car was pretty mangled too...

Damn, the poor thing looks like an old dog with gland problems trying to scoot its ass across the carpet.

The damage looks almost exactly like Pinip's accident (right member?).

#1 killer of pathys is rust

#2 is the timing belt

#3 is roll overs

#4 is being rear ended over 40mph...

See that Austin's Autos lot to the left of the accident scene? He was looking at one of those and simply didn't see us at the stop light.

It was an honest mistake, sh!t happens. He's still going to pay... :rant2:

Too bad the Prius wasn't a powder blue Prius... ;)

Woo, another check from Blackjack Fireworks for Sunday. $41. I would say "sweet gas money!" but NOOOOOO...

That wouldn't surprise me, I've passed it many times going "what the hell?"

I should sue that lot for putting a distracting thing alongside the roadway! :jk:

jesus man, great to hear you're alright, you could've been seriously hurt in an accident like that!

Anyway my one word of advice would be to not settle with your insurance company until you are fully compensated, mainly for any future medical expenses. You're young, I'm sure you'll recover from your neck injury quickly but that doesn't mean that it won't crop up again in a few years and hamper you for the rest of your life. Make sure you see a good doctor and if they think you might require surgery or any type of ongoing medical expense you want to make sure that insurance will cover all that...once you've settled you're generally boned for any expense which comes up after.

In other words get a good doctor and an even better lawyer.

Hope everything works out well for you :)

Thanks for the advice! Thankfully, my dad's insurance comes from the Port (which STARTED Kaiser Permanente) and has "A" coverage. That means not a single penny out of pocket for a single thing, ever, as long as I'm on the policy. No copays, medication is free, etc. etc. etc.. It is the best insurance in the world which the ILWU has fought hard to keep.

We also have a lawyer through the Port...go figure. Lol.

My dad's in kick ass mode, so I'm sure if the guy's insurance company tries to hurry to settle and lowball us, they'll be in for it. I'm keeping logs of all the pain I'm dealing with in my neck to use in the settlement paper, because most people forget about it after a while. I woke up a few times last night in pain, and once panicking because I had a flashback of seeing the car hit me. The of course I jerked awake and twisted my neck around like an idiot and made it all worse...

Thank God you are alright James. Those prayers work man, believe me. I am no saint but those prayers people say for you work.

I got buggered pretty bad in the past and back pains come and go right where I got sideswiped by a guy driving his brand new corvette. (he was drunk).

So see a Chiro and a specialist and like the folks mentioned don't let the insurance just pay you off right away.

Get another '21 and some of us NorCal Folks can come and visit you next year once we get our trucks all set.

Again, Glad you are not paralyzed or missing an arm or dead. :itsallgood:
