Stock Speakers

Recommended Posts

I am wanting to order replacement speakers for all the speakers in my 95 XE. I already have a 1000 watt amp and an Alpine Type R sub but do not know what kind of speakers fit in my Pathy... If anybody has done this can you please let me know what size and what make fits best.... thank you

I put new ones in the doors of my 95. I had to cut away at the plastic mounting housing a little bit to accomodate for the lip of the speaker cone and I had to heat and push the back out to make room for the magnet but it wasn't that hard to make them fit. Even if it were a hack job, with the grills on, you can't tell

I had a tough time finding 5x7 but with some cutting even 6x9 fit and the stock grills still fit you cant see any of the cutting. If your going to run an amp to drive the speakers i would replace the wiring as well, the reason is there is a stock amp located in the cargo area and it will limit your speakers. Im not sure about the XE's but my SE had tweeters as well, changing the wire makes those stock tweeters useless because they are driven by the stock amp which has the high frequency cutoff built in. I find the dual channels i have work great to get all the sound ranges but components would be a good choice if you can spend a little more money.

shouldnt really need a amp i had mine going and you could literally hear them for a few blocks just the new speakers and the cd player still using the stack amps. It was was rediculas. I doubt you would need a amp i actually still have those speaker becasue they dont fit in my 92. I bought them for my 93 and then about a year later the tbelt sliped and wrecked the motor. the 5x7s worked great and i didnt even have to cut anything they fit in with no effort.
