2003 Pathfinder SE 4x4 3.5L AT w/ 227,000 mi. I bought this put about 150-200 miles on it the first two days I had it and otw home that second day owning it, it overheated, and poured coolant everywhere. This happened about a 1/4 from my driveway. Let engine cool and got a pull from a buddy to my driveway. I located hole, replaced radiator, checked thermostat in boiling water and it opened (have a new one otw), put everything back in except the plastic molding around fan, have no leaks, burped the system, and checked air filter. Filter clean, replaced, checked oil and was fine, started it. Was rough to start, but after a couple revs it idled out and did so perfectly for about 10 min. About that time I was finished cleaning some stuff up and was going to do a short drive through the neighborhood. Dang if it didn’t sputter a few times, rpms drop, and stalled. Was able to turn over and get started again but stalled again after running rough for maybe a couple minutes. Since it may start and run for less than a minute then sputters and stalls. Almost seems like it builds up pressure and locks up, stops getting fuel, but I don’t know. it sounds like the fuel pump is priming when I power the car on. Not overheating, oil checks out, not showing check engine light. Checked for intake leaks and everything looks great. New plugs and coils were replaced very recently. MAF? O2 sensor? Im in a bind and have not been mobile in two weeks therefore not working. Please help and provide me any ideas you have.

I've got a '03 LE RWD and for a while now it's been having a problem that's been causing the car to severely lacking power (accelerating at less than 1/4 of normal speed even with pedal to the floor) and to also "grab" or "jerk" when decelerating as if it is having trouble downshifting, it is a hard symptom to describe but it isn't a prolonged or aggressive "jerk" but it will happen at any speed so long as you are not on the gas pedal, all of these problems occurred at the same time which is why I believe they both have the same cause. I went ahead and scanned it to see if that would give me an answer as it does not seem particularly like mechanical failure, however the only code I could pull (which isn't really a helpful one) was a "U1001(Invalid or Missing Data for Primary ID)" Which I'm guessing means that for some reason the car can't communicate with the OBDII scanner or that there is a miscommunication/misconnection within the CANBUS itself. I am completely stumped here as I have yet to come across (online or IRL) across another Pathy with the same problem (probably also because it is such a rare symptom to describe without driving the car for yourself. I'll also mention that a friend of kine suggested that it could be a torque converter issue which I doubt simply because i've never been in a car with a malfunctioning torque converter that behaved that way, and because a torque converter shouldn't cause that drastic of a power loss but hey I could be wrong, another note is that the car has been babied it's entire life(150k mi) and maintained relatively well. If anyone could help me out and point me in the right direction and any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all, I know there are a few topics on this, but I'm feeling a little lost. I know very little about lifts and suspension work and I'm taking this opportunity to get some education. I want to lift my R50 at least 3", however, I kind of want to lift it the highest possible without breaching a crazy cost/labour threshold. what parts would you recommend? is there a relatively complete package I can use/tweak? at what height do I need to start worrying about joint angles etc.? Should these be replaced, and is it relatively easy? what is the process for installing manual hubs? Recommendations on parts? Thanks a bunch! Joe

Hey all! Anyone have experience getting a couple more inches leg room in a manual R50? I'm looking at new brackets, remounting the current ones, or maybe playing with the pedal positions? Any help would be great. Cheers,

Hey this is my first post here! I hope someone out there can help me. I live in Canada and just bought myself a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, it needs some other maintenance work first. But while I do that I don't want to keep it on the small tires that it has. Which are 265/70R15's, I was thinking of doing a 2" lift kit, not sure how big of tires and wheels but enough to go do some off roading. Looking to get beefy like steel wheels, nothing expensive or fancy. Then replace the bumpers with something like iron cross style that cover the headlights, and do a roof rack plus "f-u lights". I don't have many ideas of where to start, or places to buy from, so I was hoping someone out here would lend me a hand in figuring specs out or if anyone has tried somethings and has advice. That'd be great too.

So I haven't seen much in the light of swapping in a Toyota 4.0L V8 1UZFE VVTI into our R50s and so I went ahead and did a metric fskcton of research about both the VQ35DE VVTI and the 1UZFE VVTI, to get dimensions and measurements for both engines and their mounting positions. This made the process way easier after finding and buying said Toyota engine locally for $200us and so far it looks like the motor mounts for the engine as almost identical and in the damn near same locations with the distance of both engines keeping the same space from the back of the engines to the firewall the same. But obviously the only way the v8 would fit without issue is to delete the clutch fan and installing dual electric fans on the radiator (which I wanted to do anyway) which isn't a big deal anyway BUT the two radiators are pretty different which is fine because A I could either adapter some coolant hoses or B find a radiator that would work with the space of the pathfinder radiator space (I haven't done much in the way of measurements or research on this) or C have a custom built aluminum performance radiator (too expensive probably) which would be nice but ideally not what I'd want to do since my truck build is budget minded for the most part. Another nice thing is that XAT makes a bell housing adapter plate to run the SR/KA 5 speed transmissions but I have also found out the the older KA24E 5 speed 4x4 transmissions might work perfectly with their adapters but I don't know what the towing capability would be with those transmissions (since I do tow with this truck) as I can't find any info on that. So my first question is for you manual transmission off roaders out there is, how is it out on the trails with a manual trans, because mine is an auto and so far I love it for off road but this 4 speed trans isn't great for highway driving because it just drags down the fuel economy hence the idea/plan for the manual/engine swap.

Hello all, New to this forum and just have a question about radiators. Anybody recommend a specific aftermarket radiator? I have a small crack in my 1994 SE pathfinder and am looking for a fairly high-quality replacement. Something close to OEM would be preferable, but not too terribly expensive. Thanks for any info you guys have.

MY PATHFINDER WAS STOLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I came home on Sunday and went to get something from my Pathfinder (which had been parked on side of family farm) and it was GONE. It was not insured, because I was in the middle of repairs. I had new Engine, Clutch, Radiator, Thermostat, etc. etc. etc. all in boxes inside locked vehicle awaiting to be installed. I spoke to a few neighbors and one told me that she saw some guys about a week before Memorial Day working on the Pathfinder all day in the middle of a sunny day and they TOWED it out of the lot with an older gray pickup. She said she thought we had just sold it or something. They stole in on a sunny day in full view of several neighbors with people outside washing their cars, watering their lawns, etc. watching them. Not insured, no recourse, except to put the word out in my offroad club. My Warn Winch in my ARB bumper, etc. I am so upset.... It was stolen from 1125 Orchard Ave, Snohomish, WA 98290. I had every reason to think that it was safe and sound parked a block down the road on our property. It was deep on the lot even, Not even remotely close to the street. It took insane gawl to break into the locked vehicle in broad daylight in full view of all neighbors and then to use an 80s-90s older pickup to tow it out using the stolen chains and tow lines from inside. It had full light rack with lights, my m8000 Warn Winch, ARB Bumper, 33" Wild Country Mud Tires, 15x8 Alloy Wheels (with security locks), in dash DVD player, and all of the components listed on my personal page here. Plus, there was a 120k Infinity Engine in the rear plus many new parts in boxes that were to be installed with new engine. None of which was insured... HELP ME FIND THOSE RESPONSIBLE and HELP ME FIND MY PATHY!!!!!!
