the engine definitely misses and it doesn't feel like a random miss.. feels to me like one and one only.. it's always the same..

Since I don't have an MPFI model I have to ask... is it possible to get a stethoscope down to the injectors? If so then you should be able to hear them when they open up.. the one you cannot hear would be your starting point :aok:

i wish.. those 3 under the intake are pretty much unreachable without major disassembly.. i think the wireing diagram will help i just need to find enough time to chase some wires in tight places. hope i can find out by the end of the week.. in the mean time i may have to work on making one of my other vehicle the DD.

but i may give some aquarium hosing a try.. i may be able to snake it near the injectors.. i'll keep you guys posted.

k9, thanks for the pointer to the elec. schematics.. man the manual is just too thick. lol

you wouldn't happen to know if the two connectors (near the lettrs D and B) are by any chance up front of the engine? for some reason i am thinking that mine has 4 connectors there and iirc they were all spliced into the main harness.. i will have to chase the colors on these wires. the diagrma only really shows 3 that could possibly be in the front.

if nothing else, i will take the intake off as i really need to do a few other things in there.. i bet a fried one sensor because i have a coolant leak i haven't been able to pin point and i did get the darn thing hot a couple of times.. not the day or two before it crapped out though. P...

there are 4 connectors all hooked on a post. take a look at page EL-88 for the wiring harness that connects to the injectors and the main harness. The wire that goes to the under-intake injectors runns under the intake between the second and third intake port (from the front). he meat of the harness lies along the coil side and not under the intake.

the common for the injectors runs through connector 102E and the individual lines through 101E (then to the ecu via the main harness and connector 70M

the other 2 connectors are 104E/57M which is the mainly the EGR sh!t and 103E/69M which is the IACV-AAC valve

I have the same problem, and I have had it for a year. I had the code 51, after my truck was down for 3 months while I replaced the transmission. I then cleared the code and ran 5 bottles of injector cleaner in the next 5 tanks of gas. Still misses. I am thinking it may be a leaking injector or an irregular spray pattern or both. I still have not replace any of the injectors yet. I guess I will have to do that eventually. Sucks cause they are so expensive. The code never came back however

I fixed mine as well. After removing the upper intake and all else involved. I replaced all of my injectors. I found that number 3 injector had fuel on top under the injector screws. That must have been my leaker. I then put it all back together and then it would not start. I then double and triple checked all the connectors and vacuum lines, everything was good. then I thought did I put those fuel line back on correctly. Nope Had then backwards. switched the fuels back correctly, she fired right up. However my low idle miss was still there. Crap!! well I then did the power balance check and found that the number 5 spark plug made no difference when unplugged. I then removed the spark plug in number 5 and then did a compression test. it was 130 so no problems there. I then took a close look at the spark plug and the gap was all messed up. It was too close. I remember last year when I replaced them that one of the spark plugs fell out of my socket when I was installing it and may have hit and messed up my gap. After re gapping the spark plug in number 5 she now purrs like a kitten. It is not so bad, as she did need at least 1 injector replaced.

Well, at least you got it figured out. Between a useless plug and a leaking injector, I'd say it should run rough!! Odds are she'll keep purring for years.

Did you know that you are neighbors with Slick? She's in Mantweaka also (as she puts it). :D
