Whenver I drive I got a rattle under the car at 2K RPM and when I'm in neutral and revving it, its at 4K RPM...the heat shield is kinda rusted and I'm pretty sure the sound is coming from there, as it it just a little loose. When I push on it with some force, I can feel the rear part of the shield hit the CAT. Don't know if theres loose rusted pieces in the shield or what. It's really bothering especially when in parking lots  ANY help or ideas would be appreciated

My cat shield and another shield up further were both rattling.. The cat shield was held on by one bolt, or screw whatever you wanna call it, on one end. I ripped it off in a Safeway parking lot (no tools, it was annoying me driving around town).... The other one I ripped off with pliers when I got home.

GIANT HOSE CLAMP! Seriously You have to replace them every six months or so but they are cheap and work great. I am currently using one to keep my muffler off of the frame cross bar.

wire it up like B said. take 5 minutes and you still have the shield on there to help spread the heat out.. all of mine are wired now and once in a while you'll have to cut another length of wire and retie it.. i normally double up the wire too. good luck

My muffler is welded to the frame cross bar just for that reason - to elminate the rattle the darn thing caused. Althought it makes no difference now that the cross bar is no longer attatched :P
